"Oh?" Twins. What was that like, she wondered. Looking after twin girls. How did it influence him? Clearly, he loved them. That had to count toward something. It was interesting how he - or people in general, really - could hold such love for their own, but care so little for the welfare of others. Perhaps caring for more than those closest to a person's heart exceeded the human capacity. Perhaps it was simply human nature to delude one's self into thinking that some lives were worth more than others. Part of a survival mechanism to keep others distant and protect the heart. A reluctance to add to the potential of pain.
This, Senka could cast back at herself. There were several people that she liked, but none she felt a particular bond with. Not since Bryanni, anyway. But her situation had little to do with a fear of such bonds as an unwillingness to remain in any one place long enough to form them. She felt no particular drive to throw her lot in with an individual or group, but she was not wholly against the idea, either. It would be a new experience. She was always willing to try new things at least once.
But this moment had little to do with her and much to do with learning about Logan. She sensed it was a topic that was more favorable to him. "What are they like, your girls?"
