She was the chatty type, it seemed, which was surprising given how timid she always behaved. Finn listened to her with only partial interest to what she was saying, though she did pique his curiosity just slightly with some of her words. "Oh? Is that so, darling?" He turned his head to smirk at her, "So you like bad boys, do you?" Why did she make it so easy to tease her? He supposed that in itself was worth helping her out, just to see her get flustered over and over again.

Well, until he got bored of her, at least.

Continuing to follow her direction, Finn gave a small shake of his head. "It's a blind date. I'm not going to ruin the surprise by telling you who it is before hand! It's a small island, sweetheart, and I'm sure that even a hermit like him is a fairly unforgettable sort."

Hoping that was enough to deter her from more questioning, he stopped outside of the office with her, and glanced over towards the furniture that needed to be moved.

Jesus titty ******** Christ. That wardrobe looked heavy, and cumbersome, but mostly heavy. Still, amped up hunter strength, right? Shouldn't really be a problem.

"Sure thing, sweet cheeks." He made his way over to the wardrobe and lifted his end with seemingly little effort, though the muscles in his arms were definitely straining a bit from the weight. The fact that she was willing to put herself on the bottom end almost earned her a few more jokes, but he was opting to save his breath now.

"Lets just get this over with and then we can discuss whether or not you owe me a little extra on the side, darling."

She took after her cousin after all. When Noemi got nervous or was trying not to be nervous, she would rant. She was a ranter. Kind of like Stormy. Just tangents of rants and trying to learn and care about others.

"M...ME?" She squeaked and shook her head, "No...No no no. I mean you are very bad boy like Finn, but...but I don't like bad boys." She wasn't even sure if she could like someone like that. As in liking someone in general. And even if she did, she wasn't sure she could ever make that first move or anything like that. She couldn't even think of first moves.

She made small sounds of distress when they worked in silence until the staircase. "I gu...I guess that makes sense...at...at blind dates. Sill...silly of me to ask."

She huffed as she lifted the wardrobe and tugged it down slowly. "I just...I just have this wardrobe an...and one more thing from another hunter..." She smiled shyly up at him. "sooo...So you can ask for whatever payment plus the blind date as well!"

One second telling him she liked his eye patch and that it made him look like a bad boy, and the next retracting her statement completely. It was quite possible that Finn had misunderstood what she meant the first time. Plausible, in fact, though that didn't make it any less annoying. Or the way she continued on about it like she needed to excuse just about every damn thing she said, when really, if she just shut her mouth to begin with they wouldn't now be discussing how likable his bad boy qualities were.

"Oh, I get it, then. You're much more the bad girl type, then?" A baring of teeth in a smile that was far from friendly should have been enough to let her know he was done talking, but he had a feeling it wouldn't be enough.

And of course, it wasn't, as she continued to talk even while they were carrying a substantially sized, awkward, and fairly solid and heavy piece of furniture down a set of stairs. It had been blissfully silent up until that point, when she had asked him again if he needed anything in payment, and while he could think of a good many things that he would accept from the young woman, he was fairly certain she wouldn't even know what half of those things were.

"I see." He responded, in a tone that wasn't exactly cold, but fairly calm and even.

And then when she smiled up at him, that shy look, so full of innocence, a look that likely charmed many a man into doing whatever she wished, a seemingly harmless look that should have meant absolutely nothing, Finn felt something inside of his head give way.

That was the look she used to give him, back when things were good.

That was the look she gave the new guy, when he'd seen them together that night in the club, so shortly after she had left him.

That ******** whore.

Finn smiled back at Noemi, for all intents and purposes a pleasant look, one that showed nothing of his true feelings. He then hefted the wardrobe up higher, obscuring her from his one eyed view.

"All right not too fas---" He began, before his voice faltered. "N...Noemi?" She was tugging on the wardrobe, and he took a step forward, bending his knee suddenly and dropping his end on one side so that it dipped down enough to be jarring. <********> He swore, fumbling for the edge that his hand had "slipped" off of.

And then he let go of his end entirely.

She made a strangled sound at Finn. "I am...I am not a bad girl!" She only mildly looked horrified at the idea..."I mean...I mean I don't think I am. I'm...scared of everything, and I'm not very strong. B..Bad girls are...are like Miss Cee or something." She was NO WHERE NEAR Cee's level. She worked in silence though down the stairs though, as it seemed Finn wanted to focus and here she was blabbering her mouth because she was always nervous and needed to rant.

And then he smiled at her and she wasn't sure how to feel. She was actually pretty happy, because it always seemed that perhaps Finn was not really the happy type and his smile didn't...feel right. But this one seemed good!

"You smiled." She mentioned as he started lifting the wardrobe. "That's nice...I was...I was worried you'd hate me for asking you to do this..." She laughed nervously.

She hadn't realized that she was tugging at the wardrobe, mostly because she wasn't and his warning was a little too late. She felt the shift of the wardrobe, but with the decline of gravity from the steps going into the basement, and because the mist huntress was fairly small, it rolled forward with enough of a push to send her down the stairs, hitting the bottom with a painful thud. she barely got a chance to move as the wardrobe smashed into her side, the corner smacking into her head and making her see stars and red.

For a moment she just laid off to the side of the bottom of the stairs, the wardrobe askew from the stairway. There was some scrapes on her leg from hitting the stone stairs, small blood trickling from it and she brought her hand up to touch at her head where the corner of the wardrobe hit, pulling back to see the wet red stain of blood.

M...Mel?

Her voice couldn't escape because look at what she had done. She had been too much in a hurry, too much into learning more about Finn. She could barely get up with the room spinning as it was.

It was funny that she chose to mention his smile, considering that it was her smile that led him to his decision. He continued to smile when the wardrobe slid forward enough for him to feel the impact reverberate through it. He continued to smile at the sound her body made as it tumbled down the stairs. His hands made an attempt at grabbing for the wardrobe as it continued its downward momentum down the stairs, leaning towards it, cursing even while he smiled, shouting at the woman to roll out of the way, move, or just do something.

But he hoped she didn't move. He hoped that wardrobe collided with a body that was already broken (unlikely because of their shields, but he could dream). His fingers slid off of wood, unable to retain any grasp on it as it barreled down the stairs with resounding thuds as it jarred against each step on the way down. It was a wonder the thing didn't flip over completely, the way it was going, which might have been even more amusing, had it fallen on top of her rather then into her.

"Noemi?" He called down, giving his voice that tinge of worry, of rising panic as he ran down the steps, eye already catching sight of red hair, and red on the ground.

Blood. Beautiful. She looked much better this way, he thought.

"s**t. ******** s**t! I'm sorry darling. I'm sorry I lost my grip I..." He laid it on thick, even as he regarded her with a cold look. Still alive, of course, still moving and breathing, but injured, that he could see.

"Don't move darling, just stay still." He moved to her side, inching around the wardrobe that obscured much of the path and kneeling at her side. A small crowd was gathering both at the top of the stairs and the bottom, even while Finn pulled out his phone.

"I'll get a medical team down here, to get you to the infirmary, okay? I'm so sorry, darling, but they'll get you patched up, I promise."

It was hard to keep himself from smiling now.

Pod duty had been as uneventful as ever, though it was a nice change of pace from the crazy and with a new stack of magazines from his last days of leave, it was nice to get a few hours of reading time in. He'd gotten through at least one of them now, cover to cover by the time his shift was over and now Milo was heading back to his room before he decided to go get some food.

Though, there was a problem with this plan. In the form of a piece of furniture blocking the way, well kind of the way. Didn't take up the whole area or anything but it could have been something the Sun could have run into - especially since he was checking his phone for messages and twitter. "Aa, dude, everything okay?" He pocketed the phone and took the last few steps downward to see who was there.

Aa. Finn. He got a noticeable glare before Milo went to put on one of those smiles that meant 'I think you're a jackass!' 'Cause well, that whole ditching him in the middle of battle thing. That was that plan until it was swiftly derailed as well when he noticed he was kneeling by someone. And that someone being Noemi.

"Aa, s**t, Noemi-chan ~ you okay?" Finn might have been pushed out of the way at that.

Noemi felt like her head was pouring out blood, though she knew it wasn't true. She had read somewhere the head wounds did bleed a lot, so maybe this was one of those....bleeding a lot head wounds that would take like a couple of stitches and some weapon repair work.

She was just stunned. The pain had been unexpected, and Finn was there helping her, and she was staring at him wondering why he was apologizing when it was clearly her fault for tugging at the wardrobe and then not heeding his warning faster.

She kept her hand pressed to the cut on her head, and managed to get out a small sound of agreement to Finn as to not moving.

And then there was a Milo. Noemi looked up at him, pulling back her hand and pointing at the wardrobe.

"I...I was going too fast." God her head was pounding in the worst sort of way, "I don't...I don't think the medics can get down here..." Because of the wardrobe and it was just a minor injury compared to all the others, she didn't want to bother them. "I..It's okay Finn." She gave him a very weak smile as she tried to stand up, wobbling and using Milo as support. "M..Milo can take me to the infirmary? I..I'm sorry, the wardrobe was so much more...more trouble then I thought." She was apologizing to Finn of course, and she would keep apologizing even if she was the one covered in injuries.

"I...I'll come up with another way to repay you since you helped me." She was really starting to get dizzy now. "J...Just give me a couple of days? I'll be healed up no problem." She squeezed Milo's arm a little harder then she meant to but, it was mostly due to the lack of balanced vertigo. "S...Sorry Finn."

Luckily, hunters had moved the wardrobe now and everyone was free to leave. She started slow steady steps towards the stairs.

God it was amazing. He could have watched her lying there bleeding on the floor all day, though of course, that was impossible. He only got these precious few moments before they were interrupted by concerned bystanders, while his phone was already up and to his ear, requesting medical aid in the basement when suddenly, one of the bystanders approached.

Milo's glare was met with the usual cold and empty stare that Finn graced everybody with, though he did not smile. Smiling would have been too telling, might have given away his little ruse. Even when Milo smiled, Finn did nothing in return, only stepped to the side to reveal the woman who was lying on the floor. They were friends, weren't they? He'd seen them, from time to time, though most recently had been at the tower, before she had fallen, and Finn had moved on, leaving Milo to be slaughtered simply because he was not one that Finn knew well enough to put his own life on the line for.

He stepped back before he could be shoved back, because like hell he was letting this guy touch him, phone still up to his ear while he watched them interact with each other, eye narrowing slightly.

"Well, if you insist, darling." Finn let his phone drop, watching her as she struggled to her feet, a strange sense of glee filling him as she wobbled, at seeing how very weak the fall had made her. "I've let them know that you're on your way." He could have helped, he knew. He was trained in first aid, he knew what precautions to take, what signs to check for. He worked in the infirmary from time to time, always learning new things, especially since well, Fear shields and weapons changed the game quite substantially when it came to medical care.

It was when they were retreating that Finn finally smiled, a motion that might have been spurned by relief, though still cold, always cold. He leveled that smile on Milo before they left, before lifting his phone up high, tapping in a quick message, and hitting send.

He then gave the adorable little couple a cursory hand wave if either of them bothered to look back to where he stood, before he got to work helping the others move the wardrobe, all and all a fairly hefty piece of furniture that somehow managed to go through the ordeal practically unscathed. He would find out where Noemi's room was located, and get it moved in there, because he had said he would, after all. It was only the friendly thing to do.

And for whenever Noemi bothered to check her phone:

There was no suspicion of foul play at all, Milo just took it as an innocent enough looking accident - though, really, who would have put such a small person on that end of the wardrobe going downstairs? Still, it seemed like an honest unfortunate mishap, and his current opinion of Finn simply came from his abandonment at the Tower. Still though, "thanks for trying to help her, brah," he said to the other Hunter as he kept support of Noemi. (Was that even a good idea? Shouldn't she stay on the ground or something?) "I got her."

Soon enough, yes, more people arrived to move the large piece of furniture out of the way - and into her room. Milo remained silent as she said what she needed to with Finn - and added his own little farewell smile - and followed after her as she attempted her way up the stairs. But, being as he was, he couldn't have that now could he. So, he swooped in a little closer, let her get a few steps higher before he simply lifted her up, one arm under her knees and proceeded to carry her bridal style. It was better this way, totally. (Like he wanted to see her fall down the stairs!)

And thusly, proceeded towards the infirmary.

Noemi was barely up the stairs when Milo swooped her up, there was a small squeak, and then held on to the sun hunter.

It was okay.

It'd be okay.

Her phone buzzed and she looked at the text message but it was hard to process.

She frowned and pocketed it again, so Milo didn't see. She wasn't interested in bad boys. She had said that...but it made her wonder...Just how much of a bad boy was Finn?

Enough to hurt and play it off? She banished the thought immediately. Ashamed. Finn had been nice. Finn had helped her. Everything was an accident. It was okay.

She rested her head on Milo's shoulder till the infirmary. Then it being helped from there.
