Babylon sighed in exasperation. Chaos's agents seemed to run the gamut from actually literally could not care less to blood knight and he'd unfortunately found someone tilted just slightly towards the latter end of the spectrum. He pressed his hands flat against his stomach. "You don't believe in the senshi messiah?" he asked sadly. "Okay. Fine. You've got me - no baby here." If she could be proven trustworthy, he decided, it would be useful to know later. "Okay," he said. "So I'm guessing that you're basically General Avalon's replacement goldfish for Spinel." She'd realize later what a s**t deal that was. Probably. "If you promise, on your honor swear to die stick a needle in your eye that you will not go running with a report back to Avalon, I will tell you." He needed something to enforce that. Babylon hefted his lantern. "If I hear that you went back to to General Avalon and gave her a full report, I will ram this so far up your a** that light will shine out your mouth." That's imaginative.

Persephone frowned slightly. "I don't even know what a Spinel is, but okay, whatever you say, you know her best," she said, shrugging her shoulders a little. She didn't like the idea that she was anyone's replacement goldfish - but it wasn't really in her control, was it?
"I swear on what remains of my planet that I won't tell Avalon any of what you say to me tonight," she said, "and that actually means something to me, whether you believe it or not. There's a reason I haven't gone Alkaid's route." She'd met the Ascended General when she was still Order, and it had been the single most horrifying experience of her life.
"Never mind that having that lamp in any orifice sounds incredibly unpleasant," she wrinkled her nose a little. "Just, ew. I will give you this - you know how to make a threat."

"He was a corrupt senshi," said Babylon, waving the idea away. "Avalon held his leash. Don't worry about it." Spinel had been fortunate enough to get away, something he doubted Persephone had any potential for that given the series of bad decisions she'd already made. He hated to think so negatively for anyone, but he also had to think realistically. "Anyway," he said, lowering the lantern, "you have me sufficiently convinced of your good intentions." For a relative value of good. Babylon lowered his voice. "I currently have the starseed of my thousand-year-old ancestor lodged inside my chest and I am escorting it to the Space Cauldron. You may not reach inside my chest to verify. You have to take my word for it. But if you are satisfied by this explanation, I would like to go home." He hurt. Everywhere.

Persephone frowned briefly at the idea that anyone, particularly Avalon, held her leash. Still, that wasn't the topic of discussion here, and she was finally going to get her damn answer.
For a moment, she almost disbelieved his explanation - but that was certainly a good reason for his aura to be wonky, and wow, that was not something she would want anyone to know, if it were her.
"Oh, my god, that is literally the stupidest thing I have ever heard anyone do. Like, props for good intentions, that's sweet, give the dude some rest, but seriously? In what reality is that even kind of a good idea?" She probably shouldn't be making fun of him. Or criticizing his decisions. (Or criticizing anyone's decisions - she'd broken into some random civilian's apartment to steal a discarded sketch for Bischofite, after all.)
"Just, wow, I am genuinely impressed."

Babylon raised an unimpressed eyebrow at the senshi. He wasn't surprised by her response, but he certainly didn't appreciate it. Anyway, he'd upheld his half of the deal, so he hoped she as going to keep up hers and let him go home unimpeded. "Okay, so, you are being sarcastic," he said, flipping her the bird. "And I am going home, and you are going to keep your word and let me go. Or." He held up the lantern. "They're gonna start calling you Sailor Flashlight. Seeya, princess of the underworld," he said, spinning on his heels, grateful that he felt well enough to head home on his own.

"Wow, that was thoroughly uncalled for," Persephone said, stepping away from Babylon and then heading in the exact opposite direction, hopefully as at least some kind of show of good will.
At the very least, she had a lot to think about. Knights were a puzzle to her - the only ones she'd met were Alexandria and Camelot, before she'd corrupted, and there certainly hadn't been a lot of time to chat about ancient history or Wonders or...ancestors.
"Thanks for the information, either way!" She called to his retreating back, and then she teleported away. She'd have to think on this a lot more.
