Maeron Aredan andDarke Frost Expert Orderite Warrior and his Bonded Farms Near Lake Tyluafel
Darke rolled his eyes and hissed in annoyance as the girl started to walk away from them. The only thing that stopped him from stomping a foot into the ground was the amount of people nearby. 'And what am I to do by myself if one does come along?' He puffed up his chest feathers and fanned his wings. 'I will take your two-leggers scouting. You will stay with the girl.' The Aiskalan trounced past Mae, even as the boy glowered at him and opened his mouth to argue. Darke swatted him with his feathered tail before beckoning to the other two Guardians. "Come along then," he commanded as the two cast confused glances between the partners. "We've a whole forest to explore, and we haven't got all day."
One look at the heated look in the Khehora's gaze was enough to send them scampering to obey, leaving Mae to stand alone in the grass to simmer. 'At least be careful, then,' his thoughts hissed out to Darke's retreating frame. His answer was a mixture of murmured consent and amusement.
With a scowl, Mae trooped off to find the girl. She seemed to have headed toward the barn. At least that was inside, so she wasn't a completely disobedient kid, really... He stood in the doorway, completely uncertain what he should actually do now that he was left alone with her. "So... Have you got a name or anything?"

Suluksati threw up a shield with barely more than a thought, a barrage of metallic fragments plinking harmlessly against it and falling to the ground like shining teeth as she glared at the orderite. She bared her own teeth in a tense growl.
"Understandable." she said, her voice strained with the effort of holding back her distaste for the dragon hunters and for the 'title' they had given her. How self centered it was to deem her an 'Orderite Killer'. Dovaa, too had been slain by her claws, and she knew that she would be willing to kill Oblivionites too for her cause. Khehora... perhaps not. Perhaps she would never cross that line.
"Then I will give you a message for her. That is acceptable." She rounded on the Orderites, not-so-subtly intimidating. "I have information about the place that the mara originate. It is guarded by a barrier of magic: light, but also earth. It is strong and grounded, and cannot be broken by a physical attack." She shimmered, gathering her energy, "But when I attacked it with magic..." she turned her head and fired a bolt at a clothed mara, shattering it, "Like so.." she met the Orderite's eyes, "I was able to tear the barrier and push it apart with my claws." she flexed her forepaws, to demonstrate. "I was attacked and distracted, and the barrier restored itself swiftly." she lashed her tail, "But with more magic, and more strength..." she let the end of the sentence fall into implication.
"Tell your leader my story, Orderite." She stretched her wings flapping them once, "And perhaps she can right these wrongs." with a powerful leap, she was in the air, circling high above as she made her dramatic exit. "And remember this, too." she called down to them as she ascended, "I am the defender of dragons, not a mere murderer." and with that, she flew swiftly away, towards the wilds of Serenia...
Sueno checked up on the animals in the barn, but they were only slightly restless... mostly cause Gazini smelled of blood and the scent of Khehora was in the air. She fed them, gave the more afraid ones a pat then headed out, grabbing the brush and towel to clean the blood off of Gazini. Outside of course.
She handed the orderite boy a bucket as well. Since he was still here... might as well make him be useful. "Ah'm called Sueno. Can ye go fill that up from the well? Ah need to get Gazini cleaned." She figured he'd been left behind to keep watch while the feathered Khehora went with the other two people she'd barely seen to go... search? Check the area? What does one talk about to some strange boy? He wasn't from around here, and she was sure he wasn't interested in ranching or farming.. the main topics people talked about around here. Gazini was still prancing around outside and the warrior had remained behind, so she wasn't to scared of more of the mara coming in, which just left her a little nervous around the stranger.

Hullo XD
High above the fray, Suluksati flew. Soon, war below gave way to shining golden forests and sunlight, a scene of wild and idyllic peace under her troubled wings.
Her intent, on taking off, had been to return to her birthing grounds for the first time in - goodness - it had been decades and recruit the help of her kinsfolk.
But as she flew in the solitude of the Serenian skies, she felt a powerful reluctance: she did not want to go home. She did not want to face her family after her juvenile outburst and its eventual blossoming into a life quest.
She did not, especially, want to face her sister and see the pain and betrayal and anger in those eyes again.
So, instead, she flew out over the farmlands to the East, remembering two young Orderite girls with farms in the area. She wondered how they fared, as she could see, in many of the fields, the dark blocky warm shapes of sheron in fields, implying the farmers were still present - present and vulnerable.
She flapped, her gliding swift and effortless as she passed over a farm that was somewhat familiar. As she scanned the ground, she heard the familiar beat of wings in the air, and she looked up to see a khehora - distinctly unfamiliar (and blue) in the air as well.
"Hello!" she called, slowing and, with a backstroke of her wing, changing courses to approach the other, "Have you seen any orderites about?"
Hi! Just a warning, Criani is rather strange at times ^^"
Criani Peisio Khehora, Feral Battler Avani's home, near Lake Tyfuel
Criani had seen and smelt the new comer in the skys before they had hailed her. She studied the newcomer for a moment and deiced she wasn't a threat to those below. She smelled of battle, but it was of magic she smelt not bloodshed of Magescans... well not fresh bloodshed anyway....
Criani stopped in her vigilance of the little Orderite's farm for a moment and said, "Hello!" she said to the newcomer, "Of course I have seen Orderites about, this is Serenia is it not?" she laughed and then said, "If we can take our discussion to the ground below at that farmhouse there, I can protect it better while we talk."
Criani landed right in the grassy part of the yard of Avani's farmhouse. Hopefuly the girl had sense and staid inside while Criani talked to this other Khehora.
Criani waited as the new comer landed near her and then said, "I am Criani, and live near Lake Tyfuel. The waters around here have been very active and have told of strange goings on around the land, so I took to the skies to protect this place that I love." Criani smiled and said, "The little two-legger who lives here was set upon by some strange being made of rock, but she took it down without much trouble." Criani shrugged, "She might have been able to take one down, but if any more came to this place, she would be in trouble. So I stayed to make sure this area had no more of those beings around."
Criani had smelled the presence of a young Khehora on the land and on the girl. She had no idea if she was bonded, but the fact that there was a youngling here made Criani even more glad she had stayed to protect the place.

AvaniandHonoka Orderite Adept Farmer, Civilian/Feral Orakoi Avani's family ranch near Lake Tyluafel.
Avani was dozing in the comfy chair by the window inside her house. She felt safer knowing a large khehora was watching her house. Her little baby khehora was sleeping in her lap, and Nix was by Avani's side sleeping as well. Avani breathed a sigh of relief. No more of those monsters were around, or at least they hadn't come into the yard like the other had.
She then saw movement in the yard, and snapped to attention. She relaxed a bit as she saw the familiar sight of the new blue khehora, Criani.
She then heard a thump on the floor and saw Honoka trying to right herself onto her legs. Avani smiled and sighed. Her baby was a klutz, but she loved her anyway.
Avani looked to the window again as she saw another khehora come and land next to the other. Something about the other khehora tugged at her memory....
They seemed to be talking... She wondered in any more monsters were about...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Honoka stood up and shook herself out. Getting out of Mama's lap was hard, but she had woken up at the noise of the same big khehora that Mama had talked to before. Maybe the monsters were back, and she could help Mama this time!
Honoka ran to the door and started peeping for her Mama to let her through. She didn't know the words yet for the object her Mama and the other's used to get out. It was rather frustrating being small!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Avani watched Honoka scamper to the door. She bit her lower lip in wondering if she should let the little one at least onto the porch to see the bigger khehora, but the threat of more monsters stopped her short. Perhaps she could hold Honoka and stay close to the door?
She picked up her small baby and opened the door a bit. She smiled and let Honoka see the other big creatures. "See the big khehoras? You'll get that big one day too!"
Oblivion said she'd probably get bigger than him, but that was rather huge! She'd have to get another house to live in with Honoka when she got bigger...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Honoka wanted down! She wanted to see the bigger people! She tried nipping at her mother, but Mama wouldn't have any of that, and kept her fingers away. So she just tried wiggling to get out of her arms. But Mama was too smart for that too!
"Greetings, then. I am Suluksati." she landed gracefully, shifting her wings into a comfortably snug position. Although happy in the air, she had to admit it was somewhat inconvenient to hold a conversation in it.
"Your quest is noble, and indeed, monsters are attacking, creations of the Orderite leader, or so I hear..." Suluksati frowned at the farm, "So there are still orderites out here?" she lashed her tail. The farm was not familiar - all farms looked the same to her, but there was something about it that was a little more familiar than the others...
"If you wish to protect them, perhaps we should assist them in moving to the city..." she hesitated, "The place where the two leggers live, with the shining stone spires. Or at least to others of her kind. She will be safe among them..."
Suluksati had important things to do, like stopping the mara, but...the evacuation and protection of innocents was also important. And, perhaps, it would gain her allies against that horrible barrier. She looked towards the farmhouse. "Just one, or more?" she asked, lashing her tail, "Of the Orderites. There are countless mara swarming the shores..."
Criani shook her said and said, "So that is what the monsters are called. The water whispred of many, and that much blood has been shed. But it gave no name.... I hope that the two leggers will be able to save this land."
"There is one in that house there." Criani said nodding her head towards the house. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the orange hair two-legger. peeking from out side of the door. She was holding a squirming youngling. Even in the serious of the moment, Criani had to chuckle. The two-legger had no idea what was coming her way when it grew up... Criani looked to the other and said, "It would be safer to keep them with their own kind, but the farms here are more important that the city. If the, er, Mara find out about the importance of the farms, the city is truly lost."
Criani knew of the city. It fascinated her. She had tried to find out more about it, but the two-leggers apparently hated Khehora apparently....
"The important part is that this farm has a Orakoi. The girl smells of the hatchling..." Criani then looked to the girl to the door, "Come here Avani, it is safe, do not worry. And bring the hatchling out too!"
The fact a hatchling was here worried Criani. But if the little Orderite could be with an adult of her own kind, she knew the little Khehora would be safe as well and she could go to other farms.
AvaniandHonoka Orderite Adept Farmer, Civilian/Feral Orakoi Avani's family ranch near Lake Tyluafel.
Avani jumped as Criani called her name. And to bring Honoka out too!
Well, she got a good feeling from this new khehora, so she wasn't too afraid.
"Come on Nix." Avani said as she opened the door wider. She grabbed the scythe she had used with the rockman just in case.
She let Honoka onto the ground and said, "Stay close to me Honoka."
Honoka didn't care what her Mama wanted, and scampered to the large khehora's, tumbling only once as she tripped on her feet. She resumed running and skidded to a stop bumping into the large fluffy one. Her eyes widened at the softness. Mama said that her father was a fluffy khehora... Did he look like this one?
Honoka chirped and smiled up at the big fluffy one.
Avani reached Honoka, Nix scampering after her as well, and said, "Silly baby!" she said. She placed the syhte on the ground and smiled up at the fluffy khehora, "Sorry about that, she's a little bit of a klutz..."She picked up Honoka and cradled her as she said to Criani, "Is there something I can do for you?"
Criani made what Avani thought was a smile and said, "Is there a place you can go with the little one? Where there is adult two-legger?"
Avani thought for a moment and said, "I could possibly go over to Shenra. She has a farm over the Apple orchards there." Avani turned and pointed towards the orchards, "It's not far, and I'm sure she would welcome us."
Shenra knew of Honoka, and loved the little khehora, so Avani knew it wouldn't be a problem.
"I do not know if that is what they are called, exactly..." admitted Suluksati. She'd heard it somewhere, perhaps even in the rumbles of the stone soldiers, but she did not know when it had become a part of her consciousness. "It comes, I think, from the area of Eowyn that they Originate from - the Maralan Penninsula. It is less of a mouthful than 'Hideous stone abominations against nature', I must admit." She inwardly winced at her own attempt at humor.
The humorous moment was soon past, of course. "I hope so too..." Suluksati looked at the barn, "I know little of farms, but I can see... how they would be important, as producers of food?" she shook her head. Agriculture was still strange to the khehora.
"An Orakoi?" she said, surprised, jerking her head back to stare, her amber eyes wide, at the Peisio. "Then it is all the more imperative that we ensure their safety!" she said, feeling the primal desire to 'protect' strengthen within her into a resolve, equal to her other resolves. She was about to ask if the little one was bonded, when the Orderite girl was called out.
She smelled familiar, looked familiar, and...
"Avani!" she greeted, waving her tail pleasantly. "I had worried about you!" it was not hard to remember the kind young orderite female who had helped her, considering how few Suluksati met in her travels. Memories of straw, sheron, and jerky floated to the surface.
She looked down as the little one skidded into her leg. Gently, and protectively, she lifed her paw so that the little one was under her. There was no danger, but... Suluksati just felt more comfortable that way, with the Orakoi where she could see and bodily protect it. She gave the Orakoi a light snuggle.
"Oh its perfectly all right!" she said, with meaning. She loved children, even the little hunters who set out to kill dragons. The poor dears didn't know any better. The adults with them, however... "Hello there, little one." she rumbled. She looked up. "Yes, it would be better for you to stay with others. There is strength in numbers." she commented, looking up briefly from playing with the child, in the direction that Avani pointed, "That is not far. Good." She glanced at Criani, "We should take them there as soon as possible, before the... invaders... arrive"
The people out in the country of Serenia have gathered into an army, lead by the Guardians, Experts, and Masters of their people they march on the Mara besieging their Capitol. But while they do so, they must also send out guards to the Lakes. The Mara have finally figured out the healing properties of the lakes, and have a small armor along the shores and area's surrounding it.
They seek to keep the fleshy beings away from this source of healing; they also seek to break the magic within it, or defile it somehow. It is up to those nearby to keep them from dumping all the dead bodies they have gathered into it.
The Peisio's and Ysali's in the area, angered and incensed at this transgression... have joined int he fight. They attack ALL who approach the lakes... though a Magescian or Khehora may be able to approach and convince them that perhaps an alliance would be best to keep the Lakes clean.
In the next few days, the army of Orderites shall surround the besieging Mara and the Orderites within the City shall ride out. The city is preparing for this fight: knowing they need to break it now or abandon the city to save the Lakes. Aevah will not allow the healing lakes, gifts of her goddess to be defiled. A city can be rebuilt, but the land takes much longer to heal.
OOC: All near the city get to have the next few days to prepare for the fight before the army's clash.
Those around the lakes get to have fun being raided some more. Dragons though are now quite visible and can be found all along the banks. You may attack them..you can find Peisios and Ysalis. But if you do so, you must roll a minimum of 5 dice (they are in groups) and can no longer approach the Dragons as allies.
If you do not attack them but instead try to approach and talk with them, they do understand your language... but a Khehora or Dovaa will be needed to understand what they are saying.
Criani Peisio Khehora, Feral Battler Avani's home, near Lake Tyfuel
Criani smiled at the little one who was playing with Sulu. It seemed this small Orderite had a good strong Orakoi. Bonded or not, it was something else that connected Criani with this land. At least she and Sulu would have a chance at protecting the young of the world.
"Very well Avani," Criani said looking back to Avani, who was pointing over to a bunch of trees, "I will escort you and your young one there." Criani saw her hesitation as she looked down at the playful Orakoi. Criani smiled and said, "Do not worry, we will watch the young one while you gather some things if you wish, and then we can move out. I will talk with Sulu as we do."
Criani looked around at this farm and prayed to what ever god would listen that it would be safe.
As Avani went inside, Criani looked back to Sulu, "What can you tell me about the situation? I would like to protect Serenia, but if I am needed elsewhere I will go."
Before deciding anything, she would listen to the water. The most elemental energy that coated the land of Serenia was ether the water or the earth, and since she was a Peisio, she would do what she would do best and consult the magic in the water for what it knew of this menace.
Avani remembered Sulu the moment she spoke and smiled brightly.
"Welcome back Sulu! I have some sheron strips if you wish!" The situation was serious, but she couldn't help being a gracious host.
Avani watched Honoka as Sulu played with her. She was nervous, only because she felt a motherly instinct, and hoped Sulu wouldn't crush her!
Avani nodded at Criani as the khehora told her to go get ready, she looked worriedly at her baby for a moment, but pulled herself together as Criani said she would watch her.
"Thank you. That should speed things up." She looked at Nix who was watching Honoka as seriously as Avani would. She smiled and said, "Stay here Nix! I'm going to get some things and food ok?"
And with that she turned and ran into the house.
~~~~~~~
She grabbed Kin and her money from behind the shelf where she kept her valuables. She went and hid her mother's jewelry box. Nothing but keepsakes, but she had no idea what these monsters would take....
She then went and gathered bread and dried meat. A lot of that because who knew how long she would be held up at Shenra's.
After shoving that into her largest backsack, and putting it around her shoulders, she took some paper and a pencil. She wrote a note for her parents and tacked it onto the post by the front door. Hopefully Mama and Papa would be safe wherever they were, she would do the best she could here.
She then bounded out the door, locked it, pocketed the key and headed back to the two Khehora who were watching Honoka and Nix.
"All done!" Avani said smiling. She bent down and picked up the sythe. She wasn't about to loose her one tool of self defense. "Ready to go!"

Our first order of business may actually be to protect the lakes XDDD
Sulu remembered those dried sheron strips, but her meal of the morning still sat happily in her stomach and she did not want to take food from someone who may well need it soon. "No, that is quite all right - take some with you, though..." she said, thinking of the little khehora at her feet.
As Sulu watched Avani go, she turned to Criani, her look serious.
"As far as I can tell, the Mara are from Eowyn and swarming the shores of Serenia. They have an army, and they produce more in the Eowyn bay nearest to Serenia. I went there, and I tried to break through on my own, but they have a barrier that protects their... I hesitate to call it a city... And it resisted my efforts." she nudged Honoka with a claw gently, playing with the little one. "Magic broke the barrier temporarily, and I had hoped I could convince the Oderites to send mages - or perhaps their leader - to right their own wrongs, but..." she remembered the Orderite Solider, "I delivered my message, and I doubt that their army will do much." she said bitterly. Convincing them was more difficult than convincing dragons.
"So I shall have to find allies elsewhere." Which was definitely not Suluksati's strong suit.
Criani Peisio Khehora, Feral Battler Avani's home, near Lake Tyfuel
Criani laughed at Sulu's faith in the two-leggers. The ones who accepted Khehora's as Avani did were few and far between. More than once had she been run off land because of the race of her birth.
"Few accept us, even ones such as I who do not eat their precious animals." Criani said smiling, "But, if we show we are here to kill a few of these Mara, then I foresee no problem during the battle." Criani shrugged and said, "Regardless of who created them, they are a menace. For all I know the ones who created them are probably getting there due with all the madness these Mara are causing."
Criani watched as Sulu played with the young one. It tried to claw at her, but was happy trying to n** at the feathers that were hanging down off of Sulu's body.
"You know where they are coming from, eh?" Criani said still watching the Orakoi, "At least you did all you could to tell their leader." She looked up at Sulu again, "Perhaps another Khehora would persuade the leader to go after them there."
Criani nodded her head, "If there are no pressing matters here in Serenia, I will go with you, and see if this leader will listen two Khehora instead of one."
Criani was then distracted by Avani coming out of the house and announcing she was ready to go. She sure was fast for a two legger. Perhaps she understood the seriousness about what was happening as much as Criani was beginning to.
The little orakoi lost attention in Sulu and ran up to Avani, as well as the littler... er, fea, was it? They both wrapped themselves around her ankles, and as she bent down to pick up the scythe, she placed the blue one on her shoulder, and picked up the orakoi who settled into the crook of her arm purring...er, as purring as a Khehora could.
"Ready to go?" Criani asked
"Yes." Avani said smiling, "That hammer can go too as Shenra can use it for whatever she wishes, but, er..." her face turned red, "I have my hands full..."
Criani crowed with laughter and picked up the dead mara hammer, "No problem!" She turned to Sulu, "Ready?"
