Arian hadn't been to the previous training session, but he'd heard about it (well make it his powered alter-ego had heard about it) via the senshi grapevine.

He'd been running late and there were already others around by the time he finally reached the building where the event was being held, even so however he still had a few minutes to go before the advertised 10am start, although that may have had something to do with him taking the bus rather than the walking he'd planned to do. Still at least he was in t-shirt and track suit bottoms and his long hair braided.

Everyone seemed to in the waiting area so Arian headed there to, glancing around to see if there was anywhere where he should be signing up.

Spotting a tall purple-haired woman (Keren) with a clipboard he headed in her direction. "Excuse me Miss" he said quietly and hoped he wasn't interrupting. "Is this where the Laser Tag exercise is being held?" Okay so the details he had said 'yes', but it couldn't hurt to make sure.

------------------------------------------------------------

Liryn had also heard something on the grapevine on there being some sort of event taking place where cats were needed and had decided to check it out.

It had been a little confusing when he'd finally reached the building seeing just civilians about, until he remembered hearing that people were going to be powered down - like they'd been at that Christmas party in the partk that he and Jae aka Sailor Mizar had gone to last year.

He had just decided to pad in when he spotted a fluffy white cat enter the building (Snowball) - a familiar white cat albeit one whose name he still didn't know - although maybe that was something he could rectify today.

He entered the building in time to see the white cat head over towards a white-grey haired woman and decided to pad in that direction himself. Given that the fluffy white cat and the woman seemed to be talking, Liryn figured that he didn't have to play cat so instead said brightly "I heard that you were looking for cats today, was there anywhere in particular that you wanted us?"

Well, at least everyone was punctual! Keren dealt with Paris first, rolling her eyes at the ridiculous nickname - why had she even bothered asking last time? All it had done was start this dumb joke. "Yes, okay," she said, waving the couple in. She doubted an experienced senshi would do something ridiculous like bring a Negaverser right into their midst, but they really needed to figure out how to properly verify people.

To Chris, she interrupted, "Does Sir Jove #1 have a last name? Or should I just put it down same as hers?" She had the sign-up sheet from last time on her clipboard, and what Chris had started to say certainly sounded a whole lot like what Paris had put down at the previous month's meeting.

There was no sign of the cat who was supposed to be checking Henshin pens at the door, and Keren sighed through her teeth. Ash, wherever she was, hadn't been essential last time and she didn't expect her to be essential this time, either. If the guest list had been kept exclusive, they wouldn't have a problem.

Keren waved to Maggie as the younger girl hurried over, joining the crowd that seemed to be forming in her general vicinity. All the repeat offenders were easy - she just had to check them off her list. "You three are all set," she said. "You can go ahead in." She wanted them to go ahead in - otherwise, things were going to get crowded, and fast, and then she wouldn't be able to keep track of who was here!

And that was just not conducive to doing her job properly.

The blonde who approached her next certainly looked to be the oldest person here, so Keren thought it was kind of awkward that Alexis was calling her miss. "Keren's fine," she said, handing over her clipboard and pen. "Just fill out your name, email, phone number, and your powered identity if you're comfortable giving it, and then head on in. We're starting soon."

None of that Justice League of America Codename tomfoolery this time. It just caused problems.

Once she got her clipboard back from Alexis, Keren turned her attention to Alex. Eying the cast on the girl's arm, she nodded in agreement. "Yeah, better if you sit this one out," she said, handing over the clipboad. "Just put down your name and contact information, so we can keep you in the loop about the next get-together."

Spotting Mary slipping past her (It wasn't hard, the girl was dressed completely inappropriately for today's exercise), Keren turned and shouted over her shoulder, "Hey! Come back here and sign in!" God, she thought, White tights? At a laser tag arena? People did weird s**t in the name of fashion. And while there was something to be said for fandom pride, that backpack looked like a dead muppet.

Well, she thought, at least Luca had some brains in her. Keren beamed at the redhead, and once she had her clipboard back, checked her off the list. "You're all set," she said. "Head on in and we'll get started in a bit." There were a lot of new faces, which was time-consuming, but also great.

Delilah's arrival was also welcome, because it meant one more person who Keren just had to check off the list. "Fundamental Skills Training!" she crowed, without explaining what that actually meant - that was likely better left up to Kaatje. "Come on in. It'll be fun."

Finally, Keren turned her attention on Arian. "Please," she said, holding the clipboard out to him. "Call me Keren. I just need your name and contact information and then you're all set. And yep! This is Order Boot Camp. Come on in."

Quenton had hard considered not going to the grapevine training session. It was lucky enough that he remembered the date and time, let alone got moving to get to it. Regardless, a few bus trips and some walking got him to the place. There were already more than a couple present and mingling. Faces of a crowd he didn't parse. His expression did not change from a statue-neutral.

He approached the group, not troubling to try for any attention. There were many young, with a great deal of energy. There were cats. Let them be, let them talk. Form relationships. Bonds. I am no good casual company, so there was no point in pretending it to be so.

It looked like there was a person with a clipboard, the universal symbol of Business, and everyone gravitated to her at least in some manner. He heard her identify her name and confirm the place and activity. It was just a matter of waiting the line and appropriate turn then.

Horatio was currently practicing her skills for the upcoming laser tag. She had never played laser tag herself, but she had seen tv shows and movies where others played it, and the two kids she lived with were always begging their Mom to take them to the arcade to play it so it had to be just as super fun as it looked, right? Game + meeting new winner friends = best place ever. Only thing that would make it better was if there was a pizza party at the end. ... and the pizza had salmon.

But salmon pizza, while delicious, had no bearing on how she decided to make her grand entrance. Rather than use the front door, because that was entirely too easy, she had snuck her way in through a window and was dashing from shadow to shadow to try and remain hidden as long as possible. Sort of like a game of hot lava, but with more sprinting and pausing dramatically to see whether or not she had been spotted. So far, it was going pretty well! And then she saw the check in line and realized she had to go over there too. "Awwww, maaaan."

Lines were boring, but at least they were good places to chat with people and get pumped up for the activities! She spotted some people she knew, most notably, Chris and Paris, and there would be SO MUCH excited chattering and cuddling for them, but also a whole lot she didn't. New friends! The gregarious Mauvian was immediately drawn towards a white-haired fellow (Quenton) who looked a little less excited to be there than some of the others. Maybe he was just feeling overwhelmed and needed a friendly face. Horatio to the rescue! She planted herself firmly at his feet and mewled up at him, "Hi! You look grumpy. You want to have a pre-game game with me or some cuddles to make it better?"

She couldn't help it, really she couldn't. Round silver face scrunching up in mirth, she watched the woman on the screen glance about her and took delight in the fact there was nothing to be see.

"I'm in ur base, hackin' ur computers!" She hummed into the phone, unable to stop from breaking down into giggles at the end. "No, no, I'm sorry... I'm in the security office actually. Look uuupppp and to the leeeeeefft... Wave for the camera!" The guardian directed Kaatje's attention to the security camera up on the wall, all but hidden in the shadows of the ceiling. Staring wide eyed at the screen, Ash waved as though the girl could see her, unable to help giggling again. Ah, this was so much fun!

"I got here a little early and was just taking a bit of a meander, poking my nose into things, normal cat stuff... when I noticed the surveillance system. Well! That got me thinking that perhaps we didn't really want them taping our little party, so I found my way into the back room. I've actually got a little something I'm going to let loose in a moment that will put this old girl to sleep for a bit... send an error that'll stop it from recording until we're finished." The silver guardian preened on her computer chair, feeling quite proud of herself. "I just wanted to let you know that I had things handled here and give you my location if you needed anything.... OH MY GOSH!"

The last part came out in something of a girlish squeal as the excited cat bounced up from her seat and shoved her face at the camera feeds. "Quenton! Hellooooo darling!" She chirped at it, conveniently forgetting that the only person who could hear her right now was a probably bemused Kaatje...

"Ohohoh and Liyrn! I see you! Oh my, you are going to have quite a gathering here, darling!" Ash said to the girl on the phone, her tail flicking excitedly back and forth. "Is there anything else you can think I might need to do in here before I come out and do a little networking?"

"One second, I'm on the phone," said Kaatje to Luca, but she smiled to take the sting out of the words. "We'll be warming up at ten, same as last time."

Oh… the security. Kaatje had tried to have it turned off, but only succeeded in getting the surveillance for the laser arena's 'depths'--whatever those were--turned off. Did they think she wanted to have a sex orgy in there, or something? That'd be ******** weird. And Kaatje, she might like weird s**t, but… sex in a laser tag arena… was not the weird s**t she liked. She should've thought about Ash, she considered, rather than paying the heightened fee…

Well, next time. She waved to the computer, a tok-tok that managed to look both unimpressed and friendly at the same time. "We'll just need you down here once--oh my ********, volume please!" Whoever she'd seen--Quenton?--was certainly here, but Kaatje had no more chance of spotting a Quenton than she did of spotting… anyone else, to be honest. She narrowed her eyes at the group and tried to make a guess, but without any clues, it was pointless. "I don't think so. C'mon out whenever you're ready. Do you want to operate the lights in the arena?" Like, Anabel was supposed to, but Anabel did not like… stairs. Ash would be a better pick.

Bluefire Dragonz

Anabel puffed out her cheeks, puzzled by a reference to a senshi's knights. Did she belong to a senshi? She sure didn't feel like it. If there was a Sailor Mercury, Finn had never mentioned her and neither had Europa, so, like, probably it was a thing. She reached over and gently scratched the white cat behind the ears. It was odd to be speaking with a cat, but she'd sort of considered for a long time that animals would be cooler if they could just tell her what the wanted rather than barking. Dogs. Maybe cats were cooler. Maybe they could all talk--

She huffed out a sigh. No, that would be just too convenient.

Another cat joined them, this one small and gray. "In the arena, probably," said Anabel. "Kaat says you can participate in the first couple rounds, but after that she needs you to block signatures for the part where everyone's powered. I'm Anabel, by the way. Who're you?"

Elke slid rather bonelessly out of Finn's Jeep, and zipped up her hoodie to ward off the morning chill. She wasn't sure why, exactly, Finn had invited her along; she was a senshi with years of experience, more years than most gathered here, and something called 'fundamental skills training' did not exactly appeal. Still, he was her friend, and he'd lost someone recently, and she wouldn't allow him to be alone through that if he asked for her company…

She sighed and flipped up her hood, following him into the building. In the lobby, there were… a few people she recognized. The tall violet-haired girl (Keren) was a Surrounding survivor. She'd been a little b***h, and Elke tried not to feel bitter about it, but such was hard… and there was… "Mary," Elke blurted, unable (or just unwilling) to believe that Bifrost Squire was here. In civilian form, but here!

With a look at Finn that apologized for what she was doing, Elke let go of his hand and nudged her way through the group after the Squire of Chronos. "Mary, how have you been? It's been so long, I didn't think I'd ever find you again!"

There was.
A cat.

Quenton looked down at the meow-source, bangs curtaining around his face and glasses as he looked down at the whiskers upturned. It was like the hands of a clock turning for the words to register, one in particular.

Cuddles? Games? In a way it could be so, though this was about training, I thought. Everyone here must be powered, for the Mauvians to be so free about talking. It should be nerve-wracking to have this name and face associated with a magic-borne war. Should be.

"Unless it is a game played still in line, it would make getting signed in longer." He slowly shifted down to a crouch, offering thigh, arm, and finally shoulder for getting up to perching if the Mauvian liked. This one looked small. Did Mauvians come in kitten sizes, like that little girl that had bogglingly been a senshi?

"I'm Quenton. You are?"

Finn had offered Tallulah and Nick a ride, but one look on his face and the way his arm was draped protectively around Elke's shoulder had said they'd better give them some privacy. Tallulah didn't exactly know what was going on there, but Finn had been through a lot lately and she wanted to let him cope in whatever way he felt best. "Come on, it's an easy bus ride," she said to Nick, and they were out the door.

Tallulah loved laser tag. Not to, like, a fanatical degree or anything like that, but she did consider herself rather good at it and had dressed the part, in dark leggings and a dark hoodie and dark sneakers. She'd even gone out and bought a pack of black athletic socks for the occasion, and then coached Nick on how he ought to dress. Tallulah would be damned if she was going to let her boyfriend make any rookie mistakes!

On arrival, she gave Kaatje a quick wave - she looked like she was busy - and signed them both in with Keren, who she knew from running into her around the building a few times and she was pretty sure constituted a labor law violation on Kaatje's part, except for the part where she was also pretty sure that Keren just volunteered for most of the things she did.

Which was, like, weird, but some people were in places in their lives where they could work for free.

"Do you want to meet some of my friends?" Tallulah asked Nick, scanning the lobby. She spotted Paris and Chris almost immediately, because it was hard to miss a tiny blonde standing net to a giant. She tried not to drag him over.

"Paris! Chris! Hey!" she called. "It's good to see you." She gestured to Nick, like she was presenting him in his societal debut. "This is my fiance, Nick." Saying fiance still sent a neat little thrill through her stomach. "Super Sailor Oenone of Bells," she added.

Finn had asked Elke to come because he thought that getting back into the more social aspects of super-powered crime fighting might do her good, and he was rewarded within moments of their arrival when Elke spotted someone she knew and was thrilled to see. He gave their contact info to Keren, not wanting to distract Elke from her reunion with her friend, and then hung back, watching to make sure she continued to be okay.

The silver cat squirmed as she stared at the screens, watching the people gathering for other familiar faces she knew.

"Oh, sorry dear! Got a little excited there. I would love to work the lights! I'll be right down." With a flick of a paw, she snapped her phone shut and then hit the enter button on the keyboard. The lines of code began to scroll and the computer hummed as it kicked to life, gobbling up the commands she was feeding it. No one would know the computer had been tampered with, the error it was going to throw looked entirely innocent. And with how old it was, one had to assume a computer like this would flub up from time to time. (she also highly suspected they didn't take very good care of it, so)

Jumping from the chair, Ash darted across the room and leaped for the doorknob, making quick work of unlatching it and swinging it open. Bright light from the hallway flooded the dark room, reducing Ash's pupils to slits, but she adapted quickly as she bounced out of the room and down the hallway. Now that the cameras weren't running, she didn't have to hide and that made it so much easier and faster to make her way to the main area where the senshi and knights were gathering.

"I'm here!" She chirped as she broke out of the service hallway, slowing down to a self-satisfied trot with slender tail curled above her back. Now to find Gunn, the young woman she'd seen on the screen... and maybe a few of her friends, along with hopefully a bunch of new ones. Like with any gathering, the silver guardian was looking forward to adding to her contacts. They were so very useful.

Mary blinked, hearing the familiar voice and turned to see Soldier Virgo, or rather Elke. Her face lit up and she smiled widely at the other young woman before gently hugging her and nuzzling her cheek in greeting.

"Elke! I've been alright, dealing with some family issues lately and a bunch of knight business. And I'm a squire now! But you might already know that, hehe!" she beamed at her before giving her signature shoulder wiggle and tucking her hands behind her back.

"How have you been? I haven't heard much from the Zodiac besides seeing some of the Chronos knights since our last little get together. Doing alright? Holding up well?" she glanced at Finn and smiled at him and gave him a little wave. "A new love interest perhaps?" She clearly, clearly meant Finn, with the way she was eyeing him, but she was mostly just joking around. It was wonderful to see one of the Zodiac again after so long; it was a real shame they seemed to disconnected.

Paris responded to both Chris and Keren's unimpressed looks with a flippant wave of her hand, sliding easily passed the tall girl as she pulled her husband further into the waiting area. Her smile was both friendly and indulgent when Maggie approached. A part of her thought Maggie should seem more annoying to her than she did, given how young and naïve Maggie's behavior made her appear, but for the most part Paris could only appreciate her chipper and juvenile attitude. Paris had lost a bit of that over the years; it was nice to see a teenage girl still acting like a teenage girl. Made things feel a little more normal.

“He graduates from DCU on Mother's Day,” she said in answer to Maggie's question. The little look she gave Chris at this announcement was obviously (and sickeningly) adoring. “Then it's to the Major League Baseball draft in June.”

She leaned up to press a big wet kiss to Chris's cheek, one slim hand rising to pet at his hair.

Terribly, disgustingly in love.

Tallulah's arrival with a tall, dark-haired young man brought forth another welcoming smile, as well as a mild sense of concern. Paris couldn't pretend to be completely down with the Avalon induced engagement, but over three years had taught her to trust her teammate's judgement enough to where a five-month relationship turned engagement didn't seem like too horrible of an idea.

“Tallulah!” her voice was all excitement. She took a moment to scrutinize Nick closely even as she beamed brightly at him. “It's nice to meet you! I'm Paris, obviously. Ganymede, in case you've heard about me by that name. According to Kaatje Tallulah has the habit of raving about me,” she joked. In reality she was unaware if any previous remarks between the two could be consider raving or not. “This is my husband Chris. And Maggie. We were partners last boot camp. Maggie, this is Tallulah, one of my teammates. She's been at this even longer than I have.”

There were a few people in front of him and the purple-haired woman sorted them out before turning to him. Nodding at her request to call her Keren with a quiet okay, Arian took the offered clipboard and fished out a pen from his backpack before filling it out with his name, mobile and email address. His handwriting wasn't the neatest, but he made sure to print it to make sure the words were legible.

That done he hesitated for a moment, he'd heard Keren mention powered identity as one of the things to add, albeit with the caveat that it was an optional thing rather than a necessary thing and he absently sucked on the end of the pen as he debated whether he really wanted to have his powered identity and civilian identity down on paper and in the same place. In the end he decided against it and handed the clipboard back towards Keren with a quiet "Here you go", after all it was something he could at some future stage - well at least he could if he came to more than the one of these things.

With his contact info given Arian moved to shift out of line, not wanting to hold anyone else from signing up. There was a man with ash blond hair (Quenton) in line behind him talking to a cream-coloured guardian cat with candy-like goggles and a tail flag and he for a moment he stopped and gave both a slight if friendly smile. To the blond he said "I hope I didn't take too long" as he took the opportunity to drop the pen back in his rucksack, after all he'd spent what felt like a fair deal of time as he dithered over whether to stick down his powered name along with his contact information. And to the guardian cat he said "Hi Horatio, it's been a while. I hope you're doing okay" Since the two of them seemed to be in conversation, Arian didn't plan to stay beyond his simple greeting - after all he didn't know Horatio as well as his team mate and friend Ida did.

"Nice to meet you Anabel, " Liryn said cheerfully "I'm Liryn and I'll be happy to block energy signatures for you guys." It wasn't something he could do on his own but with the fluffy white cat (Snowball) there he was sure that it was something that the two of them could work together on and he figured that it should be okay given that the grapevine had made it clear everyone here would be part of Order.

The actual number of guardian cats around was actually three or two but Liryn wasn't yet aware that Ash, another guardian cat who he'd met the night after the strange shiny meteors fell, was also around. He also had no idea of who the Kaat person that Anabel mentioned but it didn't stop him from adding "And I'd like to participate in rounds 1 and 2 too." After all the whole arena thing sounded pretty interesting.

Lily walked in and waved to Kaatje and Keren, before turning to her brother. "I do not know how you talked me into the Songbird," he said with a bit of a frown, "do you not remember what happened during paintball."

Lily frowed, "Yes Xander, but that was a freak occurrence and we were also outside. This is laser tag and I've done this for stealth training before with some friends some time ago."

Xander gave her look, but dropped the subject giving a nod to Kaatje before heading over to her. "I'm here to train this time," he said when he got over to her, "but you can count on me to help out with any injuries and keeping an eye out from a medical aspect. Just give a holler if you need a hand."

Lily went over to Keren, to see about signing in, though she found herself waving excitedly Paris, Chris, Arian, and Tallulah just before she made it to Keren. "Are we signing in again today?"

When Paris stretched up to kiss Chris on the cheek, Maggie let out a delighted little trill. "That's awesome!" she said, genuine enthusiasm burbling out of him. "You must be really, really good at baseball." Before she could berate him with more questions, Maggie glanced up at the sight of two people approaching the little clustered group.

It was a boy and a girl -- older than her, definitely -- but otherwise unfamiliar to the teenager. The guy was Nick, per introduction, and he was engaged to the girl with blue hair. And he was a senshi! Information galore. Paris helped her with the next step by supplying the girl's nameMaggie kept smiling, excited to be included in a conversation with a group of mature adult-types like herself. She thought.

Wait -- Tallulah had been at this senshi thing longer than Paris? Maggie's mouth fell open wide. She glanced dramatically between the two of them and then swiveled to Tallulah. "Longer than three years? You must be basically the first senshi ever." In her experience, most senshi were either brand new like her or not really beyond a year or so of experience. She didn't really run into many senshi social circles so each new discovery felt revolutionary.

"I'm Sailor Auriga, Senshi of Pestilence," she said, reaching out a hand to shake both Nick's and Tallulah's. "This is so crazy. I should hang out with other senshi more often -- my dream husband may be just one fuku away."

Another girl with red hair waved to the group. Maggie didn't know her. "Man, you guys know everyone," she said.

Keren had mentioned them moving inside, but Maggie was too wrapped up in her current conversation.

Nick had sort of just wanted to wear pants and a t-shirt and maybe a cardigan, because it was a little chilly, and that wasn't s**t he wanted to deal with on a day when he had to go socialize in large groups. Apparently, though, Kaatje's choice of venue made white or any color not black or navy blue an unacceptable decision, so he'd ended up in… black running pants, a black t-shirt, and a dark green jacket. He felt… kind of stupid. And underdressed. On her way out the door, Kaatje had assured him men's athletic wear is always a crapshoot, but… he was pretty sure it was just that he had to wear so many dark colors, and that wasn't really his style.

The answer to do you want to meet some of my friends was not really, but he was there to socialize and to convince Kaatje he was solid, stable, and capable of going on patrol, so he followed Tallulah willingly to the group she'd indicated.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," he said, looking down at the blonde. Paris. What a lovely name. "I, uh… no, I'm… very new at this… business. Tallulah hasn't really mentioned anything about it." Not even the fact that he'd tried to kill her twice. Wait, she'd said that! Hahaha that was so funny. (No it wasn't. He felt a little ill.) "Let's--uh--" he signed in on Keren's clipboard, smiling at her a little crookedly. They'd tackled re-tiling one of the upstairs showers together, and he thought they were on good terms, mostly. Mostly. "So, uh… three years? That's a long time to be at it."

Elke froze up for half a moment at the hug, but then returned it with the full force of her being. She hadn't even let her mother hug her lately, for fear of the woman seeing just how skin and bones Elke had become--but she'd been eating more, lately, and running less, since Finn seemed constitutionally opposed to running places that could be more conveniently driven to. "I got sent to finishing school in Switzerland," she said, trying not to look ashamed by her critical abandonment of her duties. "It's been a little bit of an adjustment--oh, no, Finn isn't my boyfriend. He's just… looking after me. Because we're friends." That sounded good, right? Like a good explanation. She waved to Finn, tried to smile less awkwardly at him, and then adjusted the sleeves on her hoodie to cover the fine bones of her wrists.

"We should get together and check on the Surrounding someday," she said, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "I haven't had the nerve to go look near the other outposts, to see if it's holding up…"

Kaatje smiled at the cat that emerged from the service hallway. "I think your compatriots are gathering with my friend Anabel, over here," she said, gesturing. "She was going to be tech support, so she'll show you the light board. It's under the snack bar, for the moment."

Her attention pulled towards the redheaded doctor from last time. "Thanks for that, Dr. Jacobs," said Kaatje, clasping her hands behind her back. "I'm about to put weaponry into the hands of the uninitiated and none of them have the fear of God in them, so it's going to be funny. I anticipate at least one black eye and maybe a sprained ankle." She smiled lopsidedly, and pointed out Nick. "He's a resident at Destiny City University Hospital," she said. "You two might get along. But, um, hm. If you want to stay around here, we'll be starting in a few."

"Liryn," repeated Anabel, and she smiled. "That's a sweet name. Kaatje mentioned there were maybe two more cats coming, so if you could just pass it around to them when you see them what they're up to?" She gave Liryn some gentle scritches behind the ears, too, because it was probably important to spread one's affection about between talking animals. "So, you guys work with senshi all the time, right? What's that like? I only know Tallulah--she's Europa, senshi of the Deep. And I sort of know Gunn, but I've never patrolled with her." She smiled a little wistfully: "It must be cool."

She spotted another cat, this one with goggles and a little strip of fabric tied to its tail, talking to a blond boy. Maybe he or she would come over in a minute, but for now she had two very fluffy conversational partners. She wasn't gonna beg for more.
