The first words came stoic and with almost robotic precision, "Argumentum ad hominem, a logical fallacy. You reject claims on the basis of irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument. Specifically a form of Tu quoque, the appeal to hypocrisy. Followed by a Special pleading, alleging a need to apply additional considerations without proper criticism of these considerations for you as the exception. What I personally have done has no bearing on the validity of the probabilities and logic that I have suggested to you. It doesn't make it any less truthful and good sense. "

The second came more gentled, even if there was nothing in his expression, it came as tone to his voice, "Can help not be offered without expectation of return? What is 'grace' but giving, yea, with both hands full open. What you blame yourself of, guilt yourself of, is no concern of mine. I did not own Alois any more than you. I can love you both for what you are- bright sources of inspirations, creations, emotions. Whether you wound me or not does not change that. I do not work like other scouts- you don't have to be my blood sister, my lover, my friend. I help and offer aid on account. It is what I must do. It is evil intent, greed, jealousy, anger, hate, that gives with one hand hidden behind back and holding strings. "

She only judges by what others have done to her, or what she does to others. All the senshi, all the knights, all the agents...why must it only be honest help if there is some personal attachment? Why must emotion play so much in their accounting, rather than just the will to do good.

Thraen moved forward to trap her in arms and scoop her up like a bride, "Because, Ida. Some tears are not from weakness, but from being strong too long."

Faust glazed over entirely during Thraen's rebuttal, suddenly taking interest in the state of his own fur. He set about washing the portions too hot from summer heat while he waited out the nonsensical garble tumbling from the senshi's mouth. Luckily he hadn't suffered much in terms of a wait.

And then he got incredibly mushy.

"What the hell, man, why you gotta go and do that?" Faust groaned. "You're so damn weird sometimes... Makes me wonder why I put up wit'chu." No need to go ********' oratory on us. Just put her a** to sleep and take off with her. How hard can it be? Gotta make s**t so damn difficult... Then again she's not doin' any better. Senshi these days are such a pain in my a**. "Look, you're a senshi. That means you're my responsibility, just like him, just like any other senshi goin' about makin' a damn fool of themselves. I gotta keep yo dumb a** alive somehow, and it ain't gonna happen with you runnin' around all banged up. Yeah, you ******** up a little, but are you expectin' us to go off and hate you just cuz' of that?

"Look - we ain't gonna have problems 'til you kill another senshi, got it? So quit ********' around like this and just take some goddamn help." His tail twitched with effort, though the curled stump offered no sizable indication of his irritation. However, his countenance offered more than enough of a hint toward his lack of patience with Ida.

The legal jargon, or whatever it was, went more or less right over Ida's head and her brow creased as she struggled to follow. He sounded so incredibly pretentious, bringing these things up as though just because he knew the words for it, it somehow made his argument more valid... and in abrupt switch, he said more things that confused her for an entirely different reason. Part of it she agreed with... help could be given simply to support someone else, because it was the right thing to do, but did he really hold no anger towards her? The 'love' part was another point of confusion, but with his odd manner of speaking, she was sure he meant it different than how it came out... appreciate might have been a better word, one that lacked the emotion the former possessed.

It didn't help that there was an angry Mauvian yelling at her from knee level, claiming responsibility for her as though he had some right to as a guardian cat. As though he were five times the size he was and could bully her into doing what he wanted... She was forming a reply when Thraen stepped forward to wrap his arms around her and Ida was shocked into stillness as her feet felt the ground and she found herself held against his chest, her feet dangling.

The only time anyone ever picked her up was when she was near death, if you discounted the time Björn had set her on her flower cart, and the men who did were usually the ones she trusted with her life... To have this near stranger sweep her literally off her feet was disconcerting and she caught a wonderful whiff of flowers and sandalwood as a small fizzle of attraction reduced her to wide-eyed staring.

The moment she felt it, though, Ida panicked, rejecting it utterly. Desperate suddenly for escape, she pulled her elbows in front of her and then shoved them hard backwards, one aimed for his face as her legs kicked and she threw herself forward. She felt it connect sharply with his cheek as she rolled out of his hold, and though she had intended to distract him with the strike, a stab of regret bled through the panic as she landed hands and knees on the ground with a pained sound.

One hand clapped to her side as she pushed herself onto her feet and Ida darted out of reach, fully intent on fleeing until she got a few steps away and turned back abruptly. Pulling out her phone, she snapped a quick picture of Thraen before she snapped it closed, giving them both a look that was a mixture of anger and pain.

"I'm going home, alright? And I don't need an escort!" The second part was directed mostly at Faust and Ida turned sharply on her heel, still clutching her side as it protested the energetic fish flopping she had just done with throbbing pain up and down her torso. She was so done with this... If they wanted her to go power down, then she would, if for no other reason than to get them off her back. This time, anyway... there would be no way for them to prevent her from going right back out tomorrow, short of camping outside her house.

The eternal took off at a loose trot despite the jarring pain. She was going to need to check her side when she got home, make sure she hadn't reopened something with that little stunt. She hadn't felt anything come loose, but she was not looking forward to needing to call Xander and explain what she had been doing.

For a moment, just a moment, as he hefted her weight and adjusted to it to walk smoothly, it seemed like things might work out. They could get her to the safehouse, in something loose and comfortable. Faust could lounge on her lap and maybe purr to keep her calm- his bedside manner was debatable but he administered it at need. There were enough blankets to ensconce her in. He could keep watch. Then the world was badly jarred, flashing white for a moment as an eternal's strength and a boney elbow twirked his face to the side violently by way of his cheek.

There was a hot sensation, and wet, the skin next to where the scar pulled taught split open and gushed down his face. It registered as pain, but the conditioning did its work- he looked forward stoically as she was-
-she's seriously scanning me on the run?
yelling that?

In that moment, he knew all over again every hateful, disappointing moment of the supposed 'White Moon', of his peers in age and schooling, and of humanity as a general malais crawling over the face of the planet. It passed, slowly, watching her smallen in the distance. "Waste."

He didn't explain the word, what single or many meanings and applications it was currently applied to. He turned on heel, pulling his hair aside so that his shoulder was clear for Mauvian transportation, not bothering to say there was more to do, or call for Faust. Faust knew.

Alarmed, the cat puffed up when he witnessed Ida's elbow collide with Thraen's cheek so forcefully. Yet, she offered no regret of it after she trotted away, clutching her stitches, and froze in the distance. Faust watched her, eyes alert and stance wide, while she scanned Thraen into her phone. "The hell's wrong with her?" He asked aloud, more to himself than to Thraen. We're all s'posed to be on the same side, helpin' each other out, and we get treated like this? Girl's got some big-a** problems... Cuz this s**t ain't kosher.

And did Thraen just call her waste? Like garbage waste? "Bro, don't be too harsh. She ain't doin' so hot."

The Mauvian leapt to shoulder as soon as his perch was cleared of hair, and pressed furry paw to cheek not far from the injury. Blood eked out from it at a decent clip, already lining his jaw before dripping to the floor. "Yo, we gotta fix your face. You sprung a leak." Adventuring in Destiny City would have to take a pause.

Casting one last glance over his shoulder, Faust loosed a sigh. "She's not gonna survive long with that attitude." I need to find her again sometime. She seemed to like it well enough when I rubbed on her. Maybe that's what she needs right now.

But damn, she sure's got an elbow to her.
