This entire experience was pretty tense, which Hanna assumed (and Roland confirmed) was sort of the point. She and Shu were eking through by taking one piece at a time, but Roland was basically doing cartwheels around them. It helped Hanna’s ego to tell herself that this was his division so obviously he would be good at it. But the competitive side of her just wanted to try to do the same move.

“I can see the pressure of it,” she mused, watching Roland pull his pieces free. She glanced to Shu and caught her looking at the fish again. “It’s probably nothing to worry about — the fish, I mean.”

It was her time again, far too soon. “Darts just make you feel a little drunk in multiple doses?” she said, glancing over to Roland. “Consider this my act of trust then.” With a deep breath, Hanna attempted to pull out three pieces, just as Roland had.

Her hand was steady, movement careful, cautious. One, two, three -- she got them all. Sitting up straighter, Hanna smiled with satisfaction. "Not so bad," she said, feeling cocky.

Hanna was close to right, he wasn't a life, he was actually a Mist who had done the course before so he had some experience. Even with Jordan and Candace there it had been a long struggled to complete as all three of them seemed prone to taking dart after dart like living pincushions. Today was just a good day for some reason.

"Think of it this way, field medical work is like this." He tugged on a piece, "You have to move something very delicate like this little block, while possibly facing something trying to end the world and eat your face," his gaze flickered up towards Hanna, "Or it might be less chaotic, maybe your carving a rune or working on a mechanical thing, you still need to be just as careful, and the things going around you can be just as big a distraction. That's why they put us here."

There was a pause, "The darts are just because Life is full of pricks that are just terrible people." Turning back to Shu he nodded, "Like alchohol, but faster, and it'll knock you out for a few hours if you get hit too many times. I think after about three you pretty much clunk out for like an hour and they make you start the whole process over." Grinning at Shu he nodded, "You're doing fine, just remember as we pull more pieces... it'll get harder to do."

Finally he snapped out the piece he had started before dropping it back on top, "If you do knock it down their's a phrase in the middle of the table, place your hands and say it, and the tower should reset it's self. Rune magic and what not."

Shu was a good student, so she paid full attention on Roland's elaboration. "Hmm huh." She nodded, so in this course, their goal was to learn about concentration and doing things with carefulness. To be honest, being careful was something against her clumsy nature, she hope she won't make any wrong moves in this game.

"I see. Does anyone deliberately dart themselves just to get a good nap?" The stupid idea suddenly came to her mind, and before she could stop it, it went out of her mouth already. "I know it will just be more unstable as we go on, we are destroying the foundation of it after all~"

Hearing the giggle, she turned to Hanna. "Oh sure, maybe something sweet in taste for start? I am not sure how much I can take...Hmm....I guess not much. I heard that it's a good way to relax, right?" The comments from both of them created a smile on Shu's face, being more confident, she was thinking of challenging Roland for the first place. Of course, she still didn't know about the consequences of being a loser yet, the girl was just finding her way to enjoy the jenga more.

It was her turn, the girl picked one out easily and ended the round. "I think observation is as important as handling things carefully. For example, by observing your action, I can tell which block is a no-no to move. Similarly, if we observe our enemies, we can analyze how they attack and carry out the better strategics, right?"

Hanna's question drew her attention and she added with her comments. "Oh side effect like nasty headache? The people experienced hangover in manga or anime look so miserable, I hope the darts won't do the same."

Hanna watched the movements of Shu and Roland, plotting her next move. With each move, Roland was getting more daring, and then suddenly, the tower began to tilt. The hairs on the back of her neck rose. Would it really just dart him? The woosh of the dart only registered in her ears after Roland slumped to the table.

The Death trainee scooted back in her chair. "Roland?" she said, poking his arm. Then she turned to Shu. "Quick, before he wakes up -- Death high five that we didn't knock it down first." Hanna held up her palm in offering to Shu because go team Death 4eva.

Plus, they would need Roland to wake up before they could reset and try again.

Of course Roland saw or knew none of this, he was blacked out from the dart. Even when Hanna poked his arm he didn't stir, the dart was still in full effect as they had a short celebration, highfives, Shu whispering in his ear about ice cream.

Unlike most people however, Shu was a bleeding heart and instead of taking amusement in his knocked out state she actually went as far as to prop him up in his chair properly while he slept. It really was only a five minute nap, and when he came too, it was a groggy image of two death trainees sitting around like nothing happened.

"Eh... I wasn't.... I wasn't sitting up like this before I was I?"

"Welcome back," Hanna said to Roland. She would rather start earlier rather than later. After all, this was sort of an extra thing she was doing that was not a part of her schedule for the day. She gave Roland a look that said as much, but then glanced back to Shu.

She pointed to the center of the table. "I think the phrase is constructum," she said, tracing it. "But our hands have to be on the table." She placed her hands like so and then glanced to the two others, hoping they would follow suit.

Roland blinked a few more times focusing on Shu as she spoke, "T-thanks..." He suddenly felt horrible about the markers in his pockets. Shu was too sweet. "I'm good we can go on... no pillow needed." Looking at Hanna he offered a week grin, "Good to be back." Leaning forward he added his own hands to the table.

"I hope I don't screw this game up." He muttered as the tower slowly snapped back to its former state.
