Edith squeezed Franklin's hand out of support. He hadn't been trying to do anything wrong, she knew that, but he just needed to take it slow, that's all. No harm done.
Of course she nodded her head, enthusiastically rubbing her tummy, after being asked. All of the food smelled so delicious! It was like the scents just flew up here to them. Reaching across the way she took Kole's hand in her free one and smiled. That was a great idea! They could all grab a bite together. Kyllian might feel better, Franklin wouldn't be alone, and she could get some cotton candy. Win wins all around!
Kyllian was just glad to know that the ride, however casually, was making it ways down to the ground. "M-maybe.." He didn't want to say that food only churned his stomach, but he could pass it up when the time came. If he could just make it down to the ground, that is!
Who was that guy, anyway? Kyllian was out of it, but not that far gone to know that Edith was being taken over by this grassy kid. Kole was the Princess, Edith and Kyllian were Knights. Jokers didn't just come in and bust it up!

Kole gave a small sigh of relief, afraid that the thought of food might make Kyllian upchuck. He knew his buddy wouldn't let him down! Ears perking, he looked over to Edith and grinned happily, glad to see her happy that they were going as well. "This'll be nice," he murmured. He wasn't quite sure about this Franklin fellow, but as long as the bulbasaur stopped trying to take his friends away, he would be okay with it for one ride and snack.
Franklin's cheeks puffed out slightly in irritation. He hadn't invited them along! But, Edith looked eager to have them, so he let it go. Maybe it would be a good chance for him to show off how cool he was! "Okay. We can all get food," he said, giving Edith's hand a squeeze while continuing to hold it in his own. He glanced over to the faint-looking Tyrunt, and back to Edith. "There's all kinds of food here at the fair. Cotton candy, donuts, licorice, funnel cake, ice cream, pizza, hot dogs, chili with cheese! It's awesome! I'm sure you'll find something you'll like, Edith~"

Edith was a little disappointed when the ride came to it's end, but honestly, with as much drama that had come from it she was a little pleased! Kyllian needed the break and she needed a breather. Those were some dark looks in that carriage! What was it all about, though?
Her eyes lit up at all the talk of food, and naturally, so as not to get everyone tripping over one another, she let go of Kole's hand in favor of keeping Franklin's. They were sitting next to each other, after all. She led the way out, moving her bag around her hip so it wouldn't hit Franklin as she drug him out behind him, all smiles.
"Ugh, that sounds just..." Kyllian took a deep breath and held his stomach at the talk of food. Woah now, everything wibbled a little! He stood up, watching for a moment as the pair led the way out before looking down at Kole. He clapped his friend on the shoulder and tried to put up a brave front, despite his earlier slip. "Sorry about before," and in a quieter tone, "And about him. Want me to get rid of 'im?" Motioning with his head towards the bulbasaur Kyllian made a little clicking sound with him tongue.
He could distract him or even start a fight! Anything to get the two away from each other, since it obviously bothered his friend.

Feeling Edith's hand slip from his own, Kole felt that odd twinge again. She was still holding Franklin's hand...
Looking up at Kyllian after the hit, he gave a weak smile. "No, I'm sorry. If I'd known, I would have picked a different ride." The mention of the intruder made Kole's expression fall even further, and he looked at the pair ahead... still holding hands. Oooh how nice it would be to chase the guy off! "N.. no. She's enjoying him being here. Just this once... Besides, she can have any friends she wants." He kept his gaze down though, not understanding why he was so upset. "So, wanna get something to settle your stomach?"
Franklin had a large smile as he walked out of the cage with Edith, and held firmly to her hand. "What do you want to try first? Want a snack, or are you hungry for something more filling? We could even get both. I've got plenty of money for whatever you want!"

Kyllian shrugged. "Can't know something that was never tested, right?" It wasn't like Kyllian ever spent much time up high, so he hadn't known it would bother him. He scrunched up his face and got off the ride at the insistence of the operator. A part of him wanted to just do the deed and move on, but Kole didn't want that, so..."Well yeah, but she came here to see you, didn't she? She didn't even know he was here." Right?
"Water sounds pretty good, buddy." He wrapped his arm around Kole's shoulders and started walking behind the other pair.
Edith had to think on that one. She tapped her chin, and looked around at the vendors, then got a 'ah-ha!' look as she pointed to a corndog stand. Those smelled pretty good! And there were plenty of people around it eating them so it must taste good too.

Kole chuckled softly and shook his head. "That's true." How was he supposed to prevent what he didn't know would be a problem? Now, that Franklin... he might be a problem. But.. Edith seemed to like him. Kyllian was right though. He'd invited her, not Franklin! "Just this once," he repeated sourly. Back against Kyllian's side though, he pushed his discomfort with the other boy's presence aside and picked up the pace to catch up.
Nodding, Franklin led Edith to the corndogs. He glanced back at the other boys and sighed. He didn't want to pay for them as well! He stepped up to the stall and put a couple bills onto the counter. "We'll have two corndogs, please. And two lemonades." He looked to Edith and smiled. "These might make you a bit thirsty, so lemonade is good with them.

Making a little 'o' with her mouth, Edith nodded astutely. That was very smart! But...she had money, in her little bag, and since Franklin didn't order enough for everyone else she would just pay for theirs! She pulled out a little purple sequined pouch from her messenger bag, unzipped it and handed some money to the vender, then held up four fingers and motioned to the other two boys. Surely they would like this as well!
Kyllian kept strolling along next to Kole, passively looking as Edith and Franklin ordered food. He could care less about that right now, though. He needed to get his boy back with his girl! What to do...what to do...He looked around, got a grin and elbowed Kole. "Look, look," he whispered, motioning to a little booth with a water squirter game. The prize were some kind of weird flamed hat and a big, stuffed Teddiursa. "I bet if Edith had that she wouldn't think twice about Franklin." He winked.

Kole couldn't help suddenly glaring at the back of Franklin's head. He'd heard that! Only two?! That guy was really trying to phase them out! And then.. His smile lifted as Edith caught the mistake and paid for them as well. Wait... shouldn't he put in a little money as well?
Looking over as he was nudged, his brow rose. Would a big stuffed bear really fix this? "I.. could try," he murmured. After a quick glance to the pair at the counter, he looked up at Kyllian with a hopeful smile and headed over to the game.
Franklin groaned mentally. Well, Edith was smart. He had just hoped.. wait. What was that kid doing? Had he won? But, the big guy was still here... Was he...? Oh well. As if some toy would help! "Where do you want to sit, Edith?"

Sticking his hands in the pockets provided by the kilt, Kyllian whistled innocently and just smiled when Franklin looked his way. His tail swayed behind him lazily, the breeze taking his unruly hair in a wave around his horns. Those bright eyes were absolutely recovered from his moment of weakness and full of mischief. Oh, just wait, Franklin! There was nothing a girl wouldn't do for a prize won by such a swell guy.
He stepped up to the two after giving a salute to Kole. "Aww, thanks Edith, you really are thoughtful. Why don't I help you two carry the food, huh? Since my meal is free and all." Squeezing in he picked up the little cardboard carriers for the drinks and corndogs. "And maybe we could all sit over there?"
Edith was kept so busy with the process of paying, Franklin and Kyllian that she didn't notice Kole slipping off. She had been about to answer the Bulbasaur's question when Kyllian sidled in and apparently handled it for her. She puffed up, feathers bristling at having the decision taken from her. The way he moved in had caused her to let go of Franklin's hand, too, but she wasn't as concerned about that.
Stuffing her coin purse back into her satchel she followed him to a little wooden picnic table and saw Kole. Hadn't he just been...? What kind of game was he playing? She climbed up on the seat, and then sat ontop of the table, craning her neck to get a better view.

Kole inspected the squirt gun tied to the stall front, and then the target. A couple kids were just finishing their games, and he watched the little icons rise on the poles the water was hitting. Okay. He could do this!
The winner was announced, and a hat was given away. Kole looked at the stuffed toy again. Hopefully... He sat down as the next round of contestants was called forward, followed by another kid, and then- Franklin?!
Oh, he wasn't going to have this! First the big guy getting pushy, and now the other kid was getting Edith's curiosity and attention? If only he were a little bit older, he could just... Pulling his drink and dog out of the box, he promptly set it next to Edith. "Hey, I'll go tell him the food's ready!" he said with a too-chipper grin before spinning and walking over to Kole. "Let me guess, you think you're gonna show off by winning some game?" He shook his head and sat down. "By the way, the food's ready. ...and Edith is watching~"
What was that bulbasaur thinking? Show off? He wasn't trying to show off! ..Well, not that much. He just wanted to win something for Edith. The mention of her watching made Kole's cheeks flush. What if he lost to Franklin?!
He didn't have time to think as the warning buzzer rang, and then the stall worker called for them to start. He was dead focused on his target, but his hands were a little shaky, feeling the pressure. If he didn't at least beat Franklin... Franklin's icon was just ahead of his, and he started to feel panic. Then some other feeling started in the back of his head; a surge of power... A buzzer went off, and Kole was shocked to see his pole lighting up. He'd won!
Meanwhile, Franklin was looking curiously at his squirt gun, having suddenly stopped playing. What was he supposed to do with this thing again?
Had he... used an ability? Did he have confuse ray?! He tried to not think too hard on it, lest his guilt get the better of him. "Come on, Franklin. Food's ready," he murmured with a tiny smile as he accepted the teddiursa toy. Turning back, his bashful smile rose as he walked over to Edith and held out the prize. "This is for you..."
Back at the stall, Franklin shook his head. Food? Oh, right. The corndogs. Wait! When had that guy won?! Grumbling, he got up and headed back to the table. What had happened? "Good job," he said with a strained smile, seeing the toy held out. Ohhhhh, that guy was slick, winning something for Edith... He would have to be more careful in the future.

Kyllian sat next to Edith on top of the table, lounging back with his longer legs kicked out on the benches actual seat. He took a corndog and bit into it to keep from intervening. He wanted to be there to help Kole; surely if his friend didn't win, then Kyllian would and they would have a bigger chance! But even he knew when a fight wasn't his.
That didn't mean he wasn't allowed to be worried when Franklin followed him.
Edith bit her lip in worry. She brought her hands up in little fists and waved them around her face, practically bouncing on her tail feathers. Her little wings fluttered, full of the energy that didn't know which one to root for. She'd seen the other contestants and was ready to root for Kole, but then Franklin joined in!
Her cheeks were flushed and she looked at Kyllian, who just smiled around his food and turned back to the boys. She couldn't stop watching the icons as they rose, standing up on the seat, hands clasped in front of her as she waited for the results, but in her heart she knew who she wanted to win, even if she didn't yet realize...
Kyllian jumped up and hooted, tossing his fist into the air. The cleared dog stick fell out of his mouth and hit the ground, much like the whole picnic table might have, with both kids standing on the edge, if he hadn't sat back down. He passed an apologetic look to Edith, who had fluttered up on her wings to avoid falling.
What was wrong with Franklin...? Maybe he was just a sore loser. He seemed really confused, but she couldn't have been more pleased. Edith's blush spread to her ears and neck, darkening them to a darker grey, almost black. She wrapped her arms around the Teddiursa, and kissed the top of it's head. Then she leaned forward and gave Kole a peck on the cheek.

Kole was worried at first. Was Edith blushing? Was she upset? But he sighed with relief when she hugged the teddiursa. Now he could tell she was happy! And then.... butterflies burst into flight in Kole's belly, and the heat on his cheeks exploded. "Y-you're welc-come," he stuttered, eyes lowering bashfully. He wasn't feeling embarrassed... so what was this sensation inside him?
He glanced over to Kyllian, and gave him a smile. If it hadn't been for his friend's suggestion... "Did you want another one, Kyllian?" he asked with a giggle as he sat at the table and pointed at the bare stick on the ground that Kyllian had dropped. Though Franklin might have been sitting next to Edith, Kole found himself sitting across from her, which was quite nice...
Also blushing, but with irritation and jealousy, Franklin sat and grudgingly chewed on his corndog. At least he'd put his food next to Edith's!

So it went that Edith held the Teddiursa close as she bashfully turned her girlish smile from Kole, to the ground and peeped back at him. There was an odd nervousness about her now that she didn't quite understand, but it was happy, so very happy.
"Pfft. Nah man, I'm good." Kyllian waggled his brows and motioned to Edith when she wasn't watching with a little wink. It had worked - big time! "That was some fancy shooting, partner. I'm glad I've got you at my back." He clapped Kole on the back of his shoulder with a laugh. With a sympathetic shrug he looked at Franklin, "Maybe next time, huh? I'm sure you'll get there some day." Edith sat her prize ontop of her lap and reached for the corndog. Tentatively she took a bite, then another, and another. This was really good! She gave a little moan and wiggled in her seat happily. It tasted even better than it smelled. When she reached for her lemonade she found her hand had brushed against Franklin's, which just made her laugh around her food and nudge him.
He shouldn't look sour, it was just a game!

Kole tried to quell the fluttering in his belly. It made him not want to eat, but he was hungry. Nearly tipping over from Kyllian's smack, he giggled and shrugged. "It wasn't that hard.." He couldn't stop thinking about how Edith had reacted to him winning the toy for her. She'd.. looked so happy. He liked seeing her like that.. He focused on his corndog, forcing it down into his fluttery tummy.
Franklin glared at Kyllian without lifting his head. "Yeah. Next time," he muttered, reaching for his drink. When his hand brushed with Edith's, he smiled and nudged her back. She had such a nice smile. ...Hopefully she wasn't too far behind him in growing.

Cornetified You can have a vague time skip to the end of the evening with your post, if you want. c: That way we can set about wrapping things up. With her Teddiursa secured in thin arms on her lap, Edith turned to look at the group as a whole. She was having such a good time she never wanted it to end, and she was glad that her friends seemed just as happy. It was slightly odd, to think about her having friends. There had been a time when she wouldn't have thought it possible, but now....oh, how she loved it. If only her brother were here to share in the fun!
Kyllian gave Edith a little obvious wink, his tail swaying heavily behind him. There were some things about the human world he really liked, which wasn't all that many, to be honest, but this carnival thing he could get used to.
"So, what next? I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to sit out on these rides."
