Ying stood very very still. She was at least fond of the bugs (after all, bugs were excellent couriers for diseases), but the horn touching was .... well ... odd. Odd to say the least.

"Um ... e-excuse me sir is there a um ... well okay ..." He wasn't exactly causing her harm. So.

Wrath's large and looming form was present, and the ashen soldier stood there blinking at the landscape, wondering if what he'd had to drink the night before was the cause of all of this. It didn't really feel quite right, however, and that feeling became even more so when Medea appeared beside a portal to speak, followed closely by Charon. Both were figures of authority in the Death clan, though to Rathsvith one more so then the other.

One was, after all, a representative of Death himself.

Unsure quite of what was going on, or why they were all gathered here in this place, Wrath reached up to scratch at his beard with the metal claw adorning his index finger. Since arriving at the lost clans sanctuary, his thoughts had been dark, stained with a need for revenge. In that regard, it was the high priestesses words that resounded with him most.

Though that was not to say that Charon's words did not hold any merit within themselves as well. Broken. In need of repair. Time to heal.

Help the lost.

Giving his head a sharp shake, he let his eyes wander those who were gathered, his indecision a thing to ponder over, though the decision might have been made easier if he found a familiar face to confide in.

Very nervous this one, so unlike what he had known about the Conquest clan indeed. How so few he had encountered before, she was making this very entertaining. "It was right there." He seemed to be attempting to explain; because yes, her horn had been right there for the touching. And he just kind of wanted to.

"Something That Waits." The alchemist told her, finally done with the poking. His hand returned to rest at his side as another centipede slithered its way out onto the sleeve, followed by another one. "You?" Yes, he was making introductions if she didn't realize.

Dreams were a peculiar thing really. People had them, they wished for them, and sometimes they just showed up on their own. Frankly, Asteria wasn't much for dreams and worrying over them. Making ones own future was the course best followed. Moving forward at a steady and assured pace.

Which was why the sight of decay before her earned a look of disdain. Even as they moved, an almost too scripted speech ready, she knew that there was to be some respect for the elder priestess. She'd not met her before, but Medea... had an aura about her to be revered. To a degree. Not worshiped. Yet. Still, her words were curious, and what could be called an understanding was made with them.

They were being forgotten. Shoved to a corner. Let to 'exist' and any form of proper respect for who they were as a people long since lost. Which was more than a bit disgusting. Though Medea, she spoke of taking it all back, regaining their lost lands. A tantalizing prospect to he war horsewoman as she crossed her arms to listen. A smirk may have tweaked at her lips, that satisfied feeling that perhaps all those things she felt herself mentally looking for solutions for could be found.

At least until Charon approached from his own portal. Tsk, his speech, however, she could have done without. A wrong choice? To want to be respected? Feared? To behave as they were meant to? Medea was correct, they were everything meant to be terrifying and grand. Why should they be so complacent to just sit about and do nothing? To take what pathetic means were given to them? "And so should it not be we as a whole who choose?" She stated firmly, not the least bit impressed.

It seemed some were divided, but at least she heard a few of her fellow clansman speak up in agreement to the fact that they were not some beast close to extinction to hide away for some other crucial time as Charon suggested. No, she may not have known the priestess, but her words held true.

She'd work to reclaim what was lost, one way or another.

Staring in awe at the landscape, Qi sat herself down, watching the priestess, Medea and Charon with interest. Steepling her fingers, she rested her chin upon them, curious on how all this was to play out. Eying the horseman around her, perhaps now was a good time to see if her boys were about.

Dreams were things that the Priestess of Death was very familiar with. To find herself within one once again was of little surprise to her, eyes open to what was in front of her, ears open to what the dream had to tell her.

Their right... as horsemen?

They were strange comments, but Nkosazana understood that the dream may have been a message, and she reached for it, reached --

Medea. It had been an eon since she had seen the Head Priestess. Her mind was set on revenge, Nkosazana could tell, as she talked. Why would they let themselves fall to a reservation beside a school where they were mocked? It was a valid question, but Nkosazana had never felt any of the mockery she claimed. She hated the Hunters, there was no doubt, but Nkosazana had not encountered one since. And her dealings with the students had been nothing but positive.

Agsilved and Pokerus initially came to mind.

Though she heard many horsemen nearby already declaring that they would align with such, Nkosazana had no intention of doing so. To go against the Head Priestess might be blasphemy, but Charon's words resonated with Nkosazana.

Find the lost.

Time to repair.

Revenge is petty.

Nkosazana licked her lips as she glanced towards Charon. That was what she would do, for now... Help find the lost. This was more important than any anger they had against the Hunters. That could wait, for when they were fully ready to take on such a challenge.

Right now, they were most assuredly not.

"Don't give me that look, Lan," said Mengyao, slanting a gaze towards her, his dual colored eyes flickering a little. He wasn't dressed in his normal robes, instead wearing a black tunic edged with gold and black pants, his hair tied back in a fashion remarkably similar to his other self. "You should know as well as I do the consequences of taking the wrong path."

Clearly he hadn't missed the expression on her face as she'd turned to the unnamed Death stallion, or the way she seemed to gravitate towards him; but Mengyao lifted his chin, a faintly amused smirk on his lips as he he shifted away to consider Shikoba's words.

Even in a dream, the wild impetuousness of the War clan was disdainful to him. Still, what he said had merit, and it was not entirely outlandish to consider. They were not some creatures to be tethered to a school built for children; and they were most certainly not savages. The Famine and War clans could have been considered feral and wild in their actions, but Conquest was too proud and too confident to be considered anything less than impressive.

Mengyao hated the idea that they were looked down upon. They were nobody's toys, after all.

His eyes strayed to an unfamiliar stallion, dark haired and dark skinned, standing somewhere nearby. He smiled a little, his expression musing, and stepped closer, sweeping his dark, braided hair over one shoulder.

"What do you think of all of this?" he asked.

Not another dream again.

Yves stared at the two marbles atop the table and sighed. The set up was obviously rigged such that he had no choice but to go with the red one. The black one was a lost cause - he wasn't going to be stupid to go for that one. Besides, red was a good colour to the War stallion all things considered but if this was going to lead to another drop down a certain rabbit hole like the last dream he had...

Something about the voice that spoke of the Horsemen's rebirth told him that this was going to be different though and it was with great trepidation that he stretched his hand out to seize the red marble. The darkness around him almost immediately gave way to a blazing white. Hissing at the momentarily discomfort that that was causing him, he lifted a hand to shield his eyes, curiosity in his gaze now at the bizarre landscape that greeted him as soon as he was able to see.

He spotted the familiar faces of Shaheen and Shikoba, their stand in the matter obvious from their words alone as yet another of their clan (Asteria) appeared to share the same sentiment about the need for a change from their current circumstances. Moving to stand with his fellow clansmen, he swept his gaze over the remaining Horsemen who had already gathered, searching for a certain Death Guardian in the hope that she too would share his sentiment in this.

"I say that this mockery of an existence has gone on for far too long and I find myself growing weary of it." He echoed his support for Medea's cause. Surely the others would understand - after all they had hardly made any progress in reclaiming their homes and rebuilding what they once were back when the four clans were separate entities. "It is time that we take things into our own hands and forge the future exactly how we want it."

Tseng stood there in complete silence, oddly enough, as he watched the exchanges among his brethren. He was at a loss. His kin quarreled among one another, which was not something he wished to see. They were a great and proud race and they should stand united in glory. Not this.

His gaze looked between Medea and Charon respectively, not knowing who to side with. He didn't want to have to pick a side. Both had points worth merit. They had fallen from their once glorious ways. They needed to rebuild, still, one way or another.

The conquest horsemen puffed his cheeks and sat himself down onto the sand.

What should a future hero of the horsemen do?
PostPosted: Sat Jun 07, 2014 10:34 am

It seemed that, while letting his gaze roam in search of some familiarity, somebody had noticed him. Eyes stopping to rest on the man, conquest from the looks of him, he shifted his weight and took the few steps it took with long legged strides to reach where he, and some others, were gathered.

"While I am relatively new to our current situation, I have spent most of what time I have had contemplating what comes next. Revenge has come to mind often." His voice rumbled, and he reached up to stroke at his beard yet more, head turning as he caught sight of at least one face that he knew, standing further off. Nkosazana could hardly be called a close friend, however, and his eyes flickered back to present company, noting that the Priestess, Nergui, stood with them.

"Both leaders make their points well, and both are tempting. I am afraid that I have not yet been swayed, but I might say this: I have not ever, in my life, hidden in the shadows. I preferred to be the one casting them."

More had come to join them, those of war who quickly gave their support to Medea's cause. Shaheen's fingers continued to flex, and her gaze flickered down to her hand, the one emblazoned with the mark of destruction.

She held that hand up for those gathered to see.

"I am done with talking. I am done with being less then what we should be. Those who would follow us, follow Medea, do so now. We can still find others, we can still rebuild, but we can do so upon the glory of our conquest. We are horsemen of the apocalypse. It's time to act like such." She gave Lan another look, this one harder then before, distant, empty. She could not let emotional ties break her decision. She would not have come so far if she had ever let that be the case.

Reaching to clasp Shikoba's clawed hand within her own, she motioned towards him, and to those others of War who's decisions were more clearly made.

It was time.

She did give Meng that look. She gave him that look because she both knew she could, and felt that his actions and words merited such a look.

"Choices cannot be made for my own wants, nor my own desires. Yet they are not to be dismissed. You ask I follow, that I join and seek a power which was not ours to begin with." Her eyes scanned the area, noting how it was nothing like their homeland, not really.

A slight bow of her head, she bit back the worry as the King and Emperor echoed in the appearance of her friend. "All the more reason that I do not walk the same path that you have so taken." There it was, her choice. "Yet make no mistake Mengyao, where I stand is on the edge. This path you dash down is unknown to us. It is one fraught with uncertainty and makes light of the gamble it presents. You once asked me to be your aid in matters of choice."

She glared at him, defiantly reminding him that she wouldn't bow to his wishes alone. "So I offered my voice then, let me offer it once more. The path of Medea is not one I would walk- lacking all the knowledge of her demands, the outcomes. She has shown herself to be willing to risk the clans for the sake of her own hatred. And that is a risk which does not endear me to her cause, however much I might desire revenge."

"I am sorry Shaheen. There is no absolute knowledge here, only the words of two and the risk of many." Feet shuffled, wanting to back away and glanced to Aeron, voice softer for his ears alone.
"By my side is all I would ask."

He reached out and caught Lan's arm before she turned away, graying fingers wrapped loosely around her slender wrist. There was a strange look on Mengyao's face, something between pity and sadness, and his eyes searched hers momentarily, as though trying to figure something out.

"Just be sure that the choice you are making is the one you believe to be right," he said quietly, and there was no malice in his tone, no usual judgment or anger or disdain; merely a flat sort of softness. "I care too much about your well-being to see you do something you would later regret."

His fingers fell away from her wrist. "Do not let anything take away the entirety of the pride which you deserve as a Horsewoman of Conquest."

And then Mengyao had stepped away from her, brushing past her to the other horseman he had seen earlier, a muscle in his jaw tensing. Mengyao wondered where he had been before; he was not familiar to him, the casual rumbling deep and contemplative.

"Well then," said Mengyao evenly. "Allow me to help sway you in your decision. Medea, while not the most trustworthy of people, has the right idea; we should not stand idly by and allow the humans and the creatures to trample us as though we are meaningless, as though we are below them. We belong in our rightful place, and she has the resources that will allow us to do that. Charon's ideals are weak-minded; we will not survive should you choose to follow him. Medea's plan to move forward without letting any get in our way is the only option should we want to live our lives the way we deserve to."

His eyes drifted briefly to Lan again, then back to the horseman.

"The way we are meant to."

The priestess was quiet as she listened to the other's talking, mulling over their choices, and when Lan broke off, choice clear, those mismatched eyes turned away as an odd look flitted over dark features. Surprise, giving way to disappointment as she shook her head.

It was Wrath the priestess went to, reaching his side as Mengyoa spoke up to enlighten the ashen soldier to the severity of the choice that was laid out before them.

"The denizens of Halloween would see us integrate into their society to be swallowed up and forever lost as a people. The Hunters seek to eradicate us in full." There was an edge to her voice that spoke of long harbored frustration. "Mengyoa is right." Medea was right.

Those mismatched eyes looked up into the battle scarred face beside her, and there was a shared knowledge there, a mutual desire for bloodshed and carnage. That was what it meant to be Death. They were not merely the shadows in the night, they were the blade that struck down the masses. "Charon would destroy us as a people for peace. We are not made for such soft ideals."
