Esther hadn't thought that her father had a clean slate, but apparently is was dirtier--and more heavily blood-stained--than she had thought. Listening to C.T. talk, Esther's hands eventually slid from her face so that she, curious, could watch the dark-haired Supernatural plan. Obviously C.T.'s hatred for Jacob Bradley matched, and likely exceeded, Esther's own. As the panic subsided again, Esther began to construct a plot of her own. Maybe, just maybe, this would work in her favor. If she played her cards right. Maybe, just maybe, she could get rid of her father, the man who had single-handedly ruined her life and, to an admittedly greater extent, the lives of countless others, and simultaneously get the escape she wanted.

Swallowing her fear, Esther said, "If you don't turn me over to my father, promise me he will be ruined by the end of this, and let me go as soon as it's all done so I can go far away and live the rest of my life in peace... If you vow to me all of these things, I will give you my full cooperation. Anything you need to take down my father, just name it, and it will be yours." Esther realized that C.T. had the advantage here, considering Esther was her hostage and had no means or hope of escaping alive. However, Esther could fight if she had to, whether through physical means or by sacrificing herself to remain silent. She was, compared to C.T. and her gang, weaker in mind and body, but if she knew there was no light at the end of the tunnel and she would be forced to return home or stay here... Esther was confident she could endure anything thrown her way to prevent C.T. from getting what she needed.

Never would C.T had expected the daughter of her greatest enemy to be someone that she would consider working with. However, here she was contemplating making an agreement with a girl so she could help bring Jacob Bradley justice. Honestly, life and it's twist and turns.

"I don't know what your father did too you, and I won't ask." C.T said softly, honestly she didn't feel that it was her business to pry that far into Esther's personal life.

"But if you are truly willing to help me and my people, I have no problem with releasing you after this is all said and done." C.T finished, she locked gazes with Esther trying to read the girls eyes, searching for any signs that would suggest that the girl was lying, she could find none. The girls hatred for her father was genuine, it was like she was one of them. In another world, C.T could have been looking at this girl as an ally and not a hostage. As it was, they could almost be considered partners now.

"We will make this public, later today, in the meantime, I will need to make arrangements for you. We are short on space here and you are human so you won't be safe in your own room. With that in mind, you will be sharing this room with me." C.T said easily

She began to wonder about how all of this would play out, the living arrangements would be easy, C.T had the largest space in the converted factory she and her people lived in. Her room had been an office at some time, but now it was rearranged, fitting a bed, and a couch that never got much use, though she supposed she would be using it as a bed now, since she was sharing a room with Esther. Among other things in her room, was a small table in front of the couch a television that she never plugged in, and wasn't sure if it even worked, and her laptop which she used to keep up with current events. Modest living.

C.T checked the time on her watch 8:30AM, those who had the early shift in the cafeteria should be getting around to serving breakfast at the moment. This was as good a time as any to show Esther how she would be living for a while.

"Are you hungry?"

The idea of rooming with C.T. made Esther a little anxious, but she didn't complain. Although it was all happening in a round-about and less-than-ideal way, Esther was getting what she wanted. She wasn't going to give C.T. a reason to change her mind and back out of the deal. And if C.T. said Esther wouldn't be safe in her own room, then Esther wouldn't be safe in her own room. Something told Esther that she could trust C.T. with her life, at least until this was all over and Jacob Bradley had been adequately dealt with. Only time would tell if C.T. was truly willing to let Esther go once her usefulness ran out.

When C.T. asked if she was hungry, Esther was surprised by the sudden topic change and took a moment to consider. She hook her head. This entire ordeal had left her with a spoiled appetite. Her nerves, though subsiding, were still making her nauseous. Food was the last thing she wanted. But... "I'm a little thirsty," she said. "Could we get something to drink?" Then she paused, and, rubbing her neck awkwardly, clarified, "Something strong?"

C.T let out a small absent chuckle at Esther's request for something "strong" she hadn't coined the girl as someone who was much of a drinker, hell she didn't even believe that the girl was old enough to drink, but C.T just shrugged that off. She wasn't the girl mother, if Esther wanted a drink at 8 in the morning, she could have her drink. She probably needed it.

"Sure, follow me." Connie said easily, before turning her back, and walking out of her room door. Something she would never do, if Esther had been anyone else. Connie did not turn her back too people, especially not enemies or captives, it was a vulnerable feeling, having some one stand behind you, and she absolutely hated that feeling. But it was as if she trusted Esther to not try anything stupid, she knew the girl was smarter than that, and wouldn't but herself in jeopardy, though not that Connie thought she couldn't do some damage, it's just that whatever she did wouldn't be worth it in the long run.

"Stay close" Connie said, the cliche hostile environment warning, but she was completely serious, amongst these caliber of people, it would only take a second for ones life too be ended, and she didn't want "any" mistakes, the closer Esther was too Connie the better.

The walk was rather uneventful, there wasn't much to show the girl, between Connie's room and the cafeteria seeing, as everything on this side of the building was mostly housing, and the showers were rather full at the moment, Connie didn't think Esther wanted to see those at the moment.

They reached the cafeteria easily, and C.T lead them over to the only worker in sight. Mag, a good friend of C.T's yes, but often one C.T tried to avoid, the woman was a bit.....eccentric.

"Connie! Hey!"

C.T sighed quietly as she and Esther reached the counter and Mag leaned forward too greet them happily.

"Oh is this the Hume that Sandy and Tool brought in earlier?" Mag asked excitedly, her wide blue eyes locked on Esther. C.T gave another sigh, before nodding.

"Oh! She's so cute! Connie can we keep her? Ple-"

"Mag."

Mag stopped talking and turned to C.T now, with a tilt of her head."Yea boss?"

"The girl wants a drink. Take her order."

(Sorry for the small delay! It's finals week.)

Esther did as C.T. instructed and kept close to her. She made a mental map of where they were going, of what the hallways and doors looked like, of the people they passed, of everything, as they traveled to the cafeteria. If she was going to be here for a while, she might as well get familiar with the place.

Meeting Mag was an interesting experience. Esther's left brow quirked when Mag called her cute and asked if they could keep her. Like she was a dog. Great. C.T. put Mag on the right track, and now Esther was finally going to get her drink. "Do you have scotch?" she asked Mag.

Mag put a hand on her hip and tapped her chin in thought. "I think so," she said, pursing her lips. "Let me go check." She skipped off to the back room to look for Esther's scotch, and, after watching her in mild amusement, Esther couldn't help glancing to C.T. and thinking, From one extreme to the other. C.T. had quite the cast of characters in her employ. And hell, C.T. might have, so far, been among the most interesting so far. She wanted revenge on Jacob Bradley and appeared willing to do just about anything to get it and likely had experience in getting rid of people in creative ways (or maybe that was just the stereotypes talking), but yet she was willing to let Esther go, with, Esther was hoping, no strings attached, when this was all over. It didn't really add up, and Esther was already devising a back-up plan in case C.T. didn't follow through with her deal.

Mag came back a few minutes later, the bottle in hand, and began pouring Esther a glass. "Thanks," Esther said as she reached for the cup. As she drank, the burn was enough to wake her up and further calm her nerves. "How many people live here, anyway?" she asked, looking around.

C.T was a little surprised at Esther's choice in drink she hadn't expected the girl too be a whiskey type of girl, but then again she hadn't expected the girl to be a drinker either.

It was a bit strange, C.T wondered if she had, been graced with a fairly normal life, would she have been one to enjoy a drink or a party from time to time.
Hm. The grass is always greener.

"What'll be boss? Wanna get a little early morning pick me up?" Mag leaned forward tempting C.T, slap that smirk right off her face, but C.T decided against it, instead she just shook her head. "Coke" Connie said simply and Mag sighed loudly.

"Come on your never any fun." Mag turned to Esther and threw a thumb towards C.T. "Connie here doesn't drink, she thinks she's too good for a little fun." Mag complained, pulling a bottle from under the counter as if she had it waiting and pushing it towards C.T, who twisted the top off.

"Something like that." C.T replied with an absent shrug, and sipped her drink.

Mag leaned in closer to Esther and whispered a bit loudly. "One day ima spike her coke, see how she reacts." She winked at the human before, turning too her boss and pretending that she had said nothing.

"You'll regret it"

Mag blanched a bit before turning back too Esther "Alright, on too your question, errr. I actually don't know how many people are housed here. Like 30 or something."

"27" C.T corrected before setting her brown eyes on Esther, her eyes narrowing suspiciously. "Why do you ask?"

                  (Heh, I like Mag. XD)

Under different circumstances, Esther might have been more appreciative of Mag's playfulness and friendliness, but right now she was more interested in watching C.T.'s reactions. This girl... She was just sort of a mystery, wasn't she? Very reserved, saying only what she felt was necessary. Esther took another large gulp of her scotch and winced as it went down. "Relax, I was just wondering how many people I'm going to be living with for the next... how ever many days I'm here," she said. She finished off her glass easily and handed it to Mag with another quick, "Thanks." Then she turned to C.T.

                  "Shall we continue the tour?"

"Relax, I was just wondering how many people I'm going to be living with for the next... how ever many days I'm here,"

Maybe she was being a little too suspicious? Esther had shown to be rather trustworthy, she's yet too show too much rebellious intent with her words since their agreement had been made, and other than a few fear induced angry outburst, she had been rather easy to deal with. Maybe she should give the girl some credit.

"I'm sorry." C.T spoke softly and Mag ate it up, leaning in. "Oooh what was that? An apology I hear? That's a first! I think she likes ya human." Mag stated bluntly and after a quick glare from a boss, she raised her hands in defense.

"Kidding! Jeez"

C.T shook her head, standing up, and turning to Esther, nodding her head towards the door. "Let's go" She said before beginning her walk.

There wasn't really much more too show, the facility wasn't really large, just multiple rooms on the top floor that served as the housing and a cafeteria, the, as well as the showers. The bottom floor, which C.T had lead Esther too was just one flat landing, spread along the far wall was 4 desk with PC's powered up and ready go, all but one were occupied. Those on the computers were people that she trusted to gather reliable info through the internet, and the one open computer was for free use. The rest of the floor had exercise equipment spread about, and most of that was occupied.

There wasn't much to do around the facility so most just stuck too working out for most of the day, as well as socializing, this room had the most traffic.

C.T really didn't feel the need to explain much of the tour too Esther, she felt it was obvious, except for the computer work, but that was something that the girl didn't need to know.

"You've seen the showers, they are communal, but I have a bathroom, in my room. So you can use that if you feel uncomfortable sharing."

(Thank you XD, tried to make her lively.)

Esther's mental map grew larger and more detailed with every step she took. She noted all potential exits, all important rooms... It would come in handy later, she knew, but she also knew there was no guarantee that map would still be accurate tomorrow. Hell, there was no guarantee it would still be accurate in twenty minutes, a number that was likely to only decrease as the scotch kicked in. She was beginning to notice one thing, though, that she was sure would stick with her: everything was so different here.

Even when Esther was living independently of her family (or, well, as independently as she could, given her parents' various contacts and ways of getting information on and/or interfering with her life), she never came into contact with this world. She had never entered a building or house that wasn't lavishly decorated, or was in need of serious repairs, or was furnished with items that didn't match. Before, Esther hadn't noticed how unfamiliar her surroundings were because she had still been in a state of shock and confusion. But now it was all clear, and she was finding it somewhat difficult to hide how stunned she was by the state of things here. Then again, she supposed she should have guessed it would be like this considering the houses she had driven past had all been questionably habitable.

And the bathrooms were communal. She had always had her own bathroom, her own bedroom, her own everything, both at home and while she was at school. Her parents had seen to that. Due to her father's high status and impressive salary, she had never been in want of anything when it came to material posessions.

"Yeah, I might take you up on that, thanks," Esther said, shoving her hands in her pockets and pivoting on her heel to look at C.T. "So this is, like... a gang or something, right? And you're the leader, I'm guessing?" Gangs. She knew about them, even the Supernatural ones, but she had never been associated with one.

"Anytime" C.T said absently, great. Now she felt like she was being far too nice too the girl. But was that wrong? She didn't want her too feel uncomfortable, but on the other end, she didn't know if letting the girl get too comfortable was acceptable either.

"So this is, like... a gang or something, right? And you're the leader, I'm guessing?"

C.T snorted at that, a humorous sound, a rare one from her. She looked around at those who spread around the open floor, she recognized all of them, first name and last. They all knew each other so well.

"Something like that." C.T said, echoing a response she had given to Mag a few moments ago, before deciding to elaborate. "I guess too your kind it would be a gang. Nothing more than a gathering of no good freaks, yes?" C.T asked, with a small laugh before shaking her head. "Too us the deprived it's a bit more than that." C.T finished before adding in Russian.

"семья"

The snort immediately annoyed Esther and she scowled slightly, unappreciative of C.T.'s response. It had been a question, not an attack, and yet C.T. was responding as if Esther had expected the worst of these people. Which, admittedly, was not entirely wrong, but C.T.'s reactions weren't exactly helping her case. The word in Russian caught her attention. "семья," she repeated under her breath. "Family." She only knew what it meant because of a friend of hers, who had taken Russian during their first year of college and occasionally taught Esther a few things about the language. Although Esther wasn't sure why this particular word had stuck with her. She had never felt any attachment to the word "family," had never had any need to use it.

Frowning again, Esther said, "To my kind, this would look like a gang no matter who was part of it. A bunch of teens and young adults under the same roof, no adults in sight... not exactly usual outside of a school setting, is it?" For a moment, Esther thought about how funny it was that C.T. and the other Supernaturals made assumptions about humans just as the humans made assumptions about the Supernaturals. It was a two-way street. Of course, the Supernaturals were at a disadvantage--even Esther's eyes were open enough to see that, at least to some degree. But nonetheless, the stereotypes went both ways.

It made her remember a concept she had learned in one of her university classes: the self-fulfilling prophecy. This theory states that a person's impression of another person will cause him to behave in a way that results in a reaction that supports their beliefs. For example, you expect your new roommate to by shy, so you don't talk to them and, consequently, they don't talk to you, and the lack of interaction makes it appear as if your assumption was true, even though you are largely responsible for the outcome. In this tension between humans and Supernaturals, both groups acted in ways that supported their ideas that the other group was cruel, dangerous, hateful. And they...

Ugh, this was getting too deep. Esther rubbed her forehead, a dull ache setting in inside her skull. Maybe she would go back for another scotch. "We don't all think you're 'no-good freaks,' y'know,'" she said, glancing at C.T.

"Would you call a group of individuals who were forced out of their homes and away from their families, for no good reasons, grouping together in order to survive a gang?" C.T countered listlessly. C.T shook her head.

"A gang is coordinated, gathering of parasites who flock together to appear stronger than they really are. We. Need each other. Simple as that. It doesn't matter what it looks like. Like I said, you wouldn't understand." Maybe Connie was being too harsh? Maybe the girl was right, and it did look like a gang, maybe she was being too strict in expecting Esther too assume anything else.

"We don't all think you're 'no-good freaks,' y'know,'"

Connie coughed a laugh, a completely humorous sound as she locked her eyes on Esther a hollow smirk on her pale lips. "I guess this is the part where you tell me how you don't think that me and my people are nothing but monsters, right?"

C.T sighed, now looking a bit tired with the conversation. "Heard it all before"

Esther's scowl deepened and she scrunched her nose in moderate annoyance. "I said not all of us think you're 'no-good freaks,' not that I'm one of them," she replied, meeting C.T.'s gaze full-on, despite how uncomfortable the Supernatural's grin made her. She folded her arms across her chest. "Honestly, I don't know what I think." Her parents, particularly her father, had been pushing the idea that Supernaturals were evil, unclean, and dangerous since before she could remember, and so Esther would always become confused when, at school, she would meet a non-human who was nice to her and wanted to become her friend. The law banning Supernaturals from human-dominated cities and towns had unsettled her, but she hadn't been outright against or for it. She just hadn't known. She hadn't known what to think--hell, she didn't know what to think now, many years later. All of her life she had believed one thing, and then she was presented with large amounts of evidence pointing to the contrary. That unrest had lingered at the back of her mind this whole time. "But so far," Esther added, "you haven't done much to sway me to your side." She looked at her arms and legs for a moment, noting the small bruises and scrapes that had resulted from the accident. And this damn headache...

C.T set Esther under her hard gaze for a few moments longer trying to read the girl trying to snif out any hint of a lie in her. Connie liked to believe that she had very good intuition, but in the end it always came down to chance. She was going to take a chance with Esther, she felt the girl was being honest with her.

"You don't know how you feel?" C.T asked evenly, before surprising a few of the people around them who had been listening to their conversation by genuinely laughing. But this sorta of behavior wasn't uncommon, those who had lived with Connie long enough know, that her moods could swing at any moment.

"At least you honest I suppose....hmmm. Oh yea, I could care less. Who's side you're on, and who you do or don't like. I'm not here too convince that my family here is perfect, because well.....we aren't. I believe the saying goes 'we are only human' and while the wording may not apply to us, we are all only human in our tendacies. Understand?" C.T spoke in one gulp of breath, seeming a tad bit more up beat, before rapidly deflating, reaching into her pocket and pulling out her cell phone.

"I think we've stalled this long enough" She spoke, her voice carrying her natural empty tone. "Male the call." She ordered. Befoire her expression softened, and a rakish grin touched her voice exposing all of her teeth. She tilted her head with her grin her eyes closed. "If you don't mind."

C.T.'s strange behavior--the way she had gone from laughing, to enthusiastic, to empty, to twisted--unnerved Esther to no end. Shaking slightly again, Esther took the phone, her eyes never leaving C.T.'s as if she was waiting for a catch or a punchline. Nothing else happened, though. It was time to call Mr. Bradley and put this whole plan into motion. She dialed her father's cell phone number and waited anxiously for him to answer.

                  "Hello? Jacob Bradley speaking."

"D-Dad? Dad, it's Esther," Esther squeaked. It wasn't too difficult to feign nervousness, considering C.T. had shaken her to the point that nervousness wasn't entirely fake.

Mr. Bradley's tone shifted, now annoyed. "Esther? Where are you? Why aren't you at home?"

                  "I've b-been taken hostage."

"What?! Esther, if this is a ploy for attention, so help me God..."

"It's not!" Esther insisted. By forcing herself to think unhappy thoughts (which, again, wasn't that difficult, given her actual situation), she was able to begin tearing up. "They know you're my father. They're holding me at gunpoint." Esther drew in a deep, shaky breath. "Dad, I'm really scared."

                  "Who are they?" he demanded.

"I don't know. Th-They wouldn't tell me." Esther glanced to C.T. "Wait, no, I'm not done talking to him yet," she said, pretending that the phone was being taken from her. "Please, wait!" She handed C.T. the device.
