"You have the right idea. Just take it slow," He gently pat the horse when she whinnied, soothing the horse before stepping back again. The situation was under control, and after a bit of a pause was trying once more. That at leats was encouraging, her effort would carry her through it seemed.
"Relax your hold on the reins, and tigh once your urge her forward, but thats good. You managed to stop on your own, and get going!" It must have been tricky for a first time rider, and would require some practice, and effort but with time Alec had hopes this at least wouldn't be too hard on the small girl.
They weren't by any fences, so he felt safe enough to keep a leisure pace walking beside the black haired girl. She was a bit older than his sister, but a brotherly urge to look out for her was rather nagging. "So far how are you holding up with being enlisted by the way Lenore?" He didn't want to distract Lenore too much..it took a great deal of balance and concentration. So he kept an eye out for if she might tumble off. As long as she relaxed her pressure the horse would keep its easy trot, and forward motion.

Swallowing, Lenore nodded quietly. She wasn't sure why, but the thought of going too fast made her uneasy for some reason. Blinking a few times, she took a deep breath and relaxed her grip on the reins. Sure enough, the horse didn't pick up speed this time. Exhaling the breath she hadn't realized she was holding, she looked down at Alec - a weird sensation, when she thought about it, being so short - and shrugged lightly. "Everything is going better than I expected," She admitted. "Although I didn't expect much, to be fair." She paused. "...What about you...?"

"So far so good, I've only been exhausted to the point of collapsing a few times.." He muttered sheepishly. "Nothing serious, I like the routine even if wake-calls are so damn early." He yawned recalling actually having a bit of trouble getting up that morning.
Taking this time to gentle guide them back around in a loop, walking a track together as they conversed lightly. He found himself curious about the younger girl, as she didn't speak that much usually. "Were you from Shiganshina? Did you have any family?" Alec asked amiably-like, smiling just a bit as he kept pace with the horses smooth walk.
"Try leaning, put your weight to the right to make this turn. Don't fall off if you can... " He coaxed quietly, glancing ahead at a fence used for jumping prat ice normally. Alec wouldn't necessarily be able to catch her if she went tumbling down, it depended what direction she fell of course..but he wouldn't risk spooking the horse and trampling the poor bookish girl.

It's alright! I just figured you were busy and would reply when you could owo/
Pretty sure we can wrap it up whenever you feel like it, and Lenore can always ask him again later and they can work into getting her actually trotting/maybe maneuvering cones if you want? Whatever is fine with me!

Lenore shrugged lightly again as the horse continued to trot forward. "I don't sleep that much, so the wake-up calls don't really bother me. I wish I had more time to read, though." As they rounded a loop, she nodded. "Yeah, I lived in Shiganshina all my life. As far as family goes, though, I don't have any that don't hate me. So the military isn't that bad, considering." Casting a quick glance at the ground, she bit the bottom of her lip before leaning to the side as she was directed. She gripped the saddle harder with her left leg to keep from falling off and she successfully made the turn.

Alec smiled at her, as she at first nervously leaned, applying pressure and successfully making the turn. He nodded at her, close to grinning really glad she was easing into the process of things. "I guess that's not so bad for you then..I'm really struggling with some of the reading bits. Luckily I have back up on that, but still." He muttered sheepishly, recalling she was an avid reader, especially based on her previous comment seconds ago about wanting more time. "Nice job by the way, you'll be ready to try galloping in no time." The red head encouraged grinning up at as the were making their way back to another turn, this time right was up coming. Although the image of her being carried away was both comical and disconcerting. It was all they could return to the barn, making sure to give her practice the different saddle motions. The mare they were using was old, not exactly rickety just yet but well beyond her prime so she responded with ease at least.
After having walked a long circle around for more time for her. "When we get back up to the barn, I'll grab a step for you to hop down if you'd like? Also you'll stop on your own." It wasn't like it was that far away, the destination in question at least. In truth Alec was more excited just for the fact it was nice being helpful, especially to some one he now considered a friend.

The thought of going faster than she already was made her feel physically sick, but remembering that she had to learn to use the 3D Maneuver Gear soon forced her to nod. If she couldn't handle galloping horses, there was absolutely no way she'd be able to fly through the air like she was supposed to. Rounding the right turn with much greater ease than before, Lenore slowly began to realize that she was getting better at this horse riding thing. Maybe she didn't have anything to worry about? Without thinking, she flicked the reins and the horse set off into a gallop. The small girl bounced up and down in the saddle, and she gripped her legs tighter. She could do this! It was easy - she might even be able to do the 3D gear well, too! She could --
Fall straight off the horse. In her elated mood, she neglected to note that the left turn was coming up and grip accordingly. The combination of speed and change of direction sent the girl flying to the side, landing on her back before rolling a few times before ending up exactly as she had started. Instead of trying to get up, the twelve year old girl simply stared at the sky. Blinking a few times, she murmured lightly to herself. "I don't remember there being so many spots in the sky earlier...."

Alec looked extremely concerned as the girl snapped the reigns and darted forward."W..Wait not on your first time...!" Too late. His eyes were wide as he watched her. There she went, off ahead of him before he could really even protest. At first actually seemed to be doing okay, but quickly that was all for naught. She must have not seen the left turn, and was sent flying off the horse. Bolting after the beast, and namely to check on the downed trainee he was glad to see the horse stop on its own. It had gone from a full gallop, to slow trot then finally halted.
She was then leaning down, nibbling at some grass watching the humans with detached curiosity. The mare swished her tail lazily like nothing had happened.
Coming to crouch down beside Lenore, hunkering down so he wasn't far from her on his bent knees even if the position wasn't comfortable. Alec gazed at her searching as he gently touched her arm. He had heard her make a comment about spots sky after-all... "Well, I would imagine so...That was quiet the fall Lenore. Are you alright?" He gently shakes her, trying to help the dark haired girl sit up by offering his gloved hand to the small girl to help her get up should she be able, and ready to do as such. After he was sure Lenore wasn't hurt, he'd stable the horse as needed.

Lenore took Alec's hand and shakily pulled herself to her feet. Blinking a bit to get the spots out of her eyes, mostly in vain, she nodded hesitantly. "I... think so?" She blinked a few more times before pressing down on various parts of her body. When she got to her left shoulder, she winced slightly before rubbing her eyes. Stupid spots.
