"Small? I'm actually fully grown and kind of large for my breed, but no matter." He replied to the comment about his size. It didn't offend him to be called small, but he didn't want this stallion to think he wasn't mature.
Killian looked back and forth between the two. "Well, it's a bit silly to call one stallion two names, so I suppose I'll just call you Blaze as well." He nodded profoundly, as if the matter was closed, no objections would be heard.
He gave a smile to Sylmeria, and nodded at her. "Great to meet you Meri. It seems we are done with all the pleasantries, how about we get this adventure party started! I'm eager to get my hooves moving. There are trails to blaze and exciting things to find." His excitement was pouring out of him. He could barely hold still with it all. With that, he promptly set off, head held high, with his feathery cape blowing in the breeze. He took a few steps, stopped then turned around. "Uh, not that direction," he said, a puzzled look on his face. "This way!" he called, and marched off towards the opposite direction.

Sylmeria smiled at 'Blaze'. "Oh good. I guess that makes sense but still Blaze seems much better to me. At least with me it'll stick."
Sylmeria perked up as Killian announced they'd be going on their way. She followed his prancing happily. She was confused for a moment when he stopped and she looked off into the distance wondering what might be that way that would make it a bad choice. After a bit of internal deliberation she unquestioningly switched directions and dashed off after the black and white mini stallion.

If there was any surprise in Sandsablaze's face, he hid it well. So, the little stallion was fully grown? As he'd begun to think. So these must be the mini breed he'd heard of before? But they looked so young to him... He just sighed at himself. "But still smaller than I am." He teased lightly, chuckling and offering Killian a smile. "However forgive me if I offended you, Killian."
With the debate over what to call him concluded, Sandy gave both smaller Soquili a nod. "Then today, I am Blaze." He clearly did not mind what they called him. And Miss Sylmeria was quite cute with her reasoning. How could he argue with her?! "Lead the way!" He encouraged, waiting for the little mare to follow after before he brought up the rear. Like a father watching his colts. Except there were no colts here. And then Killian was stopping suddenly, reconsidering which direction to go. Sandy just laughed, following along beside Sylmeria.

He chuckled to himself at his own mistake. As they got on their way, he smiled happily that he was able to scratch the itch he'd had for a while. He was really excited about getting to find new places and explore new things.
He decided to strike up a conversation. "So, do you guys go exploring very often? Or is this your first time?" Killian hadn't really been on many adventures, especially not with comrades, nor had he ever really gone too far from home. He was both excited and anxious about this endeavor. "I'd like to say this isn't my first time, but it kind of is. First time going in a group, so there's that...." he trailed off and waited for them to reply.

Sylmeria trotted alongside the others. Her head swiveling about looking at all the flowers and shrubs and such that they passed while listening intently to Killian. "I'm more of a home body usually. I haven't explored anywhere beyond the meadow around the lake actually. It's gotten really old and boring seeing the same stuff lately though so I'm game for going wherever really. As long as you don't get me lost anyway. That'd be bad."

Oh to be young, Sandy thought to himself, keeping an easy pace with the two smaller ones. He watched ahead of Killian, glancing at Sylmeria every little bit with a smile, and then would glance over his shoulder. Always alert to their surroundings. His ears swiveled forward as Killian spoke, and the stallion had to chuckle softly. "I must admit, this is not my first time going on... such an adventure." He admitted, offering the other two a grin. "I happen to be of a more nomadic nature myself. So I travel quite a bit. Can't really say I'm fond of staying in one place too long." Though he did have his few locations he'd return to frequently. Like the desert and the lovely meadow Sunny called home.
"So it your first big adventure, is it?" He asked both of them, quite happy to be tagging along for it. "I do hope it's exciting for us! I can't really remember my first venture out on my own, without parents around." The stallion tilted his head, considering it. "I think I was a just as bad when I was a foal too." His daughter certainly had been!

"A nomad?" he repeated curiously. He seemed to recall that meant that he was a traveler and didn't stay in one place for too long. Perhaps this could mean that Blaze knew where they might be heading, or somewhere they could go. As much as Killian wanted to adventure, he wasn't exactly good with directions....nor did he really know where they were going. His plan had consisted of picking a direction and just going. That's a good plan right? For now though, he would just pretend that he knew where they were going. If they got lost, then perhaps he would ask the older, taller stallion for advice.
As they walked further away from the lake, the terrain seemed to grow steeper. The flat land turned into rolling hills. Here and there were large boulders, and a few scattered trees. The hills lie at the base of a mountain who's face was much too steep for ponies to dare try and climb, though it did pose a great challenge if they tried. There at the base of the mountain where two hills seemed to come together was the opening to a small cave.
