Warren started to rub his shoulder without thinking about it. It was still a little sore from his workout the other day. He tipped his head to the side and stared off as if it would help him remember. "Well I usually try to train with Pa, but I think I'm getting to strong for him. I nearly hurt his back and he was sore for a few days, so I can't fully train with him anymore. Pa's raptrix Duke has been helpful. I chase him around and try to catch him but I think he's just playing. None the less, it can get pretty exhausting." Warren turned back and shrugged. "I have been doing three times the amount of lifts, sit ups, and exercises I normally do. I push myself everyday." Warren knew his time as a prentice was well overdue, he needed to get moving so he could become a guard. It almost felt like there was an alarm going off and he was scrambling to reach it, like he had overslept.
"I want to be a fighter, or at least a guard for hire. But I feel like herding is just holding me back, I need to find a way to break out. Some one to train under." He clenched his fists, he felt like he was falling behind. It was that feeling that made him so restless. He never got a proper education, he often felt stupid or embarrassed that he was in his twenties and still without a job or title. Warren just sulked for a little bit. His awkwardness and appearance often made it difficult to network with other people or find a trainer. His own attitude and rudeness played a large part in it as well and Warren only had himself to blame.

Gaddok nodded, “Sounds like you got a pretty good training partner… but if you ever need some direction I know a guy who will definitely be looking for some help while I’m laid up.” Clearing his throat he continued, “His name’s Lon. He works at Voulon Metals in Dernd; A tough old b*****d… but a damn good trainer as long as you’re willing to listen to what he tells you and do some chores around his old hut.” Gaddok couldn’t help but crack a smile as he thought of all Lon has done for him, “He gives you shelter, feeds you, provides necessities, and will even come to your defense should you need it. I am definitely in his debt; would probably be up in the mountains had it not been for him…”There was a tap at the steps as Aerilyn stepped up into the room, “I made some bread and tea for you two… There are a couple loaves downstairs for you to take with you, Warren.” She said as she placed the tray on the chest at the foot of the bed. Aerie poured a cup for the two and prepared a small plate for Gaddok. Placing the plate on the nightstand next to Gaddok she kissed his head and smiled, “You look so sleepy, honey. Don’t push yourself.” Looking over to warren she gave a warm smile, “I’m not throwing you out or anything, I just wanted to let you know that you are welcome to return and visit at any time, and that I apologize for my earlier behavior.” Stepping back she retreated to the steps, “I’ll be downstairs if either of you need anything~” she chimed as she began the descent back to the main floor. Gaddok grabbed the plate of bread and took in the aroma, “It’s been ages since my mother made quick bread. Whenever she would visit her village she would bring back nuts to make several loaves.” He ate the first slice and swapped the plate for his cup of tea letting it rest on his chest so the vapor could steam his face, “It’s a sweet bread, but the nuts give it kind of an earth undertone. The tea smells like a green tea… a bit blander to balance out the bread.”

Warren was very interested in this Lon character. It was the only solid lead he had. Perhaps he could reason with him and use Gaddok as an excuse to train with him. He accepted the tea and bread. I was delicious and reminded him of a home, a safe place. It was what others might call comfort food. As he took in the food and drink he made a decision. He would stay at the inn with his father then seek out Lon in the morning.
"I will talk to Lon and see what he can offer me. He sounds like he has done you allot of good and maybe he can help me too." He wasn't discouraged by the thought of chores or manual labor, he did that all day. "Your mother is very nice, despite being terrified of me when I first walked in." Warren couldn't hold back the amused smile as he looked down at his tea. "But I think I will take her advice and make my way out of here. You do look rather terrible." He was joking again, a good sign. Warren was in the best mood he had been in a long time. He was happy he came to visit.

Gaddok gave a chuckle, “Give my mother some credit… she’s half my size and you’re at least a head taller than me, not to mention twice my mass in muscle. It’s imposing for a woman of her stature.” Holding tight to his side he winced into a breath to cease his laughing, “Lon’s right in the center of town, kiddy corner to the local tavern. Pretty hard to miss with the glowing forge, I suppose, but I know he could use the help… And I feel helpless just laying here like this.”
His expression shifted to a somber, almost depressed look, but he couldn’t help but crack a small smile at Warren’s final comment, “Yeah, Yeah… I’ll be sure to return the favor when you’re laid up like this. Take it easy out there, and thanks for stopping by. I appreciated the company.”

"I hope Lon can make use of me. I have never been good at making anything," although he was very good at breaking most things, "But this is a good step for me to see what I am capable of." His whole life he had pushed aldabuck all over Tale and western Sauti. He knew if he continued that lifestyle he would get stuck in it. He knew his father would be proud of him no matter what he decided, to stay, or peruse a trade or carrier.
He was proud of his friend Gaddok he was making a name for himself and had become a man. Although Warren was roughly the same age, he felt younger, left behind, like he did in school. It was obvious Gaddok's strongest muscle was his brain, quick to think and learn. What Warren lacked in smarts he made up for in brawn and determination.
Warren smiled at Gaddok's remark about his mother, something about her tiny stature made her very likable. "Thank you again for the tip about Lon. I will try to stop by and see you again soon if I can." He said as he stood up. He felt awkward again, this would have been the moment to hug, or shake a hand, or place a comforting hand on the friend's shoulder. His arms were stiff and to his sides and he wiggled his fingers as if they were looking for something to do.
"Well, I'm glad I came. I'll just make my way out, and try to look smaller so I won't surprise your mother again." He gave a small smile and hunched with his head tucked in. He looked like a bear trying to mimic a tortoise, as he made his way down the stairs.

Gaddok smirked, "Have faith my friend... Lon will make you a warrior in no time." He got a chuckle out of his awkward departure and was even more amused by the grumbling hiss that rolled out from under his bed. As Warren's figure disappeared under the attic floor Ruvaak sprang onto the bed and curled up at Gaddok's feet.Aerilyn whirled out from the counters in the kitchen and scooped up the basket Warren had brought with him, "Thank you for stopping by for a visit~ Gaddok really needed to see someone from his travels. I'm sure it will brighten his week." She placed the basket in his hand which held two additional loaves of her bread, "Be sure to stop again when you're in town. Take care~" She called as she fetched the door for him and saw him out. Elf Princess Flannery Aaaaand we shall call that a wrap~
