He couldn't imagine working concession at a movie theater. People, last he'd even been into a theater, had seemed wholesale rude and inconsiderate of the staff. Customer service was not his ideal industry, and one approached only in dire necessity.

"I know Rocky Horror by name only. My cousin used to go to showings of it with some frequency in her college years. I've not seen it myself....should I?" Making Quenton very obviously what the Show referred to as 'virgin.'

Seating was the work of a moment, the hostess on duty didn't have a busy night and took they right back. The menus were extensive, loaded with options both vegan, meatatarian, and everything in between. Classic diner standbys of milkshakes, pie, and sundaes, a hand jerked soda system, burgers, dogs, sandwiches, fries, and onion rings were all available. Breakfast was also served all day. Quenton ordered a coffee as the initial trip while she left them to look over the food options.

"Is this another b-rated sort of movie?"

"Oh lord, how do I even explain it?" Oddy laughed, his gaze drifting over the menu items. Mm. late night pancakes or delicious greasy burger... choices choices...

"It's... KIND of B movie like but it kind of makes fun of B-movies? And... well... pretty much everything else too. People frequently cross dress and bring props with them to a showing and use them when certain lines come up. It's a very polarizing film. You either love it or you hate it, and it's just as bizzare on stage as on screen.

"Man, they have onion rings. I'm gonna end up flipping a coin to figure out what to eat." He sighed, clearly not as dissapointed as the sigh implied.

"Have you done this- cross dressed and brought a bunch of props to do god knows what with? Or, " Since it was possible, "Do you still do this with whatever frequency this particular movie is shown? With a group?"

People wore plenty of strange things and 'cosplay' to other movie premieres, or other fandoms, so it wasn't too strange as a general idea. But from how he persists in keeping so insistently vague about the exact details, either its very, very odd in practice or he's not participated himself to a memorable degree? Or maybe everyone gets too drunk or high to appreciably remember the ordeal. Any and all equally applicable to anything Stroud would attend with any consistency. She always went with a group of friends.

I wonder how much Oddy can eat? He isn't that much older, and if he ever was a sportsman than he would likely eat a lot. I suppose I'll have an answer by just waiting. He certainly doesn't seem as though he's from a family that starved or was strict about food- healthy and fit, but enough extra that he wouldn't waste of a hospital visit.

"I... admit I haven't done it in years but yeah I have done it. I think it's kinda fun, but only if you can handle people being very deliberately weird, and cross dressing even when it's not normally their thing. But uh yeah there was... newspaper, and rice, and squirt guns... and lines you shout at the screen... I'll have to take you sometime if they show it around here. Maybe they'll do a stage version or something. Do you know what you're having?"

He asked, curious. It would be kind of informative about Thraen's preferences, and what a familiar patron thought was good on the menu.

Years? As though this was very very long ago? I thought he wasn't THAT much older than I... Quenton looked across at the other curiously, trying to imagine what Oddy must look like in more normal 'costumes' as opposed to their uniforms. Which may as well be costumes, really.

"Insomnia has a habit of souring my stomach, so I'm going gentle- its breakfast all day and the pancakes are always good. " Sure enough, the waitress brought their drinks and was ready to take their order. She wrote Quenton's down without needing to ask, having heard his choice.

She looked at Oddy with a smile, "And what about you, hun?"

"Mm. Well I was highly considering the burger, but I think I'll go with an order of pancakes for solidarity."

He'd tried cooking at home a few times but he really wasn't anywhere the cook his mother or some other members of his family were. That ability had not only skipped him it had pole-valted well over his head.

The waitress took down the second pancake order, deciding to herself something about the stack size since he hadn't specified short or tall. She'd decided it for both of them. "And fruits or syrups other than maple?"

"Strawberries, please." Quenton offered back. The strawberry syrup was weird and tasted like chemical, but cut fruit was just fine. His mind drifted back to business, as usual. It was hard to just...turn off. But Eridanus had become a tenuous bright spot, even rarely experienced, to look forward to. "Have you met many others ...found a team? Do you go out much, or is it mostly work, family and friends?"

"Mm. That does sound nice. Maple for me though. Is it too late to ask for a side of bacon too?" He added, resting his chin on his hand and beaming.

"Yeah uh... I kind of had a team for a little while. I used to hang out with Sailor Corvus, but we rarely cross paths anymore. Like... once since I got back. So it's mostly been work, and family. I know there's a lot more power signatures out there than there used to be, but I don't cross a lot of paths anyway. I guess it hasn't changed that everyone's a little skittish of each other.

The waitress gave a mock-eyebrow lift but notate the bacon before going on her way. If nothing else, the wait staff at least was playful whatever the hour.

"Hopefully that will change some with the watch. I doubt all at once, but it will be something. Did you ever get a hold of a phone upgrade? I live with a Mau now, if you haven't. " Quenton unwrapped the dark green paper from the roll of his utensils, fidget attaching it back to itself and apart again along the line of cheap mass-produced adhesive. It seemed like the sort of thing to be made along side the sticky kind of Post-It note. "Do you plan on staying so?"

Are you happy so? Rarely taking to uniform and rarely meeting anyone? living as though you were 'normal', tawdry and worn as such designations are in face of reality. He must usually just find Youma or quiet streets, like tonight's, when he is out. Quiet enough to lounge distractedly on a bench while talking to a friend. As though the uniforms never existed.

"Are you happy, Odyss-..Oddy? Fulfilled?"

"Sorry I don't think you told me about the Watch yet. I assume you don't mean the kind you wear on your wrist." He joked. "I've still got the original model phone, but like I said I've been pretty... out of the loop. An upgrade sure couldn't hurt."

He tilted his head slightly and considered the question, which he admittedly found a little odd, or maybe not odd, given the source. "Um. Yeah I guess? I don't really think about it, I guess that counts? I'm trying to help people, my family is away from here and I guess as safe as they're going to get... I lost track of my old friends but I can make new ones. That's not too bad."

I haven't? I ...must not have. Or he's humoring me...which would be fair enough. I'm no good at small talk. Or apparently just regular person talk. How to talk to Odysseus and not Eridanus. "Its a hope for a coalition to connect people- elected overseers that handle the money and do the footwork of scheduling, pressing hands, and getting people together. So with no team, you could approach them and they'd set you up on a few of the activities with members of the teams to talk to them and get to know them based on what your interests were. You could go on a patrol with some Asteroids, a charity hand out with one of the PSSG, and an archeological dig with one of the Jovians for example. While there you'd be helping the community, meeting people, and learning about the different ideals of the teams all at once. You wouldn't be obligated to join any after, but you'd have the connections. "

"There's going to be ferries, July 12th, to take everyone interested in the idea to the Ruin at 3am to talk about it. And to give pearl charms to those who don't have them." He was implying 'senshi' and 'knights' he hoped clear enough to get the general idea across. In a war, hiding and talking in plain sight was often the best policy, but there was no need to be careless about some pieces of information or tell-words.

"Getting the word around, and the logistics have been my primary concern for a while now. Its....ambitious. But worth it. Things cannot remain as they are." Stop there, don't lecture. Duty is as easily a grudged burden posed too vehemently or too chastising. Eridanus is a free spirit, and may care not for the yoke you take on yourself. And would I want it so? I do not know. It isn't my choice anyway.

"OK count me as really out of touch.. did you mention the Moon Pearls already or is that a new one?" Eridanus rubbed the line of his jaw, eyebrows lifted and eyes fixed in distinct interest.

"That sounds like a really awesome idea. I mean... nice. A few people tried stuff like that early on, but there was a lot more 'I'm in charge' going on and... I mean... I guess that was bound to not go great. A handful of young powered teenagers? Everyone wanted to be in charge and no one wanted to listen. Then you throw in some lone wolf complexes and it's an even bigger recipe for trouble. Even for the tough guys."

"To be honest, I don't know if I have or haven't. Its getting harder to keep track of what I have said in actuality or what I've only just thought about. Or said to someone else. " The admission was accompanied by a break in his stone expression. Quenton scowled, the scar pulling his lip more ghast that normal.

"They're phone charms that act like keys to let us go to the Ruin haven." There was a lull where he didn't speak, except a thankyou as the waitress set their pancakes and bacon in front of them. All were fluffy and plate sized.

"I expect some of the same will go on. Plenty out there are still teenagers in body if not in mind. And growing older doesn't mean growing wiser for everyone. "

"Even I'm only twenty." He cupped his coffee with both hands, staring down at the stack of pancakes like they were insurmountable. Not much of a 'big brother' I expect for many. Irene... "You were at those early meetings? I've only heard glimpses. Intimations that they went sour."

"Still, a few years have gone buy and even the first few awakened have had a lot of room in which to grow up, and understand what it means to work with a team, or to pretend you can win this all on your own. Everyone wants to be the hero of the story, but this isn't that kind of story." Eridanus shrugged, picking up his fork and giving an appreciative noise at the pancakes and bacon. "Mm. This looks fabulous though. Sour is a nice word for it. We only had one cat around then, and her idea of awakening was "Hi, here's your pen, try not to die."

He did the last bit in an grumpy falseto voice, trying to imitate the expression of an irritated guardian cat who clearly wasn't particularly invested in the fate of her charges.

"Granted you only awaken once really so I have no idea if that's changed. Please tell me they're slightly more helpful now."

"It isn't any kind of story." Were the world not but fiction in a book, too cruel the author of our pages. It must be a black comedy, and the poet laughs at our macabre dance on the stage.

"I can't say with much certainty. ********* saw to mine. She explained the enemy a little, how to henshin, how to call the magic. That there were others. Gave me my phone. After that I learned from the Primer on the phone. I didn't see her again until she came to unlock the Super form. ********* does have her own team, the Asteroids, that I suppose she spends most of her time with? Faust tries to be helpful to those who we meet on the way, but he isn't much on explanations of a pedagogic style. Ash has seemed to try to be helpful. " It was sounding like a conversation about some MMO. Fiction of a book or fiction of a video game?

"I still get the impression that it is spread thing and far between, since I've been at it more than a year and have never once seen an awakening myself- they still seem solitary to the one cat and one person rule. Have you seen a Mauvian at all lately? There doesn't seem to be any intrinsic way for us to tell when we're raedy for unlocks. Only Mauvians and their extrinsic observation. "
