Volle post 8
Vollerei grinned and ruffled the child's hair gently. "It is. It was abandoned till a few weeks ago when I claimed it. It's a little battered, but nothing some hard work can't fix. The structure and steps are sound."
Valera nodded. "It will need new bark on the outside. The steps look fine. Come along Neska."
Vollerei, looking at the nervous Neska, picked her up and settled her on a hip. "There'll be plenty of time later for her to try and climb by herself." She said as she started up the stairs.

Neska post 9
Neska squeaked as Vollerei scooped her up but calmed down quickly. Vollerei had a gentle touch for all that she was abrupt. It was a lot like being held by her mommy's.... Though much more squishy!
She peeked at Vollerei's face before looking away and around. The land fell away as Valera and Vollerei quickly and skillfully climbed the small branches that formed the stairs.
It was quite fun. Maybe I'll try climbing them by myself later, she thought to herself.
At the top Vollerei set her down and let them into her house.

Vollerei smiled as she saw Neska peek then look away. The tyke was adorable! Real shy though.
"Here we are." Vollerei said as she set the girl down and opened the door. "It's a lot cleaner than it was, but still rather bare." Now that people other than family and Liro were here she was kind of embarrassed by the starkness. Though no one could fault the cleanness!
Valera looked around and made hmm-ing noises. "Curtains are a must. Those rugs are decent and don't clash too much. Better make the curtains a neutral color so they don't clash." Her eyes lit up: she did so love designing the inside of homes. "The furniture's a little eclectic. You may want to trade some in for ones that have duller corners." Her hand tapped the sharp edges of a side table. Vollerei nodded. "Most were gifts. So they're all over the place. Any furniture I should get?" "A low table for this center room. The chairs and cushions on them look fine, though you should get some extra pillows and cushions as well as a few blankets to stash here for a colder day. Another shelf is also needed. The kitchen and eating area..." She paused as she looked in and saw the full wall of cooking gear, drying herbs, spice cabinet and lovely furniture, "is perfect."
Vollerei grinned. Course it was! She never skimped when it came to anything dealing with food! She made note of everything that was being said, it was good advice!

Neska post 10
Neska half listened to them, she was far more interested in the odd pole along one side of the room. What's it for? It was laid horizontal and about a foot off the ground. Beneath it was a reed pad . The pole itself had several small gouges in it.
"V.. Vollerei? What's that?" She asked shyly in a quiet voice as she pointed to it.

Vollerei looked over when she heard the tiny voice pop up. She grinned and walked over to the door. Looking out she gave a sharp whistle to call Zweil in. Normally she let him lurk outside since it let him exercise himself so he wasn't too active at night.
He came at her call, much larger than the baby she'd taken him in as. His large blue wings buffeted Vollerei as he landed on her arm.
"That's Zweil's perch." She said as she turned around with a grin. "This is Zweil. Full name of Zweilcht."

Neska's eyes grew really big and a big smile stretched across her face. "Kinfa!" She squealed happily as she bounced around Vollerei. "Like Jene!" She said as she held out her doll.
Valera looked surprised then happy. It appears that the Kinfa would be quite useful in getting Neska healed of her grief.
"Can I pet it? Pleeeaseee~" She begged.

Vollerei chuckled as she set Zweil down on his perch. He was just as interested in the child as she was in him. Perhaps it had treats to feed him? This small not mommy might have them, yes?
He chirped as he looked up at Vollerei then back to the child. Volle, knowing her kinfa, chuckled again. "Yeah, she's got a treat for you if you let her pet you." She said. She handed Neska a handful of berries from her pouch (she was never without snacks! Never!) "Feed him this then pet him. Don't give him a hug just yet. It might scare him." She said with a grin.

Neska was over the moon with delight. A real live kinfa! She nodded, half listening to Vollerei as she waited to be handed the treats to feed the glorious creature.
"Pretty birdy." She said as she offered the berries. Giggling as Zweil ate gently from her hand, she gently ran her hand over the feathers.
"Soft!" She exclaimed as she looked up at Vollerei and her gandmother.

Vollerei chuckled and stood back up. "Why don't you watch Zweil for me? Give him lots of pets while your grandmother and I go and talk house?" She asked then chuckled as she saw the girl wasn't paying attention.
"We could probably finish and she'll not realize we've left the room." She said with a smile to Valera.
Valera nodded. "The Kinfa will make it easier for her. This shouldn't be a difficult move at all."
"Mm. Though she's not moving in yet. Maybe in a while." Vollerei said as she showed the rest of the house off. They talked for a few hours after wards, what to keep, what to replace, what was needed. Zweil and Neska spent that time playing together. Zweil loved getting pets and Neska couldn't get enough of petting him!
