"Will your friends be at the beach today too? It seems as though everyone is here!" Anelie looked over at her mother as she took her first step onto the sand. It immediately starting to burn her feet and quickly slipped back into her sandals. "Maybe…" she answered, flashing her mother a disarming smile. 'I don’t have time for friends' wasn’t exactly what a mother would want to hear her twelve year old saying and so Anelie kept her own council. "Maybe I’ll make some new ones today." It wasn't long before their little family had set up their own little towel city, complete with over-sized umbrella, shade tent and a big cooler full of drinks. Anelie had been lathered in a mountain of sunscreen, her mother muttering a steady stream of 'Es ist so heiß' and since she didn't feel like swimming yet, a walk along the shore seemed like the next best option. Only a short distance away a young girl was playing with an older boy (a brother perhaps?) and Anelie stopped to watch them build their sandcastle. It did look like fun… the_scowling_cat Ah, I hope you don't mind. <3

Merric noticed her first, given the bright green hair and because Jenn's back was to her. The girl seemed interested in the sand castle and looked around Jenn's age. He tapped his little sister on the shoulder and pointed behind her.
"We have an observer. Would you mind if they came an helped?" he asked, wording the question carefully. Jenn was... a brat at times and threw tantrums if you spoke to her wrong. Or insinuated that they would take over. So he had to leave it open to her decision first, and let her bring the other girl over. Hopefully she wouldn't start crying and making a fuss.
--
Thankfully, Jenn didn't. She turned and looked at the other girl for a moment before turning back to her brother. She nodded. "Sure, she's worthy of my court! More the merrier in making the castle anyway!" The girl stood up and walked over to the green haired girl and held out a hand.
"We're making a sand castle. Do you wanna join? I'm the Princess, but there's a whole court empty if you wanna be something too. Oh, and I'm Jenn." She grinned at her. She'd proclaimed her position as Princess so it couldn't be taken from her, and invited her to their sand castle. Everyone was happy!Ruriska I do not mind at all, come on over!

Oh Lily couldn't wait, it was the 4th of July and they were parking at the beach and she was so excited because Phina had closed her store for the holiday, with a note on the window saying they all needed time with there families and so she'd gone straight to her brother and told him point blank they were going to the beach today and he was going.
Not that he would have objected anyway because the beach equaled water and her brother she swore might have been a fish in his pastlife, maybe a merman. Hell, anything was possible in her mind these days.
She climbed out the car after her brother park, turning to hear her name called and laughing lightly to see her boss pulling things from her own car not to far away. She gave a happy wave before pointing to her brother as he climbed out of the car.
Xander started to gather all the things out of the car; towels, chairs, an umbrella, a cooler. He didn't need any of those things as barely left the water at the beach, but he knew they were good to have and that his sister would find some time to lounge if he didn't disappear.
"Lily," he called to his sister, "can you carry the towel bag. I've got everything else." He froze however to feel a hand in his hair and looked up expecting to see Cerise who seemed to find him everywhere, but instead saw Phina Lily's boss, clad with beach things.
"Finally get to see you in all your wholesome goodness," she started before she was pulled away by Lily.
"Stop teasing Phina. It's not very nice and he actually brushed his hair today, dont mess it up before we even get to the beach. It will look like a rat's nest by the end of the day as is." She grabbed the towel back and chair from Phina before giving the woman a shove towards the beach.
Xander for the most part was a little lost, but for once not entirely and felt like maybe today would be a good day to avoid Ms. Lace, but not thinking he was going to be successful at it and thinking it probably wouldnt be the most gentlemanly of things. He closed up the car and headed after the girls, but hanging back a bit.
"Phina you really shouldn't tease so much. I swear some of the males customers probably are getting mixed signals, half of them come just to have you fawn over them. Though tons of the women come for the same reason ... I think."
Phina shrugged, "I can only be who I am. I'm a bit of a free spirit. You're to sweet and wholesome like your brother to understand. Maybe one day, maybe. Now hand over the chair, I'm going to go find a nice sunny spot and tan. Enjoy yourself."
Lily just gave her an if you say so look before saying her goodbyes and turning around to her brother behind her, "Come on Xander. There's a good spot over there. Oh oh and I see Paris, and Chris, and Tallulah. Guess it's a beach day for every one."
Xander just shook his head and hurried over to his sister, "go go I'll set up and then I'm going to swim."Quote: Feel free to interact with Lily, Xander or Phina!

When the brother noticed her standing there, Anelie’s cheeks flushed red. She hadn't meant to be so obvious, but if they were going to ask, well… The young girl was already kneeling down beside them in the sand before her new 'Princess' had even finished talking. She smiled brightly at them both, hands held primly in her lap. Sometimes she felt too old for silly games and having fun but today, she could just enjoy herself and pretend. "My name is Anelie. Wait, Lady Anelie. I’m an important supporter of the princess and a powerful warrior… oh and I have a giant wolf as a pet." She started pulling sand together to be a wall. "And thank you... for letting me play too."

Chris made an attempt to frown, but it came out more as a pout as Paris pulled him closer by the band of his trunks, making a disgruntled noise as if he was afraid she might end up making him spill the two drinks he had in his hands. He realized he was probably being the biggest stick in the mud, but he still wasn’t comfortable with her drinking while under twenty-one.
“No, I’m good,” he declined her offer to let him taste, sparing only a quick glance towards Talullah and Nick, as fussing at Paris clearly took priority. “Your mom isn’t exactly the best role model… no offense…” he grumped, shifting his feet in the sand with nothing better to do. Eventually he let out a sigh and moved to sit down at the end of the lounge chair Paris had claimed for herself.
She was obviously enjoying herself, and as she was spoken to by Nick and Talullah, Chris just huffed at the drinks he’d brought over, like the mature adult he was.

The waves were pretty sweet. He was cold at first, and still got the chill's when a breeze brushed his wet body, but now he was comfortable in the cool ocean water. He was bogie boarding every wave he could get and was loving it. For Quinn it was a rare day of doing nothing productive. It was July 4th and his folks decided to go to the sea side for the weekend and Quinn tagged along. He had the days off from work and since Isis was sleeping back in the condo, he had no need to worry about anything. As the 21 year old sat on his blue board, waiting for the next wave, he surveyed the beach. There were so many people there it took him a few moments to spot his own family. His mom lounging under a beach umbrella, a book in hand, while his father played in the sand just inside of the high tide mark. It was really strange to see a large, still pretty well toned, dirty blond grown man working with a plastic shovel and bright yellow pail building a rather simplistic sand castle. Curious as to what he was doing he took the next wave in and before he knew it Quinn was staggering out of the surf a few feet from his father. He ran his fingers through his own sandy blond hair, dislodging water and sand. "Dad what are you doing?" He shoved his board under his arm and walked closer, close enough to see his father was making a dribble castle. "Trying to see if its possible to replicate the chaos/order that the computer program does." If Quinn didn't know about the program his dad was currently working on he would be confused as all get out but as it was he just shook his head and quickly dropped his board off with his mom, giving her a quick peck on the cheek. It was time to dry off and see if any of his friends had made it... and to keep his mind off of other chaos/order situations that he had finally agreed were real. Quote: Please feel free to rope Quinn into a game or just talk to him ^^'

Jenn looked at her. A wolf? Man this one had status. She was a good supporter of the kingdom and the princess though. It was good to have her on their side. Especially when the council was plotting to over throw her. Oh, this was a secret, but she could see it, how the Prime Minister looked at her. Even now, across the castle, he watched her every move. She would need all the help she could get.
(The Prime Minister being her brother, of course.)
"A wolf? You must come from very far and be very strong to control such a beast. It is an honor to have you by my side, Lady Anelie." She leaned over to her, to whisper in her ear. "Just watch for the Prime Minister over there. He's plotting something, I know it." Jenn giggled a little then went back to building her section of the castle.
--
Merric chuckled and shook his head. She was incredibly adorable sometimes. He smiled at Anelie and welcomed her to the group. He was mostly their for structural support and to make sure Jenn didn't wander off and get kidnapped. She had reign of this parade though.

Anelie giggled and gave a sidelong glance towards Merrick. “Don’t worry, my wolf and I shall guard you without fail, my princess,” she whispered back and then gave a stern nod to show her devotion. “We should hold a feast in honour of your long and happy reign,” she suggested as she pushed sand into a tower shape. This was so fun. If only her real like could be more like this.

Jeanne hadn't been out for a beach day for a very long time. There wasn't a lot of time, with her mother's restaurant and all- but for the Fourth of July weekend, she'd managed to make time, by saying she was going with a friend, which thrilled her mother to no end.
Specifically her girlfriend, but that was a discussion no one needed to have, really. She'd packed some food and drinks into a cooler, and she stood on the beach, wearing nothing but a string bikini with a chainmail pattern (because she would be an MMO joke if she wanted to, damn it.)
"How long are we stayin'?" She asked Keren, setting down the cooler and sitting down on it. "'Cause I'd like t'make it as long as possible."Clarisse practically skipped down the beach and into the water, spinning around and beckoning for Quinn. It had been a rough few months for both of them, and even if the whole mess had led to good things (specifically whatever the beautiful thing blooming between them was - and oh, it was beautiful) it was still messy.
So a day at the beach? Probably what both of them needed.
"Come on in, the water's...pretty cold, but oh well, it's not getting any warmer!"Alex was never one to avoid a chance to show off his tattoos. Or at least, he would insist that was the reason he was wearing the smallest, tightest swimshorts short of a speedo he could find.
"Showing off his tattoos."
At least he looked really good doing it.
"C'mon Luka, gotta get a good spot on the water!" He said. Sure, coming with Gabriel and Lance and attached boyfriends might've been a bad idea, but it would still be fun.Gabriel awkwardly adjusted the t-shirt he'd so far insisted on wearing to the beach. He'd spread out a blanket and was sitting on it, so far avoiding going out into the water or anything. Sure, it maybe wasn't the best for a beach party, but he was pretty damn awkward.
Oh well, at least Des was here, and so were his friends.Alistair had to practically haul Lance to the beach, but at least they'd all gone together. He was happy to wear nothing more than flip-flops, swim trunks, and sunglasses (currently resting on his head), but he was pretty sure it would be a struggle to get Lance into beach-appropriate wear.
(Otherwise known as "shirtless.")
"Perfect day, don't you think?" He asked Lance.

Lance growled quietly, glaring at the back of Alistair's hair. " Couch." He hissed, dropping his things into the sand. "I mean it." The 6'2 blonde hated this. Alistair had promptly stolen his shirt, and for the life of him, Lance could not find the asinine thing. Being with out clothes agitated him, he did not like it. Even if it was a bit warm for certain clothing -- "You know you're getting in the water." The purple haired man said as he stood over his boyfriend. "You might as well get it over with now." He added as he held out his hands to help the red head up. -- Luka had managed to tame his hair back into a ponytail. Glancing at Alex, he rolled his eyes at the blue haired man. "I swear to god you've got the mentality of a 4 year old.." And when Des piped up and commented that he was, Luka had to choke back a laugh.

It didn't take long to spread sun lotion over the tanned back of her brother and as soon as she was done, he was off like a shot for the water and she rubbed the last of the lotion up her forearms as she watched him dodge children and umbrellas.
This was good... after weeks in the hospital, it was practically heaven to sit and let the sunlight bake her brown skin. Even better, there was cool juice to drink and a book in her bag... though that held less appeal. Reading had been one of the few things she had had to occupy herself with besides sleeping and now that she was out and about, she'd rather do other things... like people watch. If there was any where to do it, today at the beach was the place.
And her crowd watching brought her eyes to sweep over a pair of familiar red-heads and she grinned as she threw her arm up, waving above her head with fingers spread.
"Xander! Lily!" She called in greeting, debating the merits of standing up to better catch their attention. She was rather comfortable though on her spread towel, her brown toes buried in the sand.

After a little walk Quinn was getting warm and headed back to his folks, his dad was now napping besides his mom... the castle destroyed as all sand castles were. "Ma, I'm going to go back to the condo and grab Isis and a shirt, if she wants to come down that is." His mom looked up and smiled before asking for a bottle of water as well. Quinn nodded his acceptance and headed away from the beach. The condo was a short walk, he wouldn't be gone long. ~~~~ Jessie had the weekend off. Her folks were back in town and commandeered the shop and the apartment above it... after nearly walking in on them in the 'guest' room Jessie took her banishment with a sigh of relief. Her dad said he wanted to check the books and her mom wanted to get her hands dirty in the garden and neither could do that while Jessie was hovering around... she believed the two just wanted to remember their roots for a few days and to play around like the young kids they once were. So she planed to enjoy her long weekend off by doing nothing but lounging on the beach and reading a few new books. With a towel and her book in a bag, and a umbrella over her shoulder, she stopped at the entrance to the beach and stood there uncertainly no idea where to go. ~~~~ Quinn had just gotten back to the beach with Isis, his savanna cat in her bright red harness and leash, when he passed a young lady hesitating at the beach walk way. Doing a double take he realized it was his boss, Jessie. "Hey Ms. Jessie, didn't know you were heading to the beach." He wasn't paying any attention when he took a next step, right into a left behind child's bucket. His arms windmilled, his flip-flop snapped, the water and leash went flying, as Quinn landed on his a**. Unfortunately for Quinn, Isis was much more interested in all the things going on the beach then her beloved human and took off to explore. The giant spotted feline took off racing while Quinn struggled to get up, with Jessie's help. "ISIS! Damn it cat get back here!" He yelled out. Isis was friendly and wouldn't hurt anyone but she was as curious as a puppy and might get hurt getting into someone's stuff. "Someone grab that cat!" ~~~~ Jessie was about to reply when her employee took a tumble and the cat went on an adventure. After dropping her own stuff she scrambled to help the younger man up, her sarong getting tangled in her own legs as she tried to straighten everything out. Quote: Any interation is good. Isis is a savanna cat so she is much larger then a normal cat, she is friendly and you can play her if you want... she loves water and sadly she is not a guardian kitty so no people food please>.> tho that is not to say she wont steal ice cream if she sees it

Bethany Wyatt wasn't one for beaches, really, but she wouldn't ignore the advice from her school’s councilor. She felt that Bethany’s mental health had been pushed to the limits and it reflected in her summer sessions. It was hard to focus on her studies, at least harder than usual, and what was finally the tipping point was finding the detached and discarded braid on the floor of her dormitory. They had no idea what the root of her stress was, though she was certain that if she ever opened up to them, truly opened up, that they’d think she was mad. If she told them who she was, who she really was, they’d lock her up in the psychiatric ward, and she wouldn't have blamed them.
Their cure for her was to send her out with the other girls, and what better way to relax than at the beach? There was a party going on when they got there, and already, Bethany was feeling a little more at ease, despite the fact that she wasn't too keen on beaches. There'd be a lot of people there, and those people would be in their swimsuits. Of course they would be, but she feared that others would think her too modest and her lack of... lack of clothing, would have drawn her some unnecessary attention. She just wanted to sit back and enjoy her time on the beach, loose tshirt and skirt over her very modest swimsuit. Was that a crime?
Maybe it was. It was fairly hot outside and here she was, practically fully clothed and not once making her way towards the water. She had only been sitting there for a few minutes and small beads of sweat had already formed, but in a way, Bethany was content with it. After such a long and grueling winter, the feel of the summer breeze and the sun beating against her sunlotioned skin was quite nice and relaxing. And her decision to lop off her hair was a Godsend, as it allowed for the breeze to tickle and cool her neck. She hated neck sweat the most... it would moisten her hair and make it feel so thick and heavy.
'Yes, that haircut was definitely needed', she thought to herself with a soft smile, laying back on her beach towel and deciding to just soak in the sun. She could have socialized with the other girls that came to the beach with her, or socialized with others. She could have played games, made friends, gone into the water to splash around, but for now, she was content to just lay there in the sun. Let her worries dissipate with her sweat...
'So relaxing...

Keren was following Jeanne, a pair of beach chairs tucked up under her arms. "Till we can't stand it any longer," she said, setting the chairs up beside the cooler. She leaned over, pressing a lingering kiss to the other girl's lips - maybe they'd go find a cabana later and she'd get up under that chainmail. It didn't leave much to the imagination. Her own suit was bright yellow, and if it was more modest than Jeanne's it was only by a little bit. Keren leaned down to look into the cooler. "We bring any, you know," she made a gesture like glug glug glug. "Beer? Wine coolers? Hard lemonade? Is it under the other stuff?" She'd live and hope. Keren stood and looked towards the water. "Let's go swimming," she suggested. "I'll race you."

“Just the usual hookups and breakups,” Paris replied to Nick. She shrugged and let the magazine slide from her lap, off the chair, and into the sand. “I don't know who half of those people are anyway. I just flip through to look at clothes and take the lame quizzes and read all the sex tips the front cover always claims are 'so hot' and 'must-try' but usually end up being kind of bland and predictably tame.”
And that was coming from someone who, despite what her past might lead one to believe, was actually kind of bland and predictably tame in bed.
Sorry, Chris.
She met her husband with an exasperated look before handing her drink off to Tallulah. “Here, have mine. There's plenty more in the cooler, though. Chris's right, my mom's a terrible role model. Pretty sure tequila and Star Trek are what drew my parents together. Weirdos. Come oooooon, Chris,” she said, and quickly switched gears, letting her voice fall into a whine, “don't be so grumpy. You've been moody for weeks. I'm fiiiiiiiiiine. Almost good as new. Never been better.”
Paris scrambled along her lounge chair and sat right behind Chris, flinging her arms around his neck and playing her fingers across his chest. She kissed the side of his head by his ear.
“I knoooow you got that second drink for me,” she needled him. “You are the sweetest. How is it me and my girls always hit the jackpot with such sweet, studly men? Lighten up, okay? We're on vacation. 'Cept I'm not up for much. Is that boring? Tell me if you're bored. You can hit the water, you know. I'll sit back and ogle.”
She grinned wickedly, laying her head on Chris's shoulder as she looked back to Tallulah and Nick. Her voice carried in a loud, feigned attempt at a conspiring whisper. “Our sweet, studly men are such party poopers.”
