The hug was unexpected, catching Mia by surprise, but the she smiled, returning the hug with one arm, while using her other hand to pat the ghoul on the head.
"Yes, well, most of it is just silly stuff not worth mentioning, but it is a bit better now. Thanks for helping me get over it."

"Are you sure? Do you want to talk about it?" Marcy asked, stepping back so she could look Mia in the eye. "Friends are supposed to talk, you know. Alette told me all about it. She's my best friend, and we talk about boils and clothes and things." Really, it was true. She would also tell Alette all about the adventures with Mia, but that was for later.

"You can tell me anything!"

Mia couldn't help but feel a pang at the words "best friend". Even after all her time here, there wasn't really anyone she considered close enough for those words. Good friends, yes, but "best" friend? Someone who she could tell all her troubles to, someone who'd be there for her when she needed then most?
Well... throughout her childhood, she had always been alone. Why should it be any different now?

She shook her head, and smiled.
No, this would be her burden to bear. Her and her only.
"Don't worry about it. Really, it's nothing."
Patting the ghoul on the head once more, she turned, already heading for the door.
"Now that we're done, we can probably leave now. Wouldn't want to hold up other students who want to come in and use the room."

If Marcy had known how Mia felt, she would have informed her that she was Marcy's best friend, too. She loved Mia. Why else would she drag her off to see a strange museum?

But she didn't know how Mia felt, she only knew what Mia said.

"Are you certain? Because we can talk about it, really." She stared at Mia for a good few moments.

And then she conceded. "Okay! We can....go back to my room and talk about boils! Do you know any cute boils?" Mia had to know some, she was sure of it. And this is what friends did.

Marcy also took her picture with her.

Marcy's question was answered with a nod, and Mia smiled... until she mentioned boils.
Her smile dropped and she shook her head.
"The boils here... aren't really worth mentioning."
It was still a sore spot for her, but perhaps one day... she'd mention it. For now, she didn't want to think about it anymore. What happened then was now in the past.
As was the picture, which she deliberately left behind.
Some things were better left forgotten.
