For the first time in a long time, Ripley looked completely, utterly, honestly surprised.
"That's the first time it worked." He admitted, surprise creeping into his tone, making his voice sound rather alien even to himself. Admitting that was probably not the best of ideas, but alas, what else could he do? Reality shot back to him as Wilhelm uttered a warning, making Ripley jump back a pace or two; the spear still hit his shins, but he managed to skip the majority of the damage that could have been dealt.
He shifted his weight quickly, and stomped one foot down on Nomi, pinning her between his shoe and the ground. Wilhelm swung again, hitting Jasper's shoulder with his blunt end.
HP: 21/40

Charge: 1/3

“Won’t be the last time I bet!” Grinned Jasper. “Damn you really have it out for my shoulders! I’ll have to keep that in mind when I play guard dog!” He used his own weapon for leverage, yanking it free and swinging to strike Ripley with the pole. HP: 3/40 Damage: 3 Charge: 2/3

"Disabling your opponent is better than simply disarming." Ripley explained, the surprise fading from his voice and expression, leaving him as stoic, or perhaps as ice-cold, as he had been before. "If they can't pick up their weapon any more, they aren't a threat." He continued, speaking the most amount of words at one time than he had in a long while. Instead of using Wilhelm this time, Ripley simply used his close proximity to press his foot against Jasper's shoulder - the one he had been aiming for most of this battle - in an effort to press him to the ground.

“Gah… well…yes, it does make sense.” He winced. “SHiiiit that hurts now.” Was Jasper’s dazed answer to the statement that Rip made. “I… should call you Bane that’s what, especially after that one attack…. So JUST this one, JUST THIS ONCE… I concede defeat, next time I won’t go so easy, ehh?” He winked. HP: Ow of 40

Jasper's admittance was enough to make Ripley believe that the fight was over, and that thought made the trainee pause, clearly stunned by the results. He...had won? He won? How? It was his first victory since the rather lucky shot back in the competition...
"Who is Bane?" Ripley replied, brow raised - clearly he was also a man who knew little about Batman's history. Wilhelm was desummoned and he held a gloved hand down to the defeated dark knight.
"Next time, then." He agreed, the hint of a smile on his lips.
