Hmm. "Sounds like bliss if it was as shitastic as it is now," Jack commented with a wry smile. But the idea of being so displaced in time gave him pause. It was one thing to wake up and barely know anyone there, and another to do it once, mysteriously get podded again, and then wake up and do it all over again knowing that most of one's peers were leagues ahead.
It made his skin itch. So much time wasted without even knowing why?
"Well, given what I know, ascending the ranks doesn't sound like too much of a challenge for you," he said as he turned over more bones unsuccessfully. "Assuming you don't hit any more snags. God ******** damn this stupid ******** task."

"I wish Cami was here too, s**t," Hanna said, stomping on another skull. Tons of skulls, not so much tablets. "It took us less than ten minutes to find and bag three Fear-infused items over by the crater. She had a sixth sense about it, almost. Apparently, I do not."
