"You're welcome," Mossflower replied, looking somewhat confused herself. She'd been watching his face, saw his open-mouthed bafflement and was wondering if she'd said something wrong.
But when he turned back to her, she was all smiles. "Of course you can."

Crooner shifted his weight from hoof to hoof, suddenly shy.
"I've been trying to get you to like me this whole time. I tried every trick in the book, but you ain't buyin'. How come? Did I say somethin' wrong?"
"Oh, but I do like- ah" her cheeks blushed red as she suddenly, finally caught on to what he'd been trying to do, "you mean like-like?"
Mossflower gave him an equally shy smile. "I'm sorry. You didn't say anything wrong. It's just that I like you as a friend. Is that okay?"

Ah, his first time being shot down. Crooner felt the word friend in his stomach, and he shivered, then smiled.
"I've been listenin' to some rad music, and they make it seem so easy to make girls fall for them. Like, one song and they're gone ya know? But I guess that sorta thing doesn't just happen."
Despite feeling sad that he failed, Crooner was happy that Mossflower was honest with him. At least he knew what didn't work now, so he could find something that would makes the dames line up to see him!
"Thanks for bein' my test subject doll." he said, turning to leave. "Maybe we can hang sometime, as friends."
"Yeah, I don't think it works like that," she said with a little smile. "Or maybe it just doesn't work on me." It might also be because she already had a little crush on somebody else.
Mossflower got off her seat and approached. "I hope you find somebody who like-likes you too." She then gave him a quick hug before he could go. "I'm sure we'll be great friends though. See ya later!"
