Jack relaxed into Takashi’s hold as she listened to what he had to say. She was exhausted but, she still managed a small smile. A shield sounded nice. This Takashi was completely different from the one before. This one was so much nicer. Jack liked this Takashi.
Still Jack found herself asking a question in a quiet voice, “What if your enemy is a beautiful girl? What then?” Jack didn’t really care what the answer was as she softly confessed and, wrapped her arms around Takashi’s neck, “I’m so tired Takashi. I’ve been up all night dealing with idiots like her. It makes my head hurt.”
The her in question started spitting out more insults, “I was right! You don’t have the courage to face me! The only way a slut like you could ever become a Captain was by sleeping her way there. Tell me; who was it that you so shamelessly sold yourself to? Or did you have to sleep with multiple people? I’m sure that wasn’t a problem for you. Sex is all you’re good for!”
Jack had closed her eyes when the insults started. Her right hand was holding her left wrist and, left hand was loosely holding Chimamire no Yuki. Her arms were around Takashi’s neck. As the insults continued Jack’s right hand squeezed her left hand tighter and tighter. At the last sentence Jack let out a strangled grasp that she cut of as soon as it started. Jack became as stiff as a board. She buried her face into her Lieutenant’s neck.
Chimamire protested that thought, “No! Yes he passed the other components but, I will not approve him until I can see him in combat!”
Jack mentally responded to her Zanpakutō, “Not now Chimamire. I just want to get away from her. Takashi is everything I’m looking for. He’s smart and clever and he cares. In addition he can learn. We can test combat later and, if his skills are below par we can train him. I just need to get away.”
The woman started again and, what she said made it clear that she was not a member of Division Three, “Look at you! Hiding from the truth! It’s no wonder that Division Three is the shabbiest of divisions. I can’t believe I wanted to be your Lieutenant!”
Now Jack was angry. How dare she! How dare she! Insulting Jack was one thing; the Archer of Death was use to that. However no one insulted Division Three. They were the best members of the Gotei 13. The fact that they put up with Captain Mallory was proof of the strength of their character. Jack would murder her!
Chimamire no Yuki cut her off, “No wait! That’s it!”
Jack questioned, “What’s it?”
Chimamire no Yuki was filled with sadistic glee, “Have Takashi do it! Tell him that you forgot a portion of the test. Tell him that as you Lieutenant he has to be prepared to defend the honor of both Division Three and his Captain. That way I can see him in combat and, that b***h pays for her insults!”
Jack burst out laughing. That was perfect. It would wrap up all of her problems and tie them with a bow. Jack pulled away to look Takashi in the eyes even though she didn’t remove her arms from around his neck.
Jack smiled but, her pain could still be seen in her eyes, “Seventh Seat Sayomi, I just remembered something. You haven’t passed every aspect of the test. If you do become my Lieutenant you would be expected to defend the honor of Division Three.” Jack’s smile became a smirk, “This woman has insulted Division Three. Those Ya no Kōri bolts will be melting soon and, then she’ll be free.” Jack turned to glare at the woman with a dangerous glint in her eyes, “Show me how you deal with people who insult Division Three.” Jack’s tone became lighter as she returned her attention to Takashi, “Besides, this will give me a chance to see how you deal with enemies that are beautiful women.”
The woman hissed, “Bring it! Dealing with him will be easy!”
Somehow Jack didn’t think that was the case. Takashi may have been injured but, he wasn’t stupid. As long as he didn’t hesitate again he should be victorious.
Jack looked into Takashi’s green eyes with her blue ones; her smile was small, sweet and, sincere, “Do this right Seventh Seat Sayomi and, the position is yours.”

Jack's inquisition made Takashi smirk. That was a good question to ask. A man's eyes judges a woman's beauty according to their opinion of what they feel about them. It depends. However, one thing for sure though is that Jack was in his list. Takashi returned a answer, "Not much women qualifies the type I'm searching for. If my opponent is pretty, I leave it up to justice to do the rest. " He continued to listen what she had to say and felt her pain. "Indeed, it must be tedious and tiring to find a perfect Lieutenant. D-don-...."
He was cut off by that pinned girl as she began yapping out irrelevant things from her mind. He looked back at Jack, his face ruined with concern. Whether that girl's statement was true or just an accused gossip, it was still wrong to yell out such obscene comment for there embarrassment. Assumptions are just lies that one take as truth. This girl needs a big lesson for sure. His neck could feel the tight in grip of Jack's petite hands, while she buried her face into his nape. He wanted to take her pain, but how? He really hadn't much experience.
Narihibiku Kaminari stepped in to help, "You should cut that girl's mouth off, so she wouldn't have to say anymore nonsense. I'm having a headache too!"
Takashi laughed, but paused as the pinned girl carry forward her blunt spat. Green eyes suddenly broaden, shock by the fact that she would say such thing. That girl was grinding on some thin ice here. She is so deluded to not realize what Division had in store, though it was limited. Takashi knew Jack heard her insult and he knew she was very angry. Jack's rising heat from her body was an indication that she was going to explode and murder her. Takashi was mad too.
Out of the blue, Captain Jack would burst out laughing. Takashi cocked a brow, trying to figure out what was going on. Did she thought something hilarious? Jack was a very capricious person. He caught her gaze, his green eyes meeting hers. He nodded along as she spoke. His next task was to fight they girl pinned to the tree. Any moment now, those bolts would melt and Takashi had to be ready.
He smiled back, noticing her pain from her eyes, "I give it my all to defend yours and the division's name. By the way, that chick is not pretty at all. I prefer you a lot better. "
Takashi landed on a nearby branch across the tree where the girl was pinned. He gently laid Jack on her back, before he hopped off to another branch beside her. He unsheathe his gleaming blade with his off hand and pointed it at the brown haired girl who was still pinned. He was going to use the same skill like he did early, but this time he won't miss. He turned over to Jack just to check on her and noticed her sweet smile. He took a moment to appreciate it before he replied back, "Don't worry. That position is almost within my grip. I'm going to end this battle fast."

Aya needed to win this test. She would do anything to win. In fact she already had a plan. All she needed to do was to find the damn slut and offer to sleep with her. Aya would do anything to get the currently vacant Lieutenant position.
Unfortunately it wasn’t going according to plan. Somehow Captain Mallory had seen Aya's attempt to sneak up on the red-headed woman. So now Aya had been pinned to a tree by that sorry excuse for a slut.
How did that sorry excuse for a woman even become a Captain in the first place? Now that Aya thought about it there was only one reasonable explanation: Jack Mallory must have slept with someone for the position. The question was who. In fact it might have been more than one person given that position in question.
Aya enjoyed making that sorry whore tremble. Aya enjoyed making people miserable. She took a sadistic pleasure when Mallory collapsed to the tree. Not that Aya was lying; every word was true
Then Aya scoffed when that Sayomi boy literally leapt to aid that b***h. That boy was a pansy. Didn’t he know that this was his chance to attack? Apparently not. The idiot carried the whore down to the ground.
Then that useless excuse for a Captain relaxed. Aya wanted to scream. How dare they ignore her! Aya delivered another truth. All that slut was good for was sex. Jack literally flinched at that. Aya smirked; it looked like the Captain knew it was true and couldn’t handle it.
Then the b***h gave the idiot yet another test. Aya was looking forward to it. Then Mallory told Sayomi that if he won that he would get the Lieutenant’s position! Aya scowled at that. Aya didn’t want to be the whore’s Lieutenant but, she needed to be a Lieutenant. It was the next step towards her goal.
Aya found herself asking, ”If I win is the position mine?”
Aya didn’t think the answer would be yes. Still Aya had to ask. Aya tugged at the arrows pinning her to the tree. The ice was almost melted. Aya tugged at the arrows again; she needed to move! Aya looked up at the idiot as he told the slut that he would end it quickly. Aya tugged again and broke free. She used Shunpo to flash behind Sayomi. She sent a kick at his head.
At the same time she unsheathed her Zanpakutō, ”Be in Balance, Kunai no Godai!”
The katana transformed into a set of five Kunai. Three of them were tied to Aya’s left wrist. The other two were tied to her right one. Aya somersaulted into the air and, tossed the green Kunai at Sayomi. If it made contact the bone the kunai hit would develop a hairline fracture. The pain would be unbearable.

Jack sat with her back to the tree trunk as she watched Takashi draw his sword. He turned to face the woman; Jack thought her name was Aya Arei, from Division Nine. Jack felt her eyes narrow. Even now Aya wanted the Lieutenant’s spot.
Jack hissed, “You said you didn’t want it.”
Jack bent stretched her legs across the tree branch. Jack placed Chimamire no Yuki horizontal across her lap. Jack kept her left hand on the bow handle in case she needed to use her weapon.
Jack watched as Aya broke free and aimed a kick at Takashi’s head. Did she really think that would work? Then Aya released her Zanpakutō and, threw a kunai at Takashi. Jack resited the urge to holler a warning. This was Takashi’s test. Jack sat bak to watch.
Jack was smiling but her voice was tired, “Make this quick Takashi. I’m tired and I need a nap. Try not to get too injured.”
Takashi really did need to make this quick. Staying up all night was just the beginning. Then Jack had to deal with idiots and, convince idiots that they weren’t really idiots. Besides facing her past literally drained her of her energy.
Chimamire no Yuki’s voice was soft, “Sex isn’t all you’re good for. In fact sex is the very least of you talents.”
Jack smile a wistful smile. If only that was true.

Takashi watched the brown haired girl desperately breaking free from the bolts containment. Within a blink of an eye, the girl flashed her way behind the man with Shunpo as she kick him to the head. He flew forward from the brunt he took from the kick. This was bad news. This girl seems to excel at Hakudo, which is his greatest weakness. She then summoned her Zanpakuto, throwing a single green Kunai at him with full speed. He quickly grabbed hold of his blade and deflect it back to the user just in time. He slowly landed on a branch across from her and took a breath before he continued on.
Narihibiku Kaminari applauded, "Nice divert, Takashi. I thought it might hit you like Jack's arrows. You picked up the pace. Keep hustling and unleash your armor ability. She may know Hakudo, might you have the speed advantage. She can't block me with that puny dagger of hers."
Takashi humbly boast, "You can't suspect nothing less of your master Nari. Anyhow, I know. I noticed she could only shoot out a kunai a time. Knowing that, there is no way she can kick me off of my speed."
Takashi raised his zanbato up in the sky with both hands, focusing all his energy in it as he called forth, "Kaminari gitai!" Bolts of lighting suddenly begin crashing down from the blue sky in a spiral motion until it eventually hit Takashi, making a loud boom of thunder. The flash blinded any nearby comrades at a diameter of 3 meters. The light would slowly shiver away in thin air, revealing anyone who notice Takashi with his electrical covered body that gleamed so bright. For a full, direct blow, Takashi bend his knees and jumped, shooting straight up to sky. He could see almost everything from up here: it was scenic view. He pinched his brows, while flaring his nose disrespectfully at his opponent as he pointed his blade at her. He roared, his voice mighty and loud like a lion, "Shokkubīmu!!" Takashi fires a single beam of lightning, as it traveled straight and fast to the girl. If she gets hit, she will be burned and stunned, which will give him a chance to finish her with a final attack. He took a fast glimpse over to Captain Jack. She looked exhausted. Takashi couldn't afford to lose this battle. He had to end it fast.

Aya scowled as her Kunai no Chi was flung back at her. Sayomi was being cocky. Aya smirked a malicious smile; no wonder the whore liked him. Aya scowled again she needed a plan.
However she didn’t have to come up with one. Sayomi coated himself in lightning amour. Then he sent a blast of lightning at Aya. Aya didn’t pause to think. She just used Shunpo to flash to the nearest safe spot.
Kunai no Godai’s cool voice cut across Aya’s mind, “I would like to point out two things. One: If you insist on fighting Sayomi you need to slow him down. I suggest using your Kunai no Hi to slow him down. Then use Kunai no Sora to drain his energy.”
Aya asked, “What’s your second point?”
Kunai no Godai asked a question, “Why are you attacking the small fry?”
That was a good question. Aya turned her gaze towards Mallory. She was just sitting there watching them; like she was better than them. Aya scowled as she considered that slut lording her power over them. Aya adjusted her plans.
Aya sent her blue kunai, Kunai no Mizu, at the b***h. The whore deserved it completely. She should have never had disregarded Aya. When the kunai made contact one of the whore’s blood vessels would pop. Aya hoped she got the b***h’s face. A bruise would certainly mar her pretty face; maybe she wouldn’t be so cocky then.

Chimamire no Yuki pointed out, “Takashi depends on that lightning trick of his too much.”
Jack had to ask, “Don’t I depend on my Ya no Chi and Ya no Kōri bolts? We use the attacks and skills we have.”
Chimamire no Yuki was stunned, “You’re defending him! You like him!”
Jack had to agree. It wasn’t romantic; Jack was incapable of that. However she felt safe with the green-eyed man. In fact that slightly scared Jack. She attributed the strength of her emotions to the level of her exhaustion.
Jack watched as Aya dodged the blast. It was inevitable, Jack supposed, the girl’s strengths lied in her Hoho and Hakuda. Jack considered Takashi’s strengths. He’s skill was his Zanjutsu and Hoho. Jack was good with Hoho and Kido. Jack liked that combination. Takashi could keep up with Jack and they could compensate for each other’s weakness. Jack scowled as she remembered that neither she nor Takashi were horrid at Hakuda. Well things couldn’t be perfect.
Then Jack saw something fly towards her; she raised her bow to attack, “Ya no Kōri!”
The ice bolt made contact with the kunai. Both fell to the ground as their momentums canceled out the other one’s flight. Jack was breathing heavily. That girl had attacked her.
Jack narrowed her eyes, “Did you honestly think that would work? I am a Captain!” Jack aimned her bow at Aya’s heart, “The next time you attack me this arrow will fly. The only chance you have of getting back to the Seireitei alive is to survive your battle with Takashi.”
That wasn’t quite true and Jack hated herself for the small lie. Aya wasn’t going to die but, Jack didn’t have the energy to deal with another enemy. That was why she was hoping Takashi took advantage of the current situation. Aya’s attention was on Jack and, her back was to Takashi. The man would be stupid not to take the opening.

The brown haired girl somehow manage to quickly dodge Takashi's beam of lightning as if it was nothing. He had to hand it to her, she was pretty fast, but his Shunpo is far superior than hers for sure. He floated up in the sky watching, gathering his ideas together, while she flashed to a nearest safe spot. The girl depended on Shunpo and speed similar to him. He turned back to Narihibiku Kaminari, insisting for advice, "Turns out our plan didn't work. Tell me your speculation about this fight. Can there be any openings for a direct hit? Range won't do a trick against speed."
Narihibiku Kaminari retorted back some feedback, "Unless we know all her abilities, then we can probably determine the factors of this small battle. For now, just play along with her. Try to get under her skin."
Takashi nodded, acknowledging his strategy, "I'll do whatever it takes to win. Surely your prediction will come true or else I'll shall punish you." It may take a while until he can pin point her weakness, but for now, he had play along. Unexpectedly, The girl would gaze over to Captain Jack and shoot a blue kunai heading straight to her face. N-no.... It can't be, it can't be! Upon Jack's condition, was there any chance she could counter it. She was tired and emotionally hurt. In addition, Takashi wasn't fast enough to use Shunpo from here to where Jack was. He tightly locked his jaw to extent where it could break his teeth. He didn't what to do; he just stood there aimlessly in shock like a block of lead.
He closed his eyes, blocking what the future might bring. His ears then twitched when he heard another fling. He stubbornly took a peek, his eyes soon broadened to see Jack was still okay. Jack's ice bolt disperse the kunai's impulse, both falling down to the ground. Takashi wiped his sweat away off of his head, feeling relieved. A giggle escaped his lips as he listened Jack's spat at the girl.
Narihibiku Kaiminari cut in, "Takashi, now is your chance to strike! Her attention is all on Jack, leaving her back open. Attack! Attack now, Takashi!"
Although how sly it was to battle someone not head on, he had to win. And so, Takashi flashed behind the brown hair girl using Shunpo, and slashed her with all his might. The blood would gushed out, spurting a bit into his face. Hopefully that ended her determination.

Aya felt the sword cut into her skin, “Damnit!”
Aya flashed away. However she wasn’t quite fast enough. The wound was deep but thankfully not very long. It was in a horrible place; the back of her right shoulder. That idiot Sayomi, had attacked her while her attention had been on the Captain. Maybe he wasn’t quite as big an idiot as Aya had thought.
Kunai no Godai scoffed, “No, you’re the idiot right now! Why did you drop your guard?”
Aya told her Zanpakutō, “I wasn’t thinking. Sorry.” Aya called out to Sayomi, “I thought you were full of honor and whatnot. Stupid use of time if you ask me. You need to take whatever opening you can get.” Aya smirked a mean smile, ”I thought you were going to end this quickly!”
Speaking of quickly, Aya needed to end this. She could feel the blood dripping down her back. If this fight dragged on for too much longer she would fall unconscious from blood loss.
Aya got her Kunai no Hi ready to throw. She would aim the kunai at Sayomi. She wouldn’t make the mistake of attacking Captain Jackie again. It wasn’t worth the risk. Aya hadn’t expected the slut to be able to block the attack. Aya threw her red kunai at the idiot. When it made contact it would slow him down and, give Aya an advantage.
Aya called out, ”Enjoying the show Captain Jackie!”
Then Aya used Shunpo to flash behind the idiot. She aimed a round house kick at her enemy.

Jack was not surprised to see Takashi take the offered opening. Nor was she surprised to see Aya managed to flash away. Shinangami were a hardy breed. Jack had hoped that Takashi would have been able to injury her further but, Jack would take what she could get. Jack gave the girl 15 minutes before she couldn’t see straight.
Chimamire no Yuki spoke up, “Less, the wound isn’t large but it is deep. I’m surprised she can still use that arm.”
Jack revaluated the injury, “True. If the injury isn’t treated soon she might lose mobility with that arm.
Jack was about to call it off. Takashi Sayomi had proven himself today. There were things that he still needed to work on but, Jack wasn’t perfect herself. He would make an excellent Lieutenant. Chimamire no Yuki hummed her agreement. Even she had to admit that perfection was boring.
Then Aya managed to throw another kunai at Takashi. Then she had the gall to call Jackie, Jack.
Jack was affronted, “I’m pretty positive the whole Seireitei knows not to call me Jackie. I ask for so little. Why do people insist on calling me Jackie?” Jack called out to Takashi, “If you even think about calling me Jackie I will do something horrid to you.”
That was when Aya aimed another kick at the back of Takashi’s head. For a moment Jack regretted distracting Takashi. Then she banished the emotion. If Takashi couldn’t handle distractions he deserved what was coming to him.
