Walking backwards along the beach, Kakumei looked at each print he made in the sand. His shoes were grasped in his hands as sand would squeeze between each of his toes. In his many years, he never felt ground with such a composition. The feeling was strange to him, but he enjoyed it. After a bit, he tripped and fell backwards, his ankle having been caught up by another persons foot. His body hit the sand rather hard, sand flying up in several directions.

Nasuada had fell asleep on the beach using the surrounding sands to repair her body as much as she could after the disastrous events that occurred at that wretched ball. Even thinking about while in sleep was enough to send the sand around her jittering in anger. She had been dowsed in water, encased in ice, as well as fire blasted and seared to the point that some of her sand had actually become glass. It had gotten so bad that she nearly just given herself up a sandstorm and collapsed from the exhaustion of holding herself from the pain. She had nearly lost half of her sand that night, and had been reclaiming as much from the beach as she can. Thankfully sand normally had no will and easily conformed to her will as one of the few sand spirits in the worlds. But it was still exhausting and so she fell asleep, enjoying the feeling of the sand shifting underneath, which was fine enough to remind her of her own Saharan desert.

That is, until some foolish upstart of a creature decided to plow through her sand like some horse and have to the audacity to then plop down beside her. She was instantly awake and furious. All the sand within a ten foot radius of her exploded upward, to then congregate underneath her as she reformed as a ten-foot tall giant. Despite her size she appeared like any woman that walked the sands that was her Saharan Desert, but her face was pulled into a rather nasty frown as she glared down at the intruder.
"Who has the stones to bother me while I am recuperating? You, wretch, who are you? What do you want!" Her voice vibrated throughout the sand she occupied, having no true need for a mouth to speak. Already her form was blurring so that she could easily deform and crush the creature.

Kakumei quickly stood up and looked her up and down. He dropped his shoes to his side, his left hand moving back to grip the hilt of his sword. "Okay, you need to calm down. I didn't even notice you here. It was clearly an accident..."

He felt a little uneasy, trying to gauge the situation. "So you know... I'll put down my sword, and you put down your... sand... And I won't get the ocean involved. Fair?" He spoke calmly, his right hand held out a little both to show that he would arm up no further.

Nasuada nearly crushed him for his stupidity, like she could believe no one would notice someone sleeping on the beach. And then think he could simply tell her to calm down like she was some errant child. But he mentioned involving the ocean, her automatically began to swirl in anger and fear. What is it with creatures these days and water? This town seems to be teeming with them. Just my luck. But she relented, shedding off the excess sand until she was standing on a large pile of sand at the average height of human females. She then collapsed into the herself and reformed in front of the man, a sneer already forming on her face. "Like that steel will hurt me, blind fool. I am sand. Now what are you doing here, disturbing my sleep like this?" Nasuada said snapping her question like a sharp whip. Her form was still vibrating slightly, contemplating a collapse of form to crush him. In this condensed state she had roughly half a football field of highly condensed sand ready, it would over in a matter of moments if he was human, but she got the feeling he was not. The shape and feel of his spirit was off. Her human-like face scrunched up "What are you?"

"S... Steel?" He looked around a bit in confusion, then looked at the hilt he hand clutched in his hand. "Ooh... You assumed the composition of my blade and used it to address my weapon. No, no. This is a defensive weapon... Mostly. I assume you control each individual grain of sand by characterizing the energy within it to you. My sword can absorb kinetic energy on impact, so I assume it would disrupt it enough to make an escape if I needed."

Kakumei slumped into a relaxed position, despite the still somewhat hostile attitude towards him. He started to shake his clothes, the grains of salt falling off as if the polymers of he clothing were too tight for the sand to get in between. As her last question, he kind of jolted in surprise.

"What? Is there something wrong with me? Do I stand out too much from the indigenous people in this area?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 07, 2015 7:37 pm

Nasuada's sand paused in it's shifting in response to the overly complex description of his blade. It's either is or isn't steel, no matter the power is holds. Nasuada snorted as she began to circle him, sand falling off her and clumping up elsewhere as she walked around him. "You still haven't told me why you would so rudely wake me up, and you think I'll just answer any question just because you asked? Mortals, you're always so frustratingly selfish. Even if you're not human, honestly only blind humans couldn't tell the difference between you and them, you sure like making the same assumptions as them." Nasuada said scornfully. Even though in truth the creature didn't look all that different from humans, only slightly exotic and those humans always passed off easily enough, what she saw was completely different from what she would see in humans. For Nasuada's sight was more concerned with the size and shape of the spirit inhabiting the body, and thus she didn't see a human like others would, but something other. "Well? Are you going to answer both of my questions, little creature?" Nasuada asked, stopping her shifting around to stare at him with her arms crossed.

"I was walking backwards and accidentally fell over you. Having lived under ground most of my life, I haven't experienced 'sand' before. It's mostly just stone, and the occasional dirt."

Kakumei thought to himself for a moment, his eyes following the other as any time she walked within his vision. "Anyway, I am an Arahitogami. First of the mortal races. Blessed by the gods themselves. Very, very far from the human race..." He chuckled to himself softly.

Nasuada's surprise was evident on her sand, as all of her sand went rigid. She knew little of the Arahitogami, as they had rarely went near old lands, but knew enough to know that while they were hardly the oldest mortals, but definitely older than most and had nothing in common with humans. But she had to snort at one comment "Blessed by the gods, aren't your kind essentially glorified moles? You're certainly as blind as one. Even if you're walking backwards, you should've noticed that the sand was different." Nasuada said, motioning with her arm at the sand, which had changed from golden-white to a dull reddish-brown where she was close as the sand bent to her composition of minerals. But now that she knew the creature in front of her she was moderately calmer, or at least she wasn't going to sandblast him immediately. "I guess I shouldn't hold it against you moles, so much time in the dirt it makes sense you can't see where you're going. So I'll generously accept that apology. I am Nasuada Sahara, the spirit of the Saharan Desert; who are you mole?"

Kakumei signed. "Don't call us moles. We were forced underground in ancient times and we remained there so less advanced races would stop worshiping us as gods." He shook his head, memories of his ancestors flooding into his head for a moment. He closed his eyes to clear them and looked at the other once more.

"I am Kakumei." He tilted his head a bit and then pulled out a transparent orb, which then projected the image of a world on it. The continents on this projection were all mostly connected. "Tell me... Where is the Saharan Desert on this map...?" Its clear he was looking at a map of Pangaea, and nothing even close to modern.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 10, 2015 8:13 am

Nasuada took one look at the map and and actually made sure to laugh where Kakumei knew he was being laughed at "I haven't seen myself look like that in 200 million years! The world shifted in that time mole, my land is clear across the world now. Here" Nasuada said, still chuckling a little, as she motioned towards the sand again. Immediately a large chunk of it exploded upwards and formed itself into a ball, another wave of her hand and the ball shifted to form a topographical map of the world. Yet another wave and the sand's mineral composition changed to display colors, which she then used to give the world it's usual coloration. By the time she was done, a perfect representation of the world was floating at eye level in front of her, centered on a large patch of tan that covered nearly nearly half of one of the larger continents. She pointed a finger at this patch. "That is my desert now. During the time of Pangaea I was more toward the center of the continent, it was a swamp on what would later be the coastline of Godwanna. Now I'm a desert in what the mortals call Africa." She snorted at that "As if they have any right to name me or my kin anything, little upstarts have only been crawling around productively for about 15,000 years." She glanced over at his map once again with a sense of wistfulness, she had enjoyed that time in her life, nestled all together with her kin, enjoying the feeling of life crawling over her. Not even the dinosaurs had formed yet but she had been excited to see what would come of the enormous insects and creatures that inhabited her swamp. She looked up at Kakumei "Your kind were away a long time."

Kakumei saw the new shape of the world and walked around the entire thing, looking at it in every angle. Moments later, he focused on his orb, the projection upon the face of the orb changed to match that which she had shown him. "This will be good for research..."

He pocketed his orb once more, and tilted his head. "So you.. You are naturally from this world? You aren't from other worlds? You haven't visited say like.. Gaia? Mavahti? Or what about that thing thats often referred to as the 'Moon'?"

Kakumei was highly interested, looking up in the sky to see if he could spot it. "We once had a way to get up there. As well to the other worlds. We probably still do, but many of our people don't remember the technologies once worked.."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 10, 2015 10:03 am

Nasuada nodded slowly, struggling to see why anyone would wish to travel to other worlds. "I was born during Hadean era of this world, rose to the surface alongside many of the land that became my kin. This world is all I know. As for the moon, it's nothing special beyond the fact that I lost several of my brothers when the rock collided with us and took a portion of us with it. Why I would I care for a graveyard?" Nasuada looked up at the sky to see that he was looking at but after a few moments grew uninterested in it. She motioned with her arm and let the sand globe fall. "If you're looking for the moon, wait until nightfall. It will be in a few hours. Depending on its phase, you should have a good view of it here. From what I've heard, the humans figured out how to fly to the moon and are looking for ways to leave in search of other planets. Good riddance I'd say. My brother should've listened when I told him to cause something and kill the lot before they spread."

"Well, there are others like you on other planets. As there are with me. And puh! You think humans are bad? Have you run across the ELVES? Those little bastards are just like the humans. Except they live longer and reproduce faster. Elves nearly poisoned all the seas! They tried to harness the core of the Earth to move it further away from the sun!" Kakumei shook his head, then walked to the edge of the water. "Humans have what? Steel and electricity? They have to manipulate the world around them with crude machines, and nothing more."

"It doesn't matter. The Arahitogami have always existed. We will continue to preserve ourselves and prosper. We always have." He chuckled, feeling a light wind pick up which caused his blue hair to snapped across his face. "Maybe I should have a bit of fun..." He stepped into the water, his body turning three-fourths of the way towards the sea. He moved his hands to and from slowly, the tide could be seen retreating slowly from the shores. "The water is harder to move closer to the core of the Earth, since gravity seems to pull on it much more. This water, is almost free."
PostPosted: Fri Sep 11, 2015 1:42 pm

Nasuada merely looked at the creature as he ranted, not impressed. She had no idea of anything he spoke of, since she was struggling to think of a time where elves ever acted like he described. As far as Nasuada was concerned Elves were some of the few mortals that were decent, well except for dark elves which had always been a grey area. "Humans seem to be doing just as badly as your elves. They have poisoned all the seas AND killed everything in it, destroyed every forest." Nasuada said mournfully.

And then he stepped into the water and started moving the water. She went berserk. Her sand exploded outwards into a massive sandstorm, picking up the rest of beach in a massive tidal wave of sand. "
TRY IT AND I'LL MAKE SURE YOU NEVER SEE THE SURFACE AGAIN MOLE!!!!" Nasuada screeched through the roar of the sand, fear rolling off her in waves.

Kakumei turned around quickly and growled sharply. "What is your problem? Are you making threats against me?" He didn't back up, in fact, he took a step forward, his body standing firm and unflinching with the sand whipping around his body.
