At first he was too shocked to react, then too happy it felt his heart would simply burst from his chest and then that would be the end of him, but soon enough as they tumbled to the floor together, he was kissing her back with all the fierce intensity of without emotion. All his pent-up desire was poured into that kiss and he knew that she was all he would ever need in this world. "He never really went anywhere," Noble chuckled after he had caught his breath. He held her in an equally tight hold, as if he would never let her up again. "Tsk. You are such a fool, my love. Though perhaps we both are. You are worth it, you always have been. If you were not, I would be living my lie somewhere else. Instead I am here and always willing to give up my game for you. You are everything to me." He buried his face in her hair, taking in a deep breath. "Besides, royalty are well known for being marrying within the family."

aussie aussie aussie "Oi oi oi.." Nevermore was blushing so brightly she wondered if she glowed. "You've just confessed and you're already taking about marriage. You're getting into this bad habit of just assuming things and not asking me before hand." she brushed a lock of her own hair from his face and poked out her tongue. "Besides other phony would notice then and where would the fun be in that..?"She enjoyed the smile on his face and how alive he seemed. "Marriage huh.." she mumbled, staring up at the ceiling of their home. "I didn't really consider it before. Mother and Father's, Wisp's, even yours yes..but never did I think anyone foolish enough for me." She chuckled softly and sighed. No, that was a bit of a lie, she had considered once or twice. She rolled to the side, tucking her head under Noble's fore leg and laying her head on his shoulder. "I'd even considered, spirits help me, you getting married to the ah, lady of the lake.." For once her tone wasn't dripping acid. She instead sounded a little sad, but wistful. She looked up at him. "You..still could if you wanted.." she said quietly. She was contented. She was happy. The world could end now and she would have considered herself having found her happily ever after. But still she worried. Though he'd said he'd gladly give up his game for her, she didn't want him too, it would be giving up a part of him. Nevermore loved him, all of him, game and all. "I love you and all that you entails. If that means..." children, his and hers, his by another, their continued charade, the rejection of their family, any and all of it. "...whatever it might mean." she said. "So long as you love me first and foremost..and we can lay like this together in the end."Ruriska Sorry I am a terrible person and that has been seared into my brain

"I was only making a comparison. If I was going to propose, I’d do it with a bit more flair." Noble Born said with a soft ‘tsk’ afterwards. "You always jump to conclusions." When she continued on with the talk of marriage and then suggested that he marry La Llorona, of all people, he gave a sharp bark of laughter. "You are not serious?" He turned his head to better get a look at her expression. "You are? Oh, Nev. I've talk to her only a couple of times and suddenly you’re imagining me riding off into the sunset with her." It was ridiculous. LaLo was certainly interesting but he was hardly going to make her a permanent fixture in his life. He held her close, loving and protective. No matter what else they faced, they would always have this moment to look back on. "Always, my dear. Through it all you have been and always will be the only one I truly love. Whatever happens, I will be by your side until the end of time."

"So you're not going to ask me to marry you?" Nev playfully whined and pouted at him. "Noble you're so mean, getting my hopes upppppp!!" she giggled softly and sighed with relief. Lalo in short bursts would be...tolerable...kinda. A selfish bit of her heart twinged, and she pushed the feeling down for now. Relaxed, curled tightly against his body, Nev could smell the scent of the poison on his fur again, hear the steady beat of his heart, feel the warmth of his arms, see the look of happiness in his eyes and her heart fluttered. Her mind hummed with all the times they'd side glanced the other, protected the other, joked about..things. "Heyy..Noble?" Nevermore blushed deeply, suddenly uncharacteristically shy. She buried her face in his chest and murmured. "When you joked about..things in the house being big enough for two..were you uhm...I mean..." She couldn't look at him she was blushing so hard. Yes, they were in love but did that mean they'd also be..well... There was a line right? Their hearts were so far past the line it was impossible to go back, but their bodies were a different matter weren't they? Not that she hadn't considered it, hell she'd mouthed off pretty boldly about it once. But she was trying to shock Lalo into getting lost. "Can I..sleep in your bed tonight..?"

" Not right now I’m not. Perhaps in the future the world will be ready for an incestuous royal wedding," his tone was light, but he could imagine a time far away, when he’d given up pretending there was any kindness in his heart and they could be together without caring what the rabble thought. He closed his eyes, listening to her breathing and memorizing this moment. He felt the soft quiver of her body and the even the heat from her cheeks. At the request he only chuckled. That so-called line was nothing to them anymore. One more step would hardly make a difference. " I wouldn’t let you sleep anywhere else tonight." She belonged to him and he would finally make that claim physical. Noble Born felt no hesitation or second thoughts. This was how it should be.

Nevermore beamed and nuzzled into Noble's cheek. Reaching up, she pulled the pink ribbon loose and her hair came undone, cascading down over herself and onto him. Standing up, she playfully took it in her mouth and dropped it over his face. Flicking her hair over her shoulder, she winked at him and climbed the stairs purring in a faux southren accent; "Ah so tired..such a long evening..I should lay down least I get a chill and catch my death."---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The sound of thunder roused Nev from her sleep. Slowly opening her eyes, she saw the purple blue of the evening fast overtaking the last bits of yellow and pink in the sky. Thunder rumbled again as she yawned and scrubbed at her eyes. If it was going to rain again all night, she'd better stay home or she really would come down with a cold. Glad of the chance to sleep in, Nev pulled the cover back up to her shoulder, rolled over, and nearly jumped out of her skin. The sleeping body next to her shifted a little and sighed. Oh, it was only Noble. She relaxed. Only Noble... Noble? Weird..why would he..Oh. She blinked and then flushed. Ohhhhhhh...... The memories of the last evening's "actives" hit her like a ton of bricks. She blushed deeply in recollection but chuckled. They'd really gone and complicated their lives now hadn't they? Still, she couldn't complain. She had the dream, a stallion who knew her well, who loved her fiercely, who made her feel safe, wanted, and desired, who put up with her worse nature with good humor, the kind of partner any phony would want. They were joined by the red thread, were twin stars, other halves, the lock and key. They just happened to have had the same parents. The universe had a strange sense of humor about these kind of things. Nevermore curled into Noble, burying her face into his chest and sighed peacefully. Then she coughed, and coughed again, her shoulders shaking. Aw man. Ruriska Can be "The End" unless you want Noble to post his thoughts about the morning after and that can be the end!
