Hallows_Eve INNER_EYE Hallows_Eve 1. Cliff 2. Ron 3. Jason Cliff was Metallica, he was their determination and when died, Metallica died. They lost all their respect, as they went from one of the least mainstream bands to the most mainstream thrash band in existence. Ron was the second thrash bassist ever, mostly cause of his time in Leather Charm (Hetfield's band before Metallica, where they wrote "Hit The Lights"). Not sure why I said Jason.. He was good in Flotsam & Jetsam and Voivod, but he sucked during his time with Metallica =S Do you mind telling a bit more why he "sucked" in metallica? Comparitively.. He had wrote and performed better bass-lines while in Flotsam & Jetsam and Voivod. He was hazed on AJ4A.. His Bass-lines on Load and Reload were quite poor. His Black Album bass lines were pretty good, though, but that's it. You know he almost didnt write any bass lines while in metallica? He only wrote bass lines for - Blackened and My Friend Of Missery. And the intro guitarr for Where the wild things are. ( I would say more but in school right now) O.o

Even thou he played with Ozzy for a "long" time wink (Pulls the: Played-with-the-former-singer-of-your-favourite-band-card.) razz And sorry yea I just have to mention: He rocks >.< Even the band goth breathless first time they played with him beeing suprised that the first song he wanted to play with them was battery. (which is a song where you need some frantic bass skills O.o )

I'm going to say Cliff. He was the best in my opinion. Jason disappointed me in leaving the band. And I don't care much for Rob's style for playing the bass. neutral

My favorite is Cliff Burton. I even have the Cliff 'em All dvd. Unfortunately he is longer alive...but Jason Newstead did an okay job filling the position. Which if you think about it, it doesn't really matter because the bass is in the background....the guitars and the drums is what people really hear.... most of the time anyway....

the story behind all this really confuses me. Cliff burton is in megadeth right?? But he was in metallica just before the recording of kill em all??? ah i'm confused maybe i'm thinking of Dave Mustaine.

Cliff of course. His work was the best. I too have the Cliff 'Em all movie on tape. I love watching him play.
