"Oooh!" she nodded, as if understanding what he was saying at last. "Why yes! My coat IS a lovely blue color, thank you for noticing!" She smiled brightly at him. What a pleasant fellow this was! Why, she couldn't remember the last time she met such a charming young stallion. And to compliment her on her lovely markings... yes, this fellow was indeed a winner... Though... she cocked her head as she tried to recall what he was competing in. He must be competing in something, after all, to be a winner.Of course... she didn't see anyone else around. Could one win a competition if there was no one else playing?

Davros just sighed as he felt more of his brain cells slipping into what must have been oblivion. He was going to miss those cells in time. How did such a creature even manage from day to day, he wondered to himself. Further more, how did he keep finding these people? Was he carrying magnets in his pockets or something? He cast his eyes briefly upon the metal ware around his neck wondering if that could have anything to do with these strange happenings. Regardless, he really wasn't sure what to do with this mini mare who's mind was clearly vacant. "I...should probably be leaving soon."

“Oh, of course,” she nodded. That made sense. A prime athlete like him would be a very busy individual. Why did she think he was an athlete? Oh… he must have told her so. Yes, that made sense. That even explained how he could win a game when there wasn’t anyone else to compete with. Clearly, he’d already won them and had wandered off. And whenever there was a competition or whatnot, there’s always a prize for the winner. After all, what was the point of winning if one didn’t get anything from it? Oh, maybe a sense of satisfaction, but he wasn’t the sort to want just that. How did she know? Hmm.. he must have told her that as well. Why, they must be such good friends! She must have known him for YEARS. A shame she didn’t remember him. Ah well, he had to be on his way. She gave him a polite excuse. “You’ll want to pick up your prize.”

No. came a little voice from deep within his mind. Don't think about it, don't ask, just proceed with walking away. Walk away now. Right now. But he didn't walk away and the little voice continued to ramble softly, instinctually knowing it was being ignored, No, no, please no, don't do it. Please don't talk, please don't ask question, please walk away now. But don't talk, don't talk, oh please don't talk.... ignoring the desperate pleas of his remaining brain cells, Davros wrinkled his nose and replied, "What on earth are you talking about? What prize?"

"Your prize for winning, of course," she said, confused, once again. This stranger certainly had a way of running over the obvious. "Every game has a prize."

With a deep sigh that seemed to shake his very core, Davros answered very quietly, "I sincerely doubt that there are any winners in this particular game, I do not even know what type of game you have been playing this whole time..." he trailed off and shook his head. "However," he continued a little stronger and with uncertain exasperation, "I am also quite certain that if a game has been played here I am unequivocally Not the winner."

"You're not? But you said you were!" Mariposa protested, frowning a bit. Why would he lie to her? Never mind that he hadn't actually said in so many words.

Frowning and feeling the effects of an ongoing headache that he hadn't realized he'd had until just then, the mighty Davros muttered, "Didn't you have butterflies to chase or...something."

"Oh! You like butterflies too? I love butterflies!" she chirped, happily. Butterflies were so much fun to watch. The way they flitted from place to place, and how pretty they were when they got there.... er... where were they going again? Oh... right... she was talking to the large stallion... who liked butterflies....
