"Court is a feudal term, " He looked over to Faust. "It implies leadership, dogma and direction. If not always in accord, in the spirit of arguing until they come to one. The 'White Moon Court' doesn't exist. There are some groups called 'teams' that do little, if and when they see each other. There are some royals who will not lead. And when someone starts trying to talk policy about the war apparently people start bickering like its cops and robbers at recess. Its an antiquated and dead idea that no one rallies- there is no 'Court.' "

" There won't be until there's a community that feels the need for one. " Communities then elect leaders, or leaders grow out of them. There were chieftains before earls, earls before kings. Kings before congresses. " I am a Senshi. I am an uncorrupted Senshi that fights on the side of Order. 'White Moon' has no part of that, its a ruined castle city with no people, no Senshi, no queen. "

Her next statements were punctuated by her discomfort. Thraen reached out, intending to clasp her shoulder reassuringly if she allowed it. "The warehouse after the city-wide blackout? Where General Bischofite was stabbed? "

"As Faust says...at large scale operations, it becomes less cut and dry. There isn't time, and we don't have the resources, training, or solidarity among Senshi or knights to effectively neutralize, search and impound our enemies. At many operations, you're going to be faced with the hard choice that these enemies are harvesting souls and stealing energy. Even the least of their members at an operation is an accessory. "

"It is best if you can turn them to purification, but failing that it isn't worth the surety of loss in lives to let them go. The victims in the time between would not thank the leniency, would the dead to speak. Megrez, don't think you have to like killing. It isn't right to fetishize it with heroics, either. Ending life is no glory. Many of them are just misguided, or afraid for their own. They are brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, just like we are. Killing is only a necessity to protect the Earth and all worlds for whatever forces, from this 'Chaos', that guides them to treat all other live as chattel and kine."

"If we don't stop them, their tens or hundreds of operatives....at the very least the whole City of some millions loses. I suspect all of Earth, if our broken worlds are epitaph. "

"I... I see. I guess things are worse than I thought." Megrez was having a little trouble coming to grips with the idea that there was no actual White Moon Court, but the idea of an uncorrupted senshi that fought for Order filled that gap nicely. She let Thraen touch her shoulder, and the comforting gesture brought a tiny twitch of a smile to her face. "Yes, that's right. The incident after the blackout. I kind of had tunnel vision at the time, but I think I remember seeing a general turn into... something else." She hadn't really been at the state of mind at the time to focus on anything but the lieutenant she was fighting, and she certainly wasn't able to focus on anything else after she had killed him.

"Yes... that sounds about right." It seemed that Thraen agreed with the idea that an ounce of prevention was worth a pound of cure, as did Faust. "I've been 'taught' all this time that one dead lieutenant is many lives saved. That's the philosophy I've had, but I... haven't been able to take out anyone else since that day." Thraen's words were inspiring, and Megrez felt invigorated, like she could go out and pummel some hapless lieutenant right that moment. "But hearing you say these things... it makes things make more sense for me. Thank you." That might have been kind of vague, but she did want to thank him for the pep talk.

"It ain't gonna happen overnight," Faust chimed in. "People don't change at the drop of a hat, and they don't really jus' go down without a fight. You gotta be a little more patient, a'ight? Jus' do what you can 'n' keep your own a** alive. We ain't got the numbers they do, from the look o' things, so we can't go kamikaze those sons of bitches." Sitting up a little taller, Faust looked between the two.

However, Faust couldn't help but wonder what was going on in this senshi's head. He shot Thraen a puzzled look to communicate his suspicions.

"Things ain't great for us, but they could get a helluva lot worse. We gotta step up our game - all of us. White Moon or not. So uh, we done enjoyin' the scenery 'round here? If you two got more s**t to discuss, I can jus' go out n' chew some grass cuz I'm itchin' to get movin'."

'Taught' can be a dangerous way to put it. And yet it is at least something better than being alone and afloat. She mentioned no consistent partners, yet. Just picking and choosing what she can from each 'join up' ? " You've killed. Our enemies will try to kill you or worse. It is more than most people, no matter the age, can handle. "

"We're not trained soldiers, though we live the half-lives of them. Your best teacher is going to be yourself as far as what you believe. And your belief isn't static. There's a lot that's been said, for and against pacifism. For and against war. Seek out those you feel you can talk to and talk it over with them- mentors, friends, partners, books, and articles in history. Never stop learning, or trying to see this from all angles in your quiet times. Megrez, look for all the information you can find to inform yourself. "

He caught Faust's look, sharing some of the concern. He was no psychology major, but there were some things that could be broadly addressed without needing coursework or a degree- things that were basic human kindnesses without judgement. "Most of all in this war, you might find yourself frightened; caught in panic and heart pounding for no reason at all in the middle of school or at home on the couch. You might feel the need to stonewall from others, find yourself isolating and avoiding others- any number of things...a reaction to the burden of the violence of being a senshi right now. Talk to someone. Anyone, one of the Mauvians, call up one of the senshi you know, even me. You aren't alone and you aren't crazy. Even if you don't choose to be on a team or with a partner, regular check ins with someone you trust ...if we're going to make it through this we need to help each other and accept the help that is given."

"Like Faust says, we don't have great numbers. And no one of us is going to win this alone. Differences of opinions is one thing, but complete division is recipe for disaster." The eternal senshi turned, opening shoulders to invite Megrez to start walking with him and the Guardian. "Come on. We can at least patrol together and rid the shadows of whatever we find while we get a little more accustomed to each other's style."

You could give it a close on your post of the going off to patrol?

Megrez listened as attentively as she could, trying her best to take in Thraen's every word. In a way, he was giving her a new directive: learn as much as she could, and with that learning, form her own perspective. There was, of course, a sub-directive under that one: seek support when possible. Both of those "missions" seemed reasonable to Megrez. She had been seeking support when she could, and those in her little group had supported her well, she thought. However, she needed to learn more from others, and that meant seeking out more people. These were not the times to be insular. The invitation to patrol made her smile and nod, and she started walking with the cat and the Eternal senshi. "I agree. Thanks a lot, Thraen. I'll be tagging along."

"Damn, you're a helluva lot better at this 'talking' s**t than I am." Faust admitted, looking to Thraen. "I dunno why you kids gotta get so damn brainy about this s**t sometimes - I mean, if you ain't discussin' it like it's some weird chess game, then you guys're bawlin' all over it like your life's over or somethin'." s**t, at least you had it together when your boyfriend went all youma on you. The Mauvian's fluffy stump of a tail wriggled slightly, but he offered no further signs of agitation.

Instead he rose to his feet to pad alongside the pair, interested in keeping pace until the advent of a discovery across long-reaching senses for auric energy. At that point, he knew the blonde's floral topography well enough to leap to his shoulder in a breath and hold on for dear life.

It's a wonder he never sailed into a building at this rate.
