“Er...” she thought for a moment, “It depends? I mean, things rot more if they're wet, or in a place with lots of rot things, like a swamp... cept things don't rot that quickly in other parts of the swamp because the rot things don't always like it after a while...” she trailed off. “But uh, yes I can make dyes...”

She thought for a moment, “Er, well... Fluffotton can work for the blue... But I have everything else.” she squinted at the skins. “They're back at my lair, though.” she blinked, “Are you... offering to help me look around?” she said, incredulous, “And gather herbs and things like that?”

“Its just that...” she hesitated, “My cousins think it's boring.” They had to be 'encouraged' by the tribe's elders to go with her, and even then...

Well...

She made a wary sort of happy sound. “All right then! I know what I'm looking for.” for the most part, anyway. And even when she didn't know, she usually found it. “I'll show you when I find an example... then?”

He seemed safe enough, she felt safe enough. Safe enough would have to be enough, though: this forest was not very safe in general.

Her belly filled with wood and leaves (not the best food but it was food, at least for her), she stood, “I guess we should start this way...” She started walking, waiting nervously for him, hoping he would follow and not decide to... She had no idea what he would do. She didn't want to speculate.

“So you're a Peisio...” she said, as they walked, “Are you from the ocean?”
