Light's heart warmed as his son gave him a hesitant hug, nearly bringing him to tears. Blues may never forgive his father for the past, but perhaps there was still hope for a warm and loving future between them. Following his boy to the door, he opened it for him. "Thank you for stopping by, son. It was the best Father's Day present I could have gotten."

......Wait what.
Proto definitely wasn't up to date on his holidays, especially not ones like Father's Day. Really, he had just come here to visit quick and try and secure E-pops for Bass. Apparently he had the best timing.
Or something.
"...No problem, dad. ...Happy Father's Day?" He wasn't so sure if this was a thing one usually said on Father's Day. It was not like he had celebrated it before today (or today either, to be honest).
He stepped out the door, giving the other a wave before moving to head off.

"Thank you, my boy." Light smiled broadly and waved as Proto left. Going back inside, he shut the door behind him. Blues wasn't eating enough. That single thought slightly deflated the bubble of happiness Proto's visit had brought him. With his flawed core, he had to consume more e-tanks than most bots and perhaps with his busy schedule, he didn't have time to stop for a drink. What he needed was a more concentrated e-tank. Determined to make this a reality, Light headed to the lab to get to work.

Well, this evening had gone...fairly well. He had yet to find Flashover and stop the attacks on the robots, but he had made Light happy -and- scored a sizable box of E-pops for Bass. He would have liked some too....but Bass needed them more than he did these days. He'd stick to E-tanks for now and let Bass enjoy the box of pops.
Bag in tow, the red general made his way out of his father's neighborhood and turned to head back towards the Tower. Really, it should have been a quick enough trip...for a robot. Forty minutes or so of fast walking.
It was only about five minutes out of Light's neighborhood that a bright flash lit up the area.
---------
Back at the Tower, on that giant grid screen, yet another dot disappeared.
When sent to investigate the last known location of General Proto, all that was recovered was a bag full of E-pops and E-loaf. One poor lowly Tower-working bot had been sent into Bass' room to deliver the bad news, as well as the box of pops.
