"I don't know where I stuck the rest of them," said Gale petulantly, almost like a child. "I had them and then they were gooooneeee, but I didn't eat all of them, I promise, I only had one and then I...then I forgot what happened to the rest."
He let out a little giggle, his eyes still closed, a look of happiness on his face as she ran her fingers through his hair. Stormy's other hand was on his back, and it felt warm and reassuring and so very nice. "I like cuddling," he told her, very seriously, "and I like naps. I like cuddle naps. Caps. Nuddles. Naddles. That sounds very silly."
Gale lifted his head from her chest and tried to kiss her chin, but mostly missed and wound up kissing her cheek instead. Laughing to himself, Gale planted a messy kiss on her lips, then another, sighing against her mouth, because for the first time he felt good. He felt warm and pleasant and adored and just so very nice right now, and Gale couldn't remember the last time he had felt just plain good.
"Are you gonna stay with me foreeeeveerrrr?" Gale crooned, now kissing Stormy's neck. "You smell so good, I really love how you smell and you are so cute and so pretty and so nice."
A giggle. "You're stormtacular."

Oh this was just too cute.
"Aww~" she whined halfheartedly, still running her fingers through his hair. "Well, maybe after our naddles we could look for them."
Naddles. Stormy broke into a small laugh at just how silly those special cookies made him, which turned into a stream of giggles as he became increasingly determined to give her a proper kiss. She even went so far as to try and stretch her head away just to tease him, though the act didn't hold together for very long. Gale looked so happy that it didn't matter to her that it was while under the influence: it was a sight she treasured and wanted to keep for as long as possible.
A soft note left her as he moved to start kissing her neck, wiggling self-consciously as heart rate increased. "Mmhmm~ I used some vanilla in today since I know you like it," Stormy told him with an affectionate smile, rather aware that thanks to both of their actions she was now starting to slide beneath him; it was a tug of war trying to figure out if she wanted to let it happen just for a moment's bliss or keep firm and above the wonderful haze. Taking a third option, she settled herself better against the couch cushion and began gently coaxing to lay his head in her lap before she got too engrossed in the affection to stop him.
(Though she had to chuckle some more at stormtacular, not because it was particularly funny but because of the way Gale had actually giggled. Giggled.)
"And you are wonderful, handsome, amazing, precious, and cuddly~" She retaliated with a clean, short, warm kiss before sweeping away the bangs from his face. "And in need of a trim, I think. But we'll worry about that later. Reeeeeest, my lovely Galedilocks~" she cooed.

He liked the cuddles. The cuddles were nice, he could most definitely get used to those. Gale scrunched up his face as Stormy leaned teasingly away, but then she'd moved back, close enough that he could kiss her properly (or at least, sort of properly), Gale smiling against her lips. He wanted to bury himself in her arms, inhale every bit of her, let himself be enveloped by her sheer Stormy-ness.
"Vanilla, yes yes, vanilla is goooood," said Gale blissfully. He felt her shift and then she was gently trying to push his head in the direction of her stomach. He went easily, all things considered, as docile as a puppy, Gale wrapping his arms around Stormy's waist and wiggling around on the couch until he was comfortable. He nuzzled her tummy for a few seconds, poking his nose at her and laughing into the fabric of her shirt before he turned his head, laying the side of his face against her midsection. A sigh escaped his lips, Gale's eyes fluttering.
"You're so wonderful," he mumbled, his voice wavering in and out, an octave or two higher than he normally was. "Youuuu are sooooo wonderfulllllllll to meeeeeee..."
He snuggled up closer, and his eyes were fully closed now.
"Those were some good cookies," Gale said, in a muffled sort of way, before he fell asleep entirely, curled up against Stormy.

"Becauuuuuse you're wonnnnnderfuuuuuul to meeeeeee~" Gale's breath tickled as he nuzzled her stomach, but she managed not to burst into laughter--although it was very, very tempting when he kept talking like that, enough that she had to bite her lip. Keep it together, Stormy. She continued to stroke his hair with an almost painfully big smile, his bubbly state quite contagious; and it had been so long since she had felt this carefree that she had forgotten what it felt like. Just absolute, pure and concentrated silliness.
And seeing Gale like that--just at peace, without any of the pressure put on him--was like a balm to her soul. It reminded her that in spite of what they went through and in spite of his usual seriousness, there was still a boy underneath it. Or a man now, she supposed; they were both adults, even though she still struggled with her own self-image. (Her own self.)
"Happy dreaming, mi corazón," Stormy whispered with more adoration than she had dared to show for a while now.
She didn't dare move for a while, not until Gale's breathing became softer. Then, gingerly, she skimmed her fingers and followed the black striations going up his arm. It had been one of her funny little passing ideas, the kind that just bubbled up from the depths for no particular reason when she daydreamed or drifted: to map someone through their skin. She traced the marks left behind, the scars, the calluses, the contours of muscles, barely daring to do more than just ghost over his skin, to be quietly fascinated by the stories she didn't know and humbled by the ones she did. The hourglass in particular was new, but by the time Stormy reached it, she was starting to feel a little drowsy herself.
It was his warmth, she figured. Everything about him was infectious, and in her bid to dump everything of her old self out for the past couple of weeks, she thus had plenty of space to absorb that it. The longer she looked at him, the more normal (safe) she felt for reasons she couldn't put to words. And thankfully, right now that didn't matter.
The couch was comfy and his weight and warmth were welcome. Yawning, Stormy gently shifted herself to be more comfortable, kissed Gale's hair one more time, leaned back against the couch while securing him in her arms, and let herself float out of consciousness.

His dreams, needless to say, were of the more ridiculous variety, and definitely the more peculiar; a myriad of color and sound and confusion mingled with a cacophony of music. Gale wafted in and out of them, sometimes staying long enough to understand dimly what was happening, but most of the time bouncing from one dream to the next, until everything was just blurred together.
He awoke almost three hours later, and then wished he hadn't.
The throes of sleep were intoxicating; it took him quite some time to actually become lucid enough to force his eyes open, Gale flinching at the dim light that streamed in through his living room windows. He didn't move for a moment, merely squeezed his eyes shut again and tried to block out the throbbing that had begun in his skull; it felt like someone was playing the drums on his head.
What the hell?
Confused about where he was and what he was doing, he at least knew that: a) he was in his house; b) he was in his living room; and c) he was lying partially on top of something very warm and very comfortable, and it was not his couch. Gale shifted his head slightly, wincing, and there was a terrible taste in his mouth, like sawdust or sand. His right arm was pinned beneath something - someone - and he'd lost the sensation in it, pins and needles rippling up to his shoulder.
It took him approximately three seconds to realize he was lying with Stormy.
Color flooded Gale's face, and so did memories; fragmented, disjointed, messy memories of going to Mark's office, of running into that other hunter with the sickly sweet smelling cookies that had tasted rather strange; of texting Stormy - what had he done - and of warm, silly kisses, the feeling of her fingers against his skin and running through his hair.
Gale pushed himself bolt upright and regretted this decision immediately, because a wave of nausea washed over him, making him clap a hand over his mouth, his head spinning dangerously.
<< Please never do that again. >>
What the hell did I do?

He had to break through her arms to sit up, though even then her instinct was to shift and re-tie them more loosely around his waist. Stormy was still quite asleep, but that didn't make her grip any less solid. She had somehow managed to get partially on her side, half curled around Gale with her face half smushed against the cushions. One way or another, he also had one of her legs partially wrapped around him as well.
When Gale sat up she made a soft noise and scooted closer. Still heavily drowsy, Stormy let her leg slide off and mindlessly kissed his back, for some reason thinking it was his cheek. It was easy because he hadn't said a word--for all she knew, this was another dream. Or just a dream, as for once she didn't have one. It was a wonderful one, though, because she remembered that her hands had mapped out a good portion of him, and he had been smiling so warmly that he had fit the personal sun bit to a T, and she was back at his house like nothing had happened at all, just another curl on the couch with him being shirtless because this was her dream and she could do whatever she wanted.
< < You are almost awake. > >
Stormy mumbled nonsense under her breath, sighing softly. Thane would have to ruin her fun...
"Morning," she half whispered, half slurred, all muffled against his skin, her eyes still closed. She actually didn't know what time it was and didn't really care to know, because she very much wanted that feeling of motionless time to come back.

Stormy's arms were still looped around his waist - which, after a few moments of groggy awakening, Gale realized was bare because he had no shirt on. This caused a great deal of confusion and inner conflict, seeing as how Stormy was still fully dressed, which meant that nothing had happened while he was...under the influence (he was immensely relieved), but that didn't erase the fact that he was lying half naked on the couch with Stormy curled around him like an octopus.
He would have been lying if he said it didn't feel very comfortable and warm and sent tingles up and down his spine, but it also made him strangely anxious, especially considering what he dimly remembered he had done several hours prior.
A warm sensation on his back - Stormy had given him a small kiss, and Gale jerked involuntarily, his face flushed scarlet. She had moved closer, and he'd been tugged back down (he hadn't even managed to sit up that far, not with Stormy so wrapped around him). Gale's expression softened, and he moved one of his hands to rest on top of her thin arms.
"G...good morning," he mumbled, thoroughly embarrassed and stupidly shy all at once. He pressed his fingers into her arm, not wanting to lose the warmth of the contact, in spite of himself.
"Are you, erm...okay?"

"Mm~" She kissed the back of his neck this time and tasted hair and smiled to herself at the sound of Gale's self-consciousness. Not that Stormy didn't suffer from it as well, but she had been aware of it longer--that and her drowsiness made her take everything in stride much quicker. Well, and her eyes were still closed; that part was important, as her imagination could be vivid but also vague and sporadic, not so intense without visual stimuli. The body she was wrapped around was a formless warmth that required no additional physics applied.
She hummed again as he pressed fingers into her arm, pulling herself closer and a little more above his hair. "Should be asking you that," Stormy noted sleepily. "Sound okay now. Smell okayish, or more like me at least. Feel okay. Better than okay." Her smile grew. "Much better than okay." So, so, so much better than simply okay.
"D'you still want me t'be bare with you?" she asked much too innocently. And then, finding that too subtle, added with a giggle, "Or could you not bare that?"

Tingles shivered up and down his spine as she kissed his neck, spreading across his skin and warming him up rather quickly. Gale slowly flexed and unflexed his fingers, trying to stay calm; but at the same time, that was proving to be very difficult for a myriad of reasons, one of which was the fact that she kept moving closer (not that he discouraged this by any means). Not only that, but she seemed completely at ease with the fact that he was shirtless, when normally he felt she would have been shy.
Or maybe that was just him. Or maybe he was just still hallucinating.
Maybe that guy's cookies were still working on him.
"Good," said Gale, in spite of his rapidly beating heart and his spinning head that was making him very dizzy. "I'm glad you're okay, I, er...I mean, that is to say, that I..."
He trailed off stupidly, not having the right words coming into his head, and then heaved a sigh - his cheeks flushed a bright, scarlet red the more Stormy spoke, and Gale's sigh of distress became one of exasperation and mild frustration.
"I sent you some really stupid texts on your mobile, didn't I."

He was growing increasingly flustered, and part of her (the sleepy, more instinctive part) wanted to just turn him around, kiss her adorable boyfriend quiet, and pretend the world was just a haze of touches for a while longer. Or maybe that would exacerbate his issue more. That same part of her also suggested just going shirtless too to make him more comfortable, but even Stormy wasn't sleepy enough to actually validate that funny (awkward tempting awkward awkward) little thought. She really had been starved of contact, it seemed.
(Or Gale's confidence, though fueled by weed, had been far too charming.)
"Not stupid," she corrected him gently, almost patting his stomach but deciding it probably wouldn't help to make excessive movement. "But a lil' out've the norm, yeah." She remembered a text in particular--Sounds hot--and gave a few wheezy chuckles. "S'okay, baby~"
God, she couldn't say that with a straight face and didn't even try. How did people do that?
Reluctant as Stormy was about it, she loosened her grip and slid her arms away, allowing him the freedom to sit up and move. She intended to do so, though upon sitting up she found herself with a stiff neck and winced and immediately laid back down with a soft groan. "You're free from the clutches of the cuddle monster now," she informed him with a smile nevertheless, one eye closed from the discomfort as she rubbed at her shoulder and neck. "One who almost doesn't want to know where you found jacked up cookies."
Almost. She was still clearly waiting for him to explain now that his head wasn't quite so foggy.

He would have almost believed the not stupid part, were it not for the very obvious fact that a) he could still somewhat recollect them, and b) Jinhai was not about to let anything go, still laughing madly inside of Gale's head. Gale forcefully pushed the dragon's thoughts away, and instead tried to focus on the good of the situation, which was that a sleepy, warm, and cuddly Stormy was currently hugging him from behind.
At least until she had to go and remind him what he'd said, and Gale felt his face heat. He put his head in his hands and shook it, just once.
"I can't believe I..." he said, his voice muffled by his fingers, and he felt Stormy's arms slide away from him as she finally let go. Gale pushed himself somewhat vertical, though he stayed near to her, his hands pushing against his cheeks as he tried to alleviate some of the warmth and his own erratic heartbeat.
"I like the cuddle monster," he said, in some amusement, as Gale finally lowered his hands and twisted to look at Stormy. She was looking at him with an expression that clearly indicated he had some explaining to do, but Gale reached out and touched her cheek, leaning to press a gentle kiss to her lips first, just because he could.
Then he sat up and gave a sigh, digging his fingertips into the side of his throbbing head.
"...I don't really...well, there was this...guy that had them, I don't remember his name," Gale muttered. "I thought they were just...you know, cookies."

A kiss was a very good way to start that explanation, judging by her hum and the smile pressed against his lips. "Yes, I don't know why you like the cuddle monster either. But I thought you knew better than to take food from strangers," she laughed, shaking her head a little and then wincing again at its stiffness. She rubbed a hand around the back of her neck to where Nevada's scar began, finding very little alleviation. Both of them seemed to be waking up with an ache.
To be honest, though, it was the funniest thing she'd had in a long while and the easiest way to come back and hang out with him. Stormy had come to learn that their conversations fell towards the serious side since they always brought up what was going on, and starting them could be a little awkward: finding him baked was refreshing, ironically, and now she was relaxed, better rested, and with higher spirits than before.
"So, what else have you been up to?" she asked Gale, rolling forward and sitting up properly next to him. "I remember you mentioned a mission? Or," Stormy smiled and reached out, tapping the hourglass mark,"was that an excuse to go on leave without me?"
She knew him better than that, but approaching it lightheartedly might make it easier.

"Because the cuddle monster is cute," he said, in a very matter-of-fact sort of way. "And she has a pretty smile and likes Disney and she is her own princess and she is very warm and lovely when she's near."
Gale's cheeks were slightly pink as Stormy sat up, but he gave her a slightly amused look anyway that was half sheepish. "I don't," he said, "But he was a hunter, a new trainee or something, so I figured it was safe...or something...and Mark had some, but Mark's office was pretty much one big heap of smoke, and that should have definitely tipped me off."
Her fingers touched the tattoo on his arm and Gale turned his head to look at it, a slight frown crossing his face. Truth be told, he hadn't even noticed the mark until he'd gotten back from that mission...whatever it was, and after he'd been turned into someone else (which had very fortunately not been permanent). Gale let out his breath and slanted a look towards Stormy, looking suitably abashed.
"I was dragged into it by Oz," he said, by way of explanation. "We just...we went through a portal, and there was someone there - someone..." Gale lifted a hand, rubbing absently at his forehead. "They offered us all - Otto, Lucky, Shiloh, and Quinn were there too - a single wish in exchange for...finding something. Or something. It's all a little confusing, but afterwards this was on my arm."
Gale turned his bare arm upwards. "I don't know what it means, but I'm not certain I'm all that keen to find out, either."

"Well," Stormy echoed in the same factual tone, "I suppose those are some logical reasons to like her." She would have gone on in turn to list out compliments, but she was too busy beaming and wiggling in her seat idly with pleasure to pursue the (large) list in her head.
It died bit by bit into a thoughtful, if somewhat confused look as Gale told her what he could remember. The idea of anyone tampering with his memory again put her a little on edge--they had gone that route once, and while it was localized to this one event, she couldn't help but feel the familiar p***k of paranoia--and it didn't help that it happened to multiple people either. The hourglass reminded her of a black widow spider, and that alone was enough to make her dislike it, wish granting or not. That, and the fact that others were still able to leave tangible marks on him bothered Stormy for petty reasons.
(What was left on the heart didn't always compare. It was good to feel but better to see sometimes, to know it was there rather than simply believe.)
She gently pressed her fingernail to his skin until a crescent indent was bisecting the mark. "Then we won't worry about it." Not today at least.
Her expression brightening again, Stormy kissed his cheek and nudged him with her shoulder. "Go get a shirt, Galestorm," she said. "I wanna show you my new room while it's still clean~" She did have a tendency to leave minor chaotic messes, as was evidenced by the scattered books she had left before in his house, the plushies found in rather random places and poses, clothes left lying out in the guest room, and half-finished reports that fell to the wayside and were filled with different thoughtst that happened to strike her that day, to name a few.

"You know me," said Gale, giving a quick, knowing smile to Stormy, his eyes twinkling merrily. "I'm always the logical one. I can give you a rather large list of pleasurable attributes if you need one."
He wasn't sure if he should tell her about the part where he'd woken up as Quinn McGonagall, because that had been a disaster in and of itself, not to mention thoroughly awkward. He hadn't ever found out who'd been the one to be in his body, but Gale sincerely hoped that they had not caused any trouble by doing so. Fortunately, twenty-four hours later, he'd woken up himself again, but it had still been relatively horrifying.
Gale rubbed his fingers absently along the black hourglass. It was on the wrong arm, opposite to the one that had the black burns still etched onto his skin, the Ourboros marking half hidden among the tangles of black; it was on the inside of his wrist, just below his hand. The hourglass, on the other hand, was on the inside of his right arm, just below his elbow. It made him frown slightly; there was something strangely ominous about it.
But Stormy had kissed his cheek and Gale forgot about the tattoo for now, instead turning to look at her with raised eyebrows. "New room?" he said keenly. He'd known she was moving after she was promoted, but this was the first he'd heard of her actually been done moving. A part of him was slightly disappointed she hadn't asked him for help moving, but the rest of him - and Jinhai - gently reminded him that it did not really take that much effort in moving things up a floor unless the person had a lot of stuff.
Gale smiled. "Give me a minute," he told her, and stood up quickly - a little too quickly. He swayed where he stood, momentarily nauseated, but then the wave of dizziness dissipated (mostly), and he patted the top of Stormy's head reassuringly.
"Remind me never to eat anything I haven't made myself without checking it first," he said dryly, and slowly but surely made his way upstairs where, in the safety of his bedroom, washed his face and hands thoroughly (the cold water was invigorating and restoring) before changing entirely into a pair of khakis and a plain blue button down shirt. It was warm out, but Gale had tugged the sleeves of the shirt down over his arms deliberately, wanting to distract from the markings.
He came back into the living room ten minutes later and made a beeline for Stormy, sliding their fingers together automatically.
"Okay," he said, and kissed the side of her head. "Let's go. Show me your new castle, princess."
