Raemos followed her out into the garden. It was a nice garden - decent loamy soil was still sort of a new thing for Raemos. A new thing in a good way. He took the time to admire the plants. "This is a lovely garden, miss Sueno..." he commented, noting the fence. That wasn't so lovely - she'd probably made it herself, though, so he declined to comment. He looked the rock up and down. It wasn't so big - he was used to rocks. The desert had plenty of them. That, and sand. Not much else, though. "Of course I will help you expand it." he hopped the fence and set to shifting the rock, moving it gently to gauge its weight and loosen it up for easier carrying. Raemos knew his beasts - he had an old edition of The Fauna of Magesc that he had nearly loved the binding off of. "Those are all... very big..." he said, stunned. They were also incredibly dangerous predators all, with the exception of Hastar, which were not always too bad. "With very different, ah, needs... Right?" she knew more than he did. Or, at least, he hoped so if she was thinking about raising those... creatures. "I agree. You should definitely keep them far away from your other animals... Though can they be penned together?" who would probably, and quite reasonably, panic if they got near them. Sheron certainly would. Or get eaten. "How would you keep them from escaping?" He had decided to be encouraging, even though inside he was incredulously shaking his head at the slip of a girl who wanted to raise monsters. It was a little heavier than expected, and would have been awkward to carry, and shoving it in the soil (ahhh, the smell of wet soil) would have only made a mess. He was totally not showing off when he sat back, whispered the spell words, and, with some effort, levitated the stone several feet away. "Good?" he asked, setting it down by a tree and wiping his forehead.

She pulled on her gloves to start the weeding; it was almost summer, which meant there was always weeding to be done. She thought he was cheating by using magic; Ainsley hadn't! But it was useful that he didn't gouge the soil as he moved it... And if she could somehow find a way to get a spell like that she could move it on her own. She liked that rock: it was a nice boulder that added flair to her garden. Even if it was too large and kept having to be moved when she expanded. Though, she had to admit, it was always nice having some task to ask strong boys to do for her... "Thank ye and there's good." She said as she tossed out the small invading weeds. "Ah know that they'll all have special needs and stuff. But I'll start with one type then slowly add others in. That way they get used to havin' strange fellow predators about. Gonna have each type their own stall or pen of course. At night those that aren't trained will be kept in a barn like the herd animals. Ye can't let un-trained critters about the place. Ye got any advice or information on the Notbjaovin? Or know how to make a fence?" Notbjaovin's were apparently dark creatures: which meant they'd be perfect night time guards as far as she was concerned! And she did need that fence fixed. Any Sheron could knock it down to get at her young plants!

robot kitten Its especially funny to me because Sueno is the mascot monster of Monster Rancher... Raemos was somewhat fascinated by the weeding. Obviously, he knew what weeding was, and he'd watched his mother weed their small garden in the back of the cottage, but he'd never weeded before. And the weeds his mother pulled out weren't the vibrant ones that the girl was pulling - they had been hardy, but sun-battered, struggling to hold on as much as any other plant in the desert. Who could blame them for invading the garden? "You certainly can't." he said, starting on the fence - it truly was a mess, and with her implied permission, he was going to work on it. "Let untamed creatures about the place. Especially if they're predators." He sized it up and, finding a workshed, scrounged up a hammer and some nails and some extra wood. He'd ask for more, but the conversation was just getting good. Besides, this was, currently, a small fence, and what he had would do fine. He held the nails in his teeth as he lifted and placed the wood that had fallen down - best to deal with that first. On this wet ground, it would rot. "I don't know much about Notbjaovin..." he said, through the nails, "Aside from their preference for darkness and rareness" thank Seren "On Serenia." He hammered in a nail, holding the piece of broken fence until he could get the other nail in, "What do you know about Notbjaovin?" He asked, checking his work, and the work around it. Oh yes. It was starting to look like he'd have to take some of this apart and re-work it. He wondered if she had made the fence herself? He decided not to ask. "And... if I may ask... how will you go about acquiring the animals, Miss Sueno?"

"They're fuzzy and cute." Sueno siad with a small smile. "Deadly cute but Ah like em! Saw one a while back." Of course she'd been following it and it'd turned around and tried to hunt her, but no need to say that. "Hmm. Gotta catch em somehow. Traps and snares that won't hurt them. Going face to face will just get me hurt and that's a stupid idea." Plus she didn't know anything about fighting them! "Ah gotta friend who promised to take me with him when he goes hunting next time." Hopefully Karayan would keep that promise... though the dragon attack had certainly pushed that plan back a ways... She hadn't seen her brother's friend since then...

Fuzzy and deadly cute... Raemos had nothing to say to that. Clearly this little girl was a bit crazy. If she pulled it off, though, then there would be something to it - people bought the most interesting things, and pets - dangerous, protective pets - were well sought after. "Nets. Ropes. Luring them into a cage with food." he said, listing off some options in time with his hammering, "Since you have to mainly get them close without attacking or fleeing, correct?" when they brought in the kargoth and kugel for training, that was what they did - ropes and bribery. More bribery for the kugel than for the kargoth, but even for the large mammoths bribery had its place. He took out another section of fence and began to redo it using the newer lumber. "If you plan on going out soon, and this friend is not available, you should ask Cearlan or myself. We would be happy to accompany and assist you..." And protect you, you crazy child"We are, after all at your service." he began to hammer in that next section of board, holding it carefully. He doubted she would want him to assist her, being a scary eyeless monster, but surely Cearlan would. He hoped he would.

Sueno finished weeding and went back to gather up the pulled plants to toss on the compost pile. "Nets are okay, but they're harder to hide. Least that's what Ah've heard. And yeah, no attacking. That makes the animal too wary. Ah want to make sure that Ah go out hunting with other hunters, get tips and learn from them. Better than going alone and making mistakes and hurting myself or animals." She wrinkled when he said to go hunting with him or Cearlian. "Not going with that Cearlean. Ah dinna trust him. He's sketchy." To pretty is what she thought. Got a players look to him, so it's best to avoid him. He was a Guardian and she only a young girl, but you couldn't be too safe! Besides what would a fighter know about catching things? Ad everyone knew that men that beautiful were dangerous! So that left her with Raemos... which was... just as bad but in a different way. But.. she had a sudden thought. There are those Olrawks.. the birds that sang to warn of Oblivionites! Or something like that. She'd seen them before but never heard them sing.. maybe it'd sing if she had Raemos along....

Raemos raised an eyebrow. Sketchy? Not the word he would have used. 'Player', maybe, and a bit selfish, maybe slightly frivolous but... Rae still liked him all the same. Seren knew why. "Ah." he said, pretending he wasn't slightly nervous at the prospect of being asked to accompany the girl. After all, it had not been long before that she had been afraid of him. What would others say? What would others think? "As for the nets, if you ambush and cast them over the creature, it doesn't need to be hidden..." he said, keeping his anxiety inside. "And then, I suppose, you speak calmly and gently to them? That is what we did when we needed to calm a kargoth on our ranch, actually..." he said, remembering, "Restrain them, talk soothingly, and offer food... I suppose it is the same thing for other animals..." he tested the new fence. Yes. Good. Much stronger.

DraconicFeline Wrapping this one up since we've got tamings~ Sueno thought about it. No.... That way wouldn't be food for what she wanted. "Iffn Ah do that, they animal will know Ah'm the source of the cage. Ye have to do it from a distance so that they dinna associate you with cage or capture. Not iffn ye want them to trust you. Not a wild one anyways." Ones already caught and on a farm, yeah that was fine. "Thanks fer fixing the fence." She said as she went back to her garden.

"Mmm... From a distance." he agreed. That made sense. He stood, leaning against the fence assessingly before he hopped back over and bowed. "It was my pleasure." he said, smiling. Now that she wasn't afraid of him, he could see things going well on this mission. He could see himself being useful. This might not be bad, given time. "I'll be right here if you need me." he said, leaning against the fence and preparing to keep watch.
