Takoda Post 6
The rather hopeful look in his eyes seemed to dim as his lover and mate mentioned the voice of reason. He was right...they couldn't just up and claim the girl as their own just because they found her, though int he back of his head an old taunt echo'd about finders keepers... One could see his shoulders sag, his lifted a thumb to his lip and nibbled on it as if it could suddenly come up with a reason that they could just keep her.
"Ah..yes your right of course." He managed his eyes glancing at the young girl who was studying her map. Taking a long deep breath he let it out slowly, trying to remind himself that first and formost they needed to help the girl find whatever family she had left, just as Jacinthus said. It still made him a bit sad...couldn't they just come to the conclusion that she needed a mother and father? or in this case two fathers?
Turning back to Jacinthus he offered him a small smile before leaning in to give him a small kiss. Then he went back to move to the little girl and knelt before her.
"Jacinthus and I think we should try and help you find your family. Can you tell us where they live?" The shifter asked though because of the Oban's it made traveling quite difficult. It was a miracle that Korra hadn't been captured by the soldiers.

Korra Post 6 Korra wished she had something that would allow her to draw, after all she needed to add more to her map, plus she wanted to draw Jacinthus and Takoda. It wasn't like she had a bad memory but she liked having things drawn out for her. Licking off the remaining flavor of dried meat off her fingers she then went to try and comb her fingers through her rather messy hair. It was when she was trying to get a nasty knot out that the shifter and his....boyfriend? ....Husband? She wasn't exactly sure what their relationship was but she had seen them make kissy faces and Takoda really reminded her of a mother. When the question was brought up about her family she blinked at them. Technically she didn't have any immediate family so when he asked her she tilted her head and looked at him in a confused manner. "But...I told you my mom...and dad ...they..."

Jacinthus Post 6
Jacinthus gave Takoda a smile and a gentle pat on the shoulder. He hadn't meant to upset his mate or make him sad, he just didn't want to get his hopes up only for him to find out that the girl had some family members that would arrive and take her in. Best that they search for them first, then go from there. He gave a little smile at the kiss that he was given though he could tell that his mate was saddened by Jacin's decision. It was odd, he'd never thought that Takoda was interesting in raising a youngling... perhaps it was due to the fact that the twins were growing fast? They'd be getting a rank and a weapon with the tribe soon, wouldn't they? It might be what prompted this or perhaps it was just something that Takoda had been thinking about but hadn't mentioned to him? He hoped that he hadn't been missing any hints thrown his way.
Walking with him over to the girl he listened in as Takoda explain what they had been talking about, asking her where his family lived... and instead of getting an answer where other family might be she just seemed confused, trying to explain about her parents again. He glanced at Takoda a moment before he moved to sit down in front of her, "Are there no others?" He asked of her, "Aunts or uncles? Siblings, perhaps? Anyone that you might want to find?" He wondered if she was like Keilana and himself, was she alone in the world now that she had lost her parents? It was a sad thought, especially with her having found herself so far from Sauti where the Wind Tribe hailed from... deep into Tail, almost to Jauhar. That map really had led the poor girl astray, hadn't it?
"We just want to make sure that you find those that you are trying to find with your map is all." He explained, then added, "You are of course welcome to stay here as long as you like if we can't find them though." Best to let her know this, not wanting her to think that they were trying to chase her off when that was far from the truth... especially given Takoda's desire to be her... mommy, maybe? He'd make a good one.

Korra Post 7
When the two men both asked about her family again it took the taller one to explain what the first meant for her to figure out what they were talking about. OH, they meant other family not her parents. Well...there wasn't really anyone except her cousin. That she had met once...a long long time ago...now she was starting to wonder if this cousin actually existed. She was awful young when she met her...and with her parents gone she had no one to confirm this with.
"Ah...well...I was trying to get to my cousins....she lives over the mountain from where I came from in...Tind...." It seemed like it would be impossible now to get back, but rather than get depressed about it she knew that things would look up.
"I can stay here?" She moved on, after all if she could stay here then the war couldn't get her either. Korra had heard about it before she had lost her parents...she hadn't really thought about it until this moment. "I would really like that! Do you have more meat?" SHe asked with her eyes rather large in Jacinthus's direction.

He couldn't help but feel his heart sink, alright that was a pretty selfish thing since it should be a good thing that the young girl had family that was still alive. Yet he still couldn't quite hide his disappointment and he felt horrible for that fact.
"Ah...you lived in Tind?" it would make sense as she was from the wind tribe that she would like in Sauti, but ..with the invading forces it would be difficult to actually return to her Sauti would' it? He gave his mate a side long glance, as if to express his worry about the dangers of trying to get her home. That was until the girl seemed really excited about the prospect of staying with them.
Takoda gave his lover a new look now..once that looked like he was going to set himself up for a huge let down. "Ah...yes..you can stay until the danger of the Oban's has passed...right Jacinthus?"

Jacinthus Post 7
Giving a thoughtful sound he tilted his head to one side, trying to recall exactly where Tind was. He couldn't say that he was too up to date on his Sauti geography, he had no real interest in the place since it was so far from home after all. A shame that he didn't know much about Sauti because it might help him out as far as figuring out where her cousin might live. As it was though with only a vague idea where the cousin might be, and a map that was hand drawn by a child, he wondered if there was actually a chance of finding said cousin. Where might she be? A good question but one that he knew he couldn't put his whole into solving. He wanted to help Korra but there was far too much danger out there in the form of Obans for him to go wandering off. They never knew when they might attack again after all.
When he asked if she could stay, as though wanting him to repeat it, he nodded his head, "Yeah, you can stay." He said, giving Takoda a glance, then added, "For as long as you like." Best that the invitation became an open ended one just in case. There was nothing to say that they were going to be able to find the girl's cousin, as such it was best to let her know that she was allowed to stay for as long as she wanted and needed.
"More meat? Heh, I have plenty. Takoda here doesn't eat meat but I am a big fan of it and bring as much home to prepare and eat as I can. I spent too much time as a child eating bugs and twigs, I am all for spoiling myself with good food now that I am better at hunting it down." He explained, then gave Takoda a smile, "Takoda here is good at hunting down fruit and nuts, tasty things that don't run away. So we have plenty of that sort of thing as well." Whatever she wanted really, so long as she was well fed. He knew what it was like to go to bed hungry and he would rather that didn't happen with Korra. If it meant more hunts then he would go simply go on more hunts, so long as they didn't take him too far from home then he was happy.

The shifter gave a sigh of relief at least she could stay with them until the war was over, Given that note it looked like the girl was full at least, but she needed some cleaning up...perhaps some new clothes. The ones she were wearing were perhaps little more than tattered rags. The monk had already in mind to make her some new clothes, he would just need some time to get them ready.
"I am glad you are willing to stay with us Korra, until the dangers have past then we can go on a search for your living relatives." Takoda managed as he then looked to Jacinthus, the girl really had taken a shine to him. It made him smile.
"How about you tidy her up Jacinthus? I am going to see about making her some new clothes." Takoda managed wondering if Korra was going to pester his mate for more food or if having a bath would be a good alternative.

The little girl looked to Jacinthus like he was a god, he hunted? He brought all this good food home? Moving closer to him her eyes were wide with wonder. Sure she had seen and understood the concept of livestock they had things like that back home in her village. But to go out hunting? That sounded exciting!
"Wow..." She managed to breath, before turning her head slightly to like at the dark skinned one, who managed getting cleaned up and making her some clothes. Looking down at heself she supposed that she was...a bit on the filthy side and her clothing was little less than a patchwork of fabric sewn together to form an outfit. She herself had sewn a bit to try and keep it together, then she lost her needle and was unable to patch up the work she had done.
She wasn't too thrilled about the idea of bathing, but she was dirty and her hair a tangled mess. Reaching up she tried to put her fingers through her hair much to no avail....
"Ouch!" she managed with a wince as she attempted to pull her fingers out of the mess. "Guess I do need a bath.."

Jacinthus Post 8
Jacinthus looked a touch uncertain about the task that he was given but finally nodded, "Get her cleaned up... I guess I can do that." He murmured, then motioned to Korra, "Come on then, I will show you to where I am banished to until I am cleaned up after I get back from a hunt." If he were to come home with blood on him he was almost certain that Takoda would ban him from their tree top home. As such it was always best to get himself cleaned up first. He could only hope that she didn't mind the cold water when it came to washing up and making herself presentable. Takoda really was all for cleanliness, likely a healer thing if you asked Jacin.
Leading the way away from the tree home and to where he kept a basin of water, he motioned to it, "Dive right in." He said, stepping up to it, and set to washing off his hands first, "Need to wash your hands first if you want to use them to clean anything else up. After that just plug your nose, hold your breath, and dunk your head in the water... like so." He then did so to show her how it was done, using his free hand to scrub his hair clean, then lifted it up, and shook it out, "We will of course need to brush our hair after this or else it will end up an even worse, tangle up mess, but we will get to that after you get your hair rinsed clean."
Digging around in his pack he got a piece of soap out, something he'd traded for with those who knew how to make it, and offered it to her, "Here you go. Once you are all cleaned up then Takoda will let us in the house." He said with a laugh.

Takoda chuckled at his lovers words, yes it was true there was an area he was banished to until he was cleaned up from hunting. The shifter had seen his fair share of blood in his life time due to his profession, but this didn't mean he was comfortable with it.
Still as his lover went to get himself and the new temporary addition to their household cleaned up he felt himself fooling himself. Fooling himself into thinking he wouldn't get attached to the little girl. Smiling he went to gather some materials to see about fashioning her some clothing.

Korra Post 9 Tilting her head she gathered herself up and then carefully folded her map into in a small square before going to give it to the dark skinned shifter. "Please hold this." She asked politely as she then hurried to catch up with the taller man. Her bright eyes looked at his broad back, wondering idly if her fathers back was like that. Strangely she couldn't recall though this didn't seem to bother her as the new focus was now to get herself cleaned up. Fed she was happily full, and since she slept the entire way here she was very alert. Looking at the basic she moved towards it as he mentioned diving right in. She gave a giggle as it wasn't really big enough to 'dive' into she enthusiastically plunged her hands into it and gave a small giggling shriek finding it was really cold. She observed how he washed his hands and she went about trying to mimic him. Taking the soap offered to her and marveling at it a moment before setting to work on her fingers. When he went about dunking his head into the water she started to laugh and splashed him as he came back out, his hair and face dripping with water. Licking her lips she was trying to psych herself up to dunk her own face into the basin as well. Handing the soap over to him she took a deep and perhaps exaggerated breath and then plunged her head into the water. IT WAS COLD. And a bit of a shock to her system, her face was out of the water quite quickly, she was still giggling her heart out as water dripped all over the place.

Jacinthus Post 10
Jacin reached over to take the map from Korra, looking it over again, wishing that he knew what everything on it meant... but it was drawn from the perspective of a child, not to mention by the hand of a child. As such the thing was going to be impossible for him to really decipher. He felt that he really sure figure it out though, wanting nothing more then to be able to help her... but he supposed what they were doing now as helping, right? They were looking after her, keeping her safe, feeding her, cleaning her up, all those sorts of things. Looking up toward the tree top home that had shared with his mate he gave a little smile before looking down at the girl once more. He supposed he could understand where Takoda came from, he bet it was Aysun and Chandra that had caused this desire for a child. If the girl went home with his missing cousin though he worried about Takoda, about him ending up heart broken. What should he do then? That was the question.
What worried him was that it wasn't as though the world at the moment was a peaceful one in which their only concern was the welfare of this one child. There were still the Obans skulking about there like some sort of predatory beasts. He didn't like them, didn't trust them, wanted the lost of them to get out of Tale and go back to Oba where they belonged. Only then would he be able to really focus on anything but their looming presence, feeling that it was too important to ignore.
Dragged out of his darkening thoughts when the girl gave a little shreik he turned his attention to her, starring a moment, then gave a bit of a smile. Well, at least she was having fun? Something he felt he should emulate, to try to relax and have a bit of fun time or down time instead of being on edge, often patroling, and otherwise giving an eye out for the treacherous Oban Army. Doing his best to push the thoughts aside he said, "Once you are cleaned up we will see about finding you something dry and comfortable to wear, maybe one of Takoda's shirts would be comfortable for you... though it might end up as a bit of a baggy dress." He wondered if she would be alright with that, maybe if they tied something around her waist as a belt?

Oblivious to the man's worrying she shivered and shook her head trying to get her short wavy hair to release some of the water that clung to them. She offered a broad smile to Jacinthus and then gave a exaggerated chattering of her teeth. A baggy dress? She supposed that was better than a real bag, or her rather damp clothing.
"Sure! I mean wait I am not clean? " she asked with a confused tilt of her head. Did she need more cleaning up? Looking herself over she examined her hands intently before looking up to Jacinthus again.
"Are you going to get cleaned up too?" She inquired with such child like innocence it was hard for most people not to coo how adorable she was. She received such treatment in the foster home she lived in after her parents died.

Takoda: Post 10
The shifter was puttering about waiting for the pair to come back from getting ready. He felt himself shift a bit uneasy and feeling his heart flutter in his chest. He knew Jacinthus would be hungry and perhaps despite eating so much maybe Korra would want something besides meat. He gave a small shudder at the little carnivore and had to smile a bit on how it reminded him of Jacinthus.
How he wished she was really their flesh and blood...how...nice it would be to be parents. Perhaps he was jealous of Keilana and her two sons...not that he envied how she got them...giving birth wasn't exactly an easy thing to do.. but still.
Looking behind himself to where the pair had gone off to clean. He tried to hide the worries in his heart and prepare the two something to eat.
