HP: 13.25/41 Powering Up for next turn
When the lighting struck her Zuri froze. She couldn't move, and it was startling to her. She had never felt this much magic coursing through her veins. She knew that her husband was capable of it, but it had never been turned on her before so she had never felt it.
When she could finally move she shook her head to make him know she was okay. She mentally had to get ready, she was losing this fight and she didn't like it.
"What makes me think they would want to know more about themselves? Why wouldn't they? I did." she said as she moved away, she didn't want another hit like that. She wouldn't be able to take it.

Biroki felt relieved to see her as unharmed as she was.
Still, he was pleased with his successes. He was doing well... for once. He wasn't a failure. He wasn't a wimp. Not anymore!
Ha! See! he wanted to shout... but he was too busy trying to wrap his mind around her bombshell. "Why?" he asked, taking advantage of her incapcitation to cast a powerful healing spell on himself.
The magic coursed through his body like a breathe of fresh air, closing the gaping wounds as it pulsed through bone and flesh and sinew.
"I understand why you did..." sort of... "But them? We have everything we need here." they even had a Mammu! And a Raoti! Surely that was enough of Zena to satisfy the girl's curiosity. "I don't understand why you have to go all the way to Z-zena when stories will suffice..." He paced around her cautiously, wary of tricks.
Honestly, he had no desire to leave Jahuar. He may have before, but now... there was just so much in his jungle home. There were new and beautiful things appearing before him every day - every moment. It was his home - his precious homeland.
He didn't know why he was so pissed about the idea of this trip, though. He just didn't like it. Plain and simple.

Although she was sure at this point she wasn't going to win this fight, she wasn't going to give up. She couldn't heal like he could, and honestly it was something she would have liked to know. She could do ice magic, but it wasn't enough to really do any damage. She needed to work on it more.
"I had everything I needed there. A family, a home. Just like they do. That doesn't mean I didn't wonder enough to leave. My father told me stories as well, but they weren't enough." why was this so hard for him to understand? Maybe because he never had to wonder about his heritage, it was always laid out for him. Sure his parents were dead, or so he thought, but he knew about his people, about who he was.
She didn't know that, and neither did the girls. They knew half of who they were, well one forth really. She moved to attack him again. This wasn't over.

Her attack startled him and he tried to leap out of the way. Instead, the spear blade dug into his arm, striking deeply. He didn't want to know how deeply. "Augh!" he cried out, his nerves enervated and made more sensitive by the surge of healing magic he had just sent through them, "D-damn...". He could feel pain, warmth - too much warmth - and wetness slide softly down his arm.
And then he began to feel numb. Poison he thought, backing away, wary and desperate now. She had poisoned him. He knew he had to end this quickly, before he succumbed to her envenomed spear, or to his wounds. Hitting hard and fast seemed to work... if he could only get his hand back up.
He moved to a safe range, trying to regain control of the muscles of his hand. Deep wounds sometimes effected that. "Your father died." he said bluntly, "did you really have a home?" he regretted it as soon as he said it, but had she not left Zena soon after her father's death? Alek and Kayin - sure. He could see and accept them as her family. Because they were.
But if you were so quick to leave it, was it actually home?

Yes! She was doing it. At first she thought she didn't have a chance, that for the first time she was going to lose to her husband, but now it seems the tables were turning. She was so excited that she didn't even think about the pain that she was causing him. Than again he could heal himself up, he had done it earlier, so she wasn't all that worried for him. In a way that was one of the best things about being with him, he could heal any injures there were. It also came in handy with the girls.
As he moved to get away from her she moved to get closer to him, however as the words bounced out of his mouth she froze. How dare he! It seemed more and more that this wasn't the husband she married. "I had a home, a home were I grew up, a home that my siblings still live in. I left to find out more about myself, not because my father died. I would have left regardless. I didn't plan on staying here." and she didn't. She had all intentions of returning to Zena when she left.

Failed to dodge the Trip
Biroki tried to dodge as she came after him - he'd been expecting that - of course. What else could she do. The trip, too, was not unexpected either. It was either that or being attacked with the spear from a distance - Either, he supposed.
So, when he'd moved away, he'd been ready to dodge, or so he'd thought. His legs moved slower than he had intended, as if encased in thick syrup. As his legs were swept out from under him, he realized that she must have upgraded the poison she used with her spear. Clever. But that was his wife - clever and unpredictable.
Her words hit him like a blow s he fell to the ground, his hands reaching out frantically to catch his fall, his staff skittering on the ground...

His breathing was heavy, his eyes defiant as he stubbornly healed his wounds with a minor healing spell. He regretted his words as he had said them, but not their meaning. Not after what she had said in response.
"You... didn't plan on staying." he said, slightly breathless, "So. You weren't going to stay here. You weren't going to stay there..." He set his arms beside him and began to push away from the ground. He knew he was likely to lose the match - badly, and likely painfully - but that didn't matter. "So... what? You were going to stay nowhere?" he growled, starting to get his footing back, "And just wander forever?"

She was winning, finally. She was so sure she would lose when things started, and now she felt she could win. However she couldn't get cocky, she had to stay focused. Than he healed himself, again. That was annoying. She personally hoped he would run out of healing power, or however that worked. She could only do ice magic, so maybe he had different stores for different kinds of magic?
She went towards him with her spear, angry as all get out. "I had planned on going back there you idiot." she growled back. Where did he get what he was saying from? It was not what she was saying at all. It was like he wasn't even listening to her, like he didn't listen to her all these years. These were things she had said before.

He didn't feel its sharpness at first - only awe at the raging warrior woman before him. She was at her most beautiful now, angry and flushed with the heat of battle, her muscles straining to give her spear force. She was truly beautiful in the soft dusk of Jahuar, even as he knew that she would hurt him.
He gasped, his hand travelling to the wound as he felt his lung collapsed in an unnerving way. He couldn't get enough air, even when he covered the wound with his hand and pressed down.
He grabbed the spear with his other hand, his knuckles stretched and pale with exertion. "So you say." he coughed out, his voice barely a whisper as he struggled to keep air flowing properly in his body, "I just can't believe you." he said, shoving energy out of his body.
Lightning, shimmering and crackling, sparked at his fingertips. The sparks blazed hot - almost too hot. He felt his fingers nearly scorch before, without warning, the crackling ball of lightning raced along the shaft of the spear at Zuri!

HP: 13.25/41 Trying to dodge 8 (+6) = 14, full dmg Zuri forfeits It was done, when the lighting hit her she knew that it was done. She lost. She was doing so good, but in the end she was right. She lost. Falling to the ground his words stung more than the lightning.
However she stood up and walked away, not even bothering to answer her husband. She was hurt, and bad, but there was no way she was going to let Biroki heal her. She was going to find someone else to do it. She wouldn't be coming home that night, that was for sure.

Biroki slumped back and watched her go, his vision slightly hazed from his injuries. He wanted to go after her, maybe get her to explain what she had meant, maybe explain what he had meant, maybe something else entirely. He wanted to heal her wounds and tell her that he didn't want her to go, that her place was here, in Ast, with him.
But he was too injured and just didn't have the energy to go after her. He pressed his hand to his chest wound and sent healing magic into it, hissing in pain as it stabilized and healed him. He pulled himself over to a tree and lay against it, focusing on healing himself, and trying - very hard - not to think about the rest of it.a pet dino Want to bring this into a RP with Zuri, the Twins, and maybe Reshel?
