Alces eyed the horse for a moment before smiling to himself, "I think I could manage to get him ready by myself. I've done it once before, after several tries. If I need help I'll be sure to let you know." He remarked as he followed Muris to the room in the back to get what was needed to prepare Orin to go out for a ride.

"Do you have a place to go riding in mind?" He asked as he began taking the stuff that was needed off of their hooks.

She tapped her chin thoughtfully as she put the various pieces of equipment necessary on Alucina,
"Well, I was thinking we could go along the trail through the woods. But if you want there are plenty of other places we could ride."

She knew them all. She'd be scouting for good riding areas ever since she'd started taking care of the horses.

"The trail through the woods might be a bit too..." he wasn't sure if he wanted to say it was too dangerous for her in case it hurt her feelings, but it was the only way he could think to put it, "Dangerous for you. From what I hear from the King, many strange creatures live in there that could harm us." He paused and grabbed another piece of equipment before adding, "So perhaps it would be best if we chose another riding area then. I'm sure anywhere else besides that place will be fine." He smiled at her and stood near the exit to the door, holding all of the stuff he could carry at one time that he would need; waiting for Muris to be done getting whatever supplies she might need for her horse.

Muris finished gathering her things and started tacking up Alucina,
"Oh, not the trail I'd picked out...at least, I didn't see any nasty creatures when I was walking 'round there before. But you're probably right."

She tilted her head thoughtfully as she settled the saddle over the horse's back via the use of a stepstool,
"We could just trot around one of the training arenas, I suppose. Or take a walk around the castle grounds."

Alces began preparing Orin for the ride, pausing every now and then, trying to think of what to do next, and what went on when. He stared at the horse for a while, then when it came to him, he did it and moved onto the next thing. Overall, going a bit slow, wanting to make sure he did everything correctly. It was while tacking the horse up that Alces was glad that he was a lazy horse; it made doing things like this a whole lot easier without the horse getting impatient and trying to move around.

"Taking a walk around the castle grounds seems fine." He smiled and then gave the horse a pat once he had finished; nodding his head at the job he had done. Obviously satisfied with it. "Would you like me to help you up on your horse?"

Muri shook her head, quickly scrabbling up onto Alucina's back much to the filly's amusement. Fortunately for the little mouse, Alucina seemed to be rather patient, though most female horses were a bit more inclined to such than were most young males.

"It's a pretty nice day t'day too, 'n all. I don' think it'll even rain."

"Very well." Alces said with a smile as he watched her mount before doing so himself. He got himself comfortable in the saddle and looked over at the small girl and gave a nod, "I think you're right." The horse snorted as Alces gave him a pat on the side of the neck, then waited for Muris to lead the way. "After you." He made a sweeping motion with his hand towards the exit of the stable and smiled as he turned his horse in that general direction.

Muris directed her horse out of the building, then around towards the outside of the castle. They could at least walk -around- it...she didn't feel much like dealing with Rosa's wrath if they walked the horses -through- the castle.

"Do you...remember much about your parents?" she asked. She'd been meaning to ask the others about this for a while now, but Alces was the only one she felt she could ask about it comfortably at this point.

As Alces had Orin follow closely just off the side of the other horse he repositioned himself in the saddle to get more comfortable. When asked that question Alces remained silent for a while as he thought about it for a moment.

Slowly, he shook his head, "No, I'm afraid not." he answered; the tone in his voice a bit sad. "I was far too young to remember much of anything. I wasn't even at an age old enough where I could talk. Lady Xannyia had to teach me how to once I was released from that awful curse." He looked over to her again and gave her a small smile, "You remember your parents though don't you? You have spoken of them before." Alces gave a few slight nods of his head as he turned his attention back to where the horses were going.

The little mouse nodded, looking rather sad at the thought as Alucina plodded easily along. It wasn't hard to see that the filly was perfect for Muris-- she seemed to know what Muris wanted her to do even without any sort of command from the little fey,
"Yeah..I remember Mama and Papa really well..but..well...do you remember anything you saw while you were in the hall? I remember everything..every time my Mama and Papa took a horse out of the stall I was in..."

They'd always looked at the window so sadly, too. She remembered that, and it bothered her.

With a shake of his head Alces replied, "No, I'm afraid not. I wasn't in the hall. I was in the Herald's chambers, which would have been my father and mother's room." He gave his horse another pat on the side of his neck and looked back towards Muris. "Sometimes, I think that's a good thing because it saves me a great deal of pain, not being able to remember it. Though at times, I wish I could." He paused for a moment then added, "Although I'm sure I remember a few things. I'm just not able to think of them now."

He gave the girl a sympathetic look, and would have given her a comforting hug if they weren't on the horses at the moment, "I'm sorry Muri." Even though it wasn't his fault, he felt bad for the young girl as anyone would and wished he could have somehow stopped the whole curse from ever happening; saving all of the current Fey from going through that horrible tragedy.

"So your parents changed rooms when you were Cursed?" she asked, curious. She wondered if her father and mother wouldn't have done the same. Probably. And she could bet they would have stopped using that stable if they could, but there had been too many horses and it had been necessary to use all the stalls.

"I'm sorry if you don't wanna talk 'bout it. I was jus' curious if I was the only one who 'membered."

She didn't -want- to remember. It'd been so horrible the first few days, before she realized that her parents couldn't hear her at all, or see her crying.

"No, they remained in the same room. At least I think. I was just too young to remember anything at all. I was not even a year old. Or just over the age of one." He continued to give Orin an occasional pat as he spoke.

"There is no need for you to be sorry Muri." He assured her with a slight smile. "You are just curious." He repeated after she had said it and went to move his horse a bit closer to hers so he could reach over and give her a pat on the back. "I'm sure some of the others that were older when affected by the curse might remember. Such as Countess Filix, Aide Aesculus, the King, maybe even Countess Rosa. However, I think she was rather young at the time as well, but at least older than I had been."

Muris pondered this a moment as her horse moved forward, and then dashed all those thoughts out of her head. Really, this was supposed to be a fun outing! ..and she was supposed to be finding out if Alucina was the perfect horse for her.

"Let's go through here," she said softly, motioning towards the garden. She could see if Alucina would work for her better there simply because she could make her dodge certain patches of plants and go around others. Just to get a feel for how she moved.

"Very well." Alces gave a nod and then turned his horse towards the garden. "Just make sure she doesn't trample any plants. Especially roses. I don't think Countess Rosa would like that very much." He gave her a small grin, "And they are pretty after all, so I could see why she wouldn't want them to get ruined in any way." He gave a nod to himself and shifted in the saddle, "Are you able to tell if this is the right horse for you yet?" He asked curiously, wondering how fast she was able to determine things like this.
