Myra pushed on, barely deterred by Cora. "But the makeup kit.. my precious friend gave it to meeee!" Myra growled as Cora yelled about burning buildings and people not going into burning buildings. Little did Cora know Myra had been in many a burning building before.
But... Cora had a point. That make up could be melted, but it was special.. it couldn't... Myra made a face and stopped. Cora's safety had to come first for now. Maybe her precious friend could give her another makeup kit. "Smoke? Of course not! My hair is already wet and stringy as it is! Flames could dry them! I'm going!" Whatever. She was going in. She could just kick down a bunch of walls. The blonde took another step toward the burning building with a clinging Cora.
---
Huh? Was that voice? That voice sounded familiar... sounded like a student actually, the same student who had lent him the textbook. "Get out of here!" Genya yelled at Andi, even though he couldn't see her at all. He was starting to tear from all the smoke. The TA grimaced as he tried to pull the other student up. A light bulb clicked then. He had lab goggles in his bag! But there was no time... The blonde haired TA dragged the other student, who was pretty much being a deadweight, even more scared than Genya and frozen in fear. "Come on..." he lamented as he tried to maneuver them toward Andi's voice. "Wah!" Genya cried as another wall of flames seemed to appear. He moved quicker, dragging the other student along as best as he could being the weakling that they both apparently were and hoping that there would always be at least one route that wasn't blocked by a wall of flames. Finally, Genya made it to wherever Andi was. He was huffing and puffing by then, and the student behind him was just...there... and..
"AH! YOUR SHIRT IS ON FIRE!" With a brave yell, Genya unleashed the extinguisher on Andi.

"Then get your precious friend to give you more." Cora protested, pulling on Myra's shirt. She would have air quoted the word "precious" if it wasn't for the back her hands were full trying to pull Myra back. Not that it was working. Cora's shoes were digging into the glass and starting to slip along side of the fashionista. "W-what no Myra! Stop this instant!!"
"Only when you get out of here!" Andromeda protested. It took Genya for bloody ever but soon she saw his sweaty and soot covered self coming out of the classroom with another student in tow. Andromeda helped him out, looping the student's arm over her shoulders and starting to make her way back towards the door. That was...until...she was hit by a blast of something freezing cold.
She spasmed and turned from the surprise of it. Her eyes went a little wide when she looked down at her coat. Under the white dusting from the fire extinguisher, were scorch marks moving up her back. And suddenly, she started to feel the pain of the burn under her skin. The adrenaline must have masked it before. She felt dizzy. Like someone with a heat stroke. She felt like she wasn't getting enough oxygen. Her back was throbbing. "C-come on." She said, weaker then before and with a sputtering cough.
Andi half dragged herself, half dragged the other two, out through the front doors into the rain. No sooner had she stumbled over the steps, did she let go of the pair of them and fall down into the wet grass. Behind them, there was a loud groaning noise, and suddenly the building imploded.
Cora fell silent and stopped in her tracks when the building heaved and collapsed. She let go of Myra. "Well...I think your makeup was just sent as a burnt offering to Lucifer." Cora muttered. Not the devil's name but she didn't know that. "Will you stop now and take us home please? You know...before your hair get's full of ash and dust?" Cora asked, teasing now. "Come on, I'll make that special chicken you like for supper. Then we can go makeup shopping after." Cora promised.

(( EARTH TIME SKIP TO EVENING: )) Miraculously, there had been no casualties thanks to Andi for that fire aside from broken egos, annoyed spirits, embarrassed TAs, and a full medical ward, which fortunately, was still one of the standing buildings. And that fire fiasco was about the most exciting event the university had that day: another event to add on to the strange occurrences around the world. Another loss of a building to these strange occurrences on campus. Later that night... The candlelight vigil was a university campus wide event held in memory and observance of the string of unfortunate college occurrences that plagued the world’s schools recently. It was a clear night sky with no rain and a full moon that was obscured by clouds every now and then. The breeze was minimal, and the temperature was comfortable. The whole campus had made an effort to come out because so many had been affected. There was a slideshow on a screen showing the victims and a chorus that would lead the group in singing. People were in the process of lighting candles and handing them out. Genya had not wanted to come, given his embarrassment earlier during the day. However, he had come because another TA had coaxed him into coming, and his sense of honor that his older brother had instilled in him made him come out of respect. Holding the candle reminded him of the Bunsen Burner from earlier though, and he felt his face go beet red. It had not been very smart of him to accidentally cause the fire without meaning to. It still didn’t make sense to him. Potentially, the act could cost him his Ph.D. candidacy. Genya sighed as he watched the candles get lighted. The red haired engineering professor was also present, dressed a bit more tidily than usual. Candle in hand, the green eyed professor stood near the back of the congregation. He nodded as he observed the attendees and would poked Andi as he passed her...because that was totally very professor-like. "Ms. Steward, it truly is a shame what has been happening lately," the professor remarked neutrally. "All these unexpected things have come to pass..." At least one of the guardian students, Genya, was standing in plain view of both of them, so that if they tried to ignored the student, it would be totally impossible. ...not that Andi knew that Genya or herself was a guardian to begin with. "Don't mope so much. Pray for them," the professor said softly with a smile. "Or is there something else that is making you feel under the weather?" The engineering professor was most commonly called "Orion" by most of the staff for whatever reason. It was his middle name, and people really just sometimes forgot his first and last name because the middle name was used so much. Otherwise, he was just known as the crazy professor by his students. --- But two people weren't present at the candlelight vigil. Instead, Myra and Cora had skipped off to somewhere else after cleaning up. Instead of taking up Cora's offer for chicken, Myra decided to jump right to make up shopping. Little did Cora know how ironic it was to offer burnt make up as an offering to Lucifer. The golden blonde haired woman grinned as she pulled Cora along. "So.... we're going to visit my precious friend and shop his collection!" That was probably badly phrased because Myra's friend did not actually use make up.
Myra's stomach growled as she drove and eventually pulled up to the gates of a extravagant mansion. "Cora, we're here!" Myra exclaimed happily as the gates opened expectantly as if sensing their arrival.
((I tried to find a mansion in Canada! Haha...you can pick what kind of car they chose. Enter le Meia!))

Other World
About twenty years ago, Cora Bryliane was banished away, officially ending the power struggle between the twins for the throne of the Regent. The Other World has recovered in some ways, gaining a bit more order due to the Regent and his generals’ leads. However, nothing is perfect. Not everyone agrees with decisions or even that the Regent is the Regent. Despite twenty years of control, most of the world can be considered in order with disputes here and then. To unite the world, a international road is being built to make travel easier. However, darker things have lurked about…
On this day in the the area of the Regent's main palace, the sky was clear blue with a bright sun shining down amicably on the land.
What do they expect from me? –sigh- I’m not going to roar “Bwahahahaha” and scream “Off with their heads.” The blonde haired Regent of the Other World was lost in his thoughts, recounting some of the soldiers joking about him and the situation with the rebels. The Regent would rather not kill if the rebels could help rebuild the country, but they were getting to be quite a thorn. Why couldn’t they see? The Other World twin sighed as he listened to the grievances of the one in front of him. Well, actually, the person, a guy, hadn’t even gotten to grievances yet. Would you get to the point already? I could probably let the leader of assassins handle this, but I do not think that will go well, and Bastion would take it too seriously with a half smile attitude. Which meant Cyrus Darnell Bryliane was stuck listening to the guy in front of him. Cyrus did take the role of Regent seriously. It came with a ton of responsibility, but there were pros and cons. Unfortunately, his posture right now was precisely that of the second picture in Cyrus’s profile. It gave him a sort of ominous, bored, “Don’t waste my time” feeling, but the man who was claiming grievances was clearly not reading the posture message.
When the person finally got past all the flattering honorifics and got to the issue the person came for, Cyrus turned his attention to the man, alerted to a potential important issue when the man mentioned a strange jester terrorizing people. ”Yes, I see. That matter is certainly concerning to the health of our people.” The man had just reaffirmed the suspected whereabouts of this jester fellow. ”We will look into the matter.” With a nod, he dismissed the man, and a guard led the person out, while the person kept trying to end with flattering phrases thanking His Majesty. Completely unnecessary, Cyrus thought. As a noble in royal court, he had been used to seeing all types of people, but he felt even more exposed as the Regent. He stood up and lightly hit the end of the scepter against the floor of the throne room before descending down the elevated platform.
Cyrus's main general Bastion was always nearby, for the most part, unless he was on missions. Bastion had been the lucky one keeping track of the “jester’s” actions, which had been very shady and not easy to track since the “thing” left not much evidence if at all. It was one of the not-as-well-known open threats to the Other World. Ironically, the town that the aggrieved man had mentioned was a town that they suspected had rebels in it. Those rebels hadn’t been doing a great job hiding themselves….
"Bastion, we still can't seem to understand why this jester is terrorizing the land. But it's rather convenient that he's in the same town as the rebels. What do you think?"

Andromeda debated whether she wanted to go to the vigil. The paramedics at least advised her not to. Severe smoke inhalation and heat stroke they had called it. But she felt fine now. Still...she wan't sure if she wanted to go. Death felt...too personal.
In the end she decided to go. The grounds became a sea of flickering lights. For all the students that were lost in the events. And she also remembered her Mom. It was only a couple months ago she went home to Italy to visit Andromeda's brothers. But her brothers said she never made it. She wasn't in the air port, and was never found.
She was pulled out of her reverie by a poke to her side. "P-professor. Sorry I didn't notice you there." Andromeda stammered. He didn't act very much like a professor. Professors didn't make a habit of poking students. But Orion was...different. "I am...praying I mean. For my mom too. She disappeared not long ago you see. I guess this is like...a little of her vigil as well. Or at least it feels that way to me." Andi shrugged almost nonchalantly. "But your not interested in that. Sorry, my brain is stuck on monologue."
~~~
It was a one gorgeous drive to Myra's friends. Just north of Toronto, the dive was maybe an hour and a half. Cora pushed a pair of aviators on her nose to block out the glaring setting sun and sang loudly with the radio as they sped along the highway. Myra put the roof of the convertible down so their hair was blowing back from the sheer breakneck speeds.
The destination was the biggest mansion that Cora had ever seen. "Is that….the palace of Versailles?" No that wasn't right. Versailles was in France. They were a stones throw from Toronto. Still, the resemblance was uncanny.
As they drove up to the front door, the engine died and Cora stepped out. As if they were expected, someone was sitting on the steps. A girl, with black hair and….fox ears? "Um….Myra…" Cora hissed as they walked up to the door.
The girl, Meia, jumped to her feet when Myra arrived. "Hey Myra! Can you please go glomp Seb now. I swear I've never seen the b*****d so cranky." Her amber eyes moved to Cora then, and Cora could have sworn the tail poking out of Meia's jeans flicked. "And….oh hey you must be Cora. I'm Meia." As if something suddenly dawned on her, Meia paled and nervously grabbed her tail to stop it from moving. "Oh don't mind the ears and tail. It's just a costume. Will's….really big into Halloween." Yeah that was it. Meia chuckled. "Anyways, come in!" Meia quickly turned, and started to lead the pair inside. "Did you want anything? Tea? Juice? The blood of virgins?"
That foxy girl sitting on the steps was waiting for them, which was a change... because usually it was Sebastian who answered the door. Cora did appear to be very confused, and it took a moment for Myra to register why. The fox ears were such a normal thing to Myra that it had almost slipped that Cora was not supposed to believe that demons existed.
Instead of a smooth greeting, Myra got a "Hey Myra Seb cranky go hug him" response. Myra's hazel green eyes went slightly red for a second before going back to the usual hazel, but it could have just been a trick of the sunlight. Myra smiled as Meia went straight to Cora and then explained away the tail with Halloween. "Yup. Will loves Halloween, and Meia's fox tail is motorized. Show it off, Meia. Hmm.. let's say blood of virgin....haha...tea would be good. What about you, Cora?" Myra followed Meia in with Cora behind her. She said in a low whisper to Meia, "Did you piss Sebby off again?"
As if to confirm suspicions, the trio was met with a massive cracked mirror in the hallway. The cracked mirror did add to the Halloween excuse, but that was not usual in Will's mansion. Myra arched an eyebrow and looked at Meia. "Mmm... I see that our guests have arrived," a smooth calm sounding voice said as a tall blonde haired man appeared at the top of the balcony on the second floor. The sun was behind him, and it made it a little hard to see his features clearly because his face was dark against the bright sunset. He smiled, although it was probably hard to tell. "Welcome," Will said as he began to descend one of the staircases down to the first floor of the foyer. While his facial features weren't evident, it was evident that he was wearing some sort of 18th century get up; a Venetian men's attire with no wig, but with an accompanying hat and mask..."Myra, Cora, we've been expecting you."
Right on que, Meia turned and gave her tail bit of a flick. Motorized. Right. Cora looked pleasantly stunned and not too suspicious. Good. Meia didn't want to be the one to break it to Cora that Santa was real and his elves were a bunch of demons.
"That's pretty amazing. Where would you even find something like that." It looked so realistic. "Oh...and coke if you have it. Otherwise tea is fine."
"Alright! One tea tray with a bottle of coke. Coming right up!" The fox demon would have ran off that second if it wasn't for a certain succubus catching her by the arm and whispering in her ear. Meia's ears betrayed her and flattened. She on the other hand looked defiant. "No. I can't help it that he just happened to feel the need to throw one of Kai's books at me. And that I felt the need to not get hit by it. And that it just happened to hit the mirror." Meia said nonchalantly.
Luckily, or perhaps unluckily, Will showed up. Meia had to force herself not to eye roll at the ridiculous costume he was wearing. What was wrong with a simple tailored suit? No, Will had to dress at least 300 years out of season. Taking this as her que to leave, Meia scrambled off to get the tea.
Cora was blissfully unaware of any conversations of broken mirrors. She was captivated by the spender of the foyer. All marble and crystal and filigree iron. She never saw anything so magnificent in her life. That she could remember anyway. And at the top of the stairs was what she first thought to be a manikin in authentic ventician clothes. But no...it was a man. A man with a smooth strong voice and blond hair sticking out from under the hat. That had to be Will. "H-hello." Well this was a little unexpected. How did he know her name? Myra must have called ahead. "What a….nice home you have. Is it all modeled after the Palace of Versailles?" Cora asked curiously, trying to make small talk. An interesting task when introductions were obviously unnecessary.
Mmhmm. It was Meia's fault. Obviously, she had instigated the whole confrontation. The golden haired woman didn't even notice that Meia's ears had flattened...although she had the itch to pull one of the ears. "Sure, Meia...sure." Myra muttered as the fox lady escaped due to the master of the house's arrival. "Cora, maybe you ca get one of the engineers at the university to build a motorized fox tail,"she suggested with a smile. "And you can decorate it to look like a fox tail."
Will placed his hat on Myra's head. "A pity I didn't use a fox tail instead of the feathers." He commented playfully. "Hi Cora. A pleasure to meet you. I'm Will." His words probably went through her ears. The girl was staring at the foyer and the extravagance of the estate. To some, the mansion was another world. To Will, it was just a building. "Ah, thank you. Yes, it was modeled with Versailles in mind and there is quite a bit of room to play hide and seek. Meia and Sebastian seem to enjoy that. Myra has as well."
Myra's eyes darted to Will, to where Meia had disappeared, and then back to Cora. He was totally referring to how Meia kept breaking things when Sebastian tossed stuff at her, wasn't he?! ..or... or... when she herself broke things because of her strength after getting angry at Sebastian.
And it was at that moment that someone's stomach growled quite loudly...
((Greenie, you pick whose stomach growled!))
"Mmm, I can imagine there are quite a few places to hide. Perhaps a hidden passage or two." Cora said playfully, but her brows creased into a frown. Something about this sounded familiar. Not Will's house itself, but something about palaces and secret passages. Almost as if she was familiar with such a place. Cora quickly shook her head. Myra warned her that the doctors said she would get these kinds of feelings. Like intense déjà vu. Evidently coma's did weird things to your mind.
She opened her mouth to say something further, but a loud rumble went through the room. Cora offered a sheepish smile and covered her stomach. "Sorry. We skipped supper." She murmured, and glanced over at Myra. She had been the one to suggest they come strait here.
At that second Meia returned with a tray piled high with tea, a cold bottle of coke, and a platter of tea sandwiches and little cakes. Cora took her coke off the tray and drank a sip to keep her stomach from any other embarrassing noises. She eyed the sandwiches but thought better of it. Her and Myra would probably pick up something to eat when they left and she didn't want to ruin her supper.
A big grin came over Myra's face after Cora apologized for her stomach and mentioned skipping supper. "We can have dinner here, can't we, Will? Oh, look, Meia's come with some sandwiches...which surprisingly don't look burnt." the blonde woman commented. She quickly took her tea before Meia got the idea to toss it at her. Will chuckled. "Of course." At that moment, a small black puppy bounded into the room and then crawled onto the table to attack the food on the tray. "Ah, Cerbs, stop stealing all the food."
Myra shouldn't have said that. Myra really shouldn't have said that. Slowly, Meia sat the try down on the table, her eyes shooting daggers at the succubus. And then before anyone could stop her, Meia's tail flicked a small ball of flame at Myra's pretty pretty face.
Luckily, Cora didn't see this. Cora being the princess that she was, was immediately distracted by the way too cute puppy that just bounded in the room and quickly devoured everything on the tray. "D'awwwwwwwww." Cora gushed as she picked the coal black puppy off the table and cuddled it in her arms. "You are just the cuttest little thing! Ooooh what's his name?" Cora asked, not taking her eyes off the puppy.
Myra smiled as she raised the tea to her mouth only to see a fireball nearly hit her face. The teacup and the tea had saved her, but the tea splashed neatly into her face and hair. The golden haired succubus lady posing as a human twitched. "Meia." She smiled as she tossed the tea cup or rather what remained of it at Meia. Her own tail almost appeared for a moment due to an itch to wipe the tea off. Instead she had to resort to her sleeve. That foxy was asking for it.
Meanwhile, Will paid Meia and Myra no mind as the ominous cloud of battle chaos loomed between the female servants. Cora, it seemed, was too engrossed in little Cerbs. "Cerberus... he eats as much as three full grown puppies....don't you, Cerbs?"
The black puppy "Mrrrr"-ed in response and just looked happy being cuddled by Cora.
"High maintanence pup, this one," Will remarked with a smirk. "Now...what shall I have prepared for supper?"
Meia jumped out of the way of the tea cup. She had been expecting it as it were. "Myra." she returned with a wicked smile. The kind of smile you might expect of a fox. "You've gotten a bit of tea on your hair there dear. Perhaps you should go clean yourself up. What would dear Sebby ever think to see you in such a state?" Meia's tail flicked again and a small ball of flame shot at Myra's chest.
Cora nuzzled the puppy close. The adorable little Cerberus. "Such a big name for such a cute little puppy. Maybe someday you'll grow up to be as big and strong as the real Cerbs hm?" Cora gushed some more.
She looked up to Will then, "Oh whatever you were pl-" Cora's sentence was cut off by the smell of smoke. She looked over to Myra, just to time to see flames on her. "MYRA!!!" Moving by pure instinct, Cora grabbed the teapot on the little table and splashed the contents over Myra. "Oh gosh! Are you alright? How in hellfire did you catch yourself on fire?!"
As Cora nuzzled the puppy and gushed that the black puppy would perhaps grow up to as big and strong as the real Cerberus, little Cerbs meowed and pawed at Cora's face. The dog's owner sighed. Cerbs was clearly trying to be confusing or just being funny. Cora did not know the truth about this little adorable little puppy who demolished and stole many a people's lunches and dinners; this little puppy was actually that who she mused the puppy would grown into eventually. But alas, that information was not for mere mortals to know in this situation.
Myra twitched as Meia commented on the tea soaking her hair. And whose fault had THAT been, hmmm? She glared at the neko fox thing and noticed that foxy mischievous "hahaha gots you" smile coming from that girl. If that teacup had hit, she would have been much happier. Sebastian wouldn't be displeased with her. She twitched again as Meia launched a fireball at her chest. The fireball caught her directly in the chest...her clothes began to catch fire and burn, but her body was still safe.
It seemed that Cora was being rather polite for she started to answer that she had no preference on dinner. However, Cora's sentence was cut short by the scent of smoke. The blonde followed Cora's eyes to see wisps of smoke coming from Myra's top; his "friend's" expression was total annoyance. Well, this was going to be good. Something had to crash and burn. Things had been a bit quiet lately.
"MYRA!!!"
SPLASH! A ton of tea doused Myra in tea. She continued to glare at Meia. While Cora had conveniently dispersed the flames, her clothes were ruined and Meia had insulted her. Ignoring Cora, the blonde woman strode menacingly toward Meia, but then made a sudden turn as she stepped by the fancy sofa that Will was lounging on. Without a thought, she picked up the sofa, Will and all on it, and then launched it at Meia full speed. Yes, that wasn't quite something a model teacher would do. Myra's frame certainly didn't exactly make people think of body builders.
"YAOWLLLLLL!!!!!!!" Meia sputtered and hissed and jumped out of the way of the couch. Mid jump she took her fox form and landed gracefully atop the bookcase in the room, before jumping again to scurry out of sight. Will was not going to be pleased about this. And she had no desire to stick around.
There were many things in this world that Cora simply learned to overlook. Myra's odd strength from time to time, Meia's ears and tail, Cerb's meow. But a woman not much older then herself throwing a couch with a person threw the air as if it were as light as tea cup? A girl turning into a fox? Not so much. Cora's eyes widened and she stumbled backwards from Myra. "M-myra…." she took another few steps back. "H-how did you…." Cora didn't know what to do. So she did what most people would have done. She turned and ran for the door.
