Ara listened, interested in these caves Takhi started talking about. She had heard whispers of them here and then but never enough to peek her interest too much. The way Takhi talked about it, however, seemed to snag her attention. The experience and training would do her some good. It had been ages since she'd taken on dragons and her magic was feeling rather rusty. She also needed orbs if she was going to advance in level any time soon. What better way to get both of those things than this supposed dragon cave. Just as she was about to open her mouth to ask more about its whereabouts, Detra spoke up, only to be cut off by the sound of Lith falling to the ground.

"Lithian...!" His name came out on a gasp as she went to move to check on her friend. She hesitated, however, as Casseth moved.

As Cas felt Lith's magic fade away, his eyes flew open at the same time he heard a thud. Grunting, he pushed himself up. The majority of the pain had subsided, thanks to Lithian, and so he was able to move rather well. As he spotted his friend on the floor, he moved, kneeling beside Lith as quick as his body would allow. "Lith. Damn it..." He clenched his teeth as a knot formed in his stomach. "C'mon, wake up." He placed a hand on his friend's chest and shook him gently. "Lithian..." His brows knitted together as he patted Lith's cheek, urging him to wake up. Cas would never forgive himself if anything happened to Lithian while he was healing him.

Ara frowned as he watched the emotions play over Casseth's face. She saw the obvious care for Lithian on the hybrid's face, the worry that seemed to spill out so easily from him. She had never seen the two of them interact before, having opted to stay away from Lith whenever he was with Casseth. Not really trusting the boy that Lith put so much faith into. Now, however, Ara was seeing a side to Cas that she had never expected. One that made her question her own beliefs as she watched Casseth try to rouse Lithian.

Lithian’s awareness faded in and out like the tide, gradually swelling in only to slip back out again on the receding wave before he could gasp on properly. He had barely been aware of over exerting himself to begin with. He’d simply channeled his focus, made Casseth the primary — the only priority — and with that, he had buried himself, sinking all of his conscious energy into repairing Cas’ wounds and tuning out the rest of the world. Including, apparently, his own body.

He shivered, shaking his groggy, throbbing head, and struggling to force his eyes open through the bleary curtain of fog. “Cas…? You shouldn’t…move yet…” Lithian’s lashes fluttered, far heavier than usual, slipping down despite his best intentions and threatening to blot out his view. “I’m so glad you’re alive…I was worried, I…thought I might never…” His brow furrowed, a sharp spike of pain pulsing between his temples, and the rest of his sentence died out.

A breath released from both Cas and Ara at Lithian's voice. Casseth moved, ignoring Lithian's comment that he should be doing just the opposite. He bent to lift his friend up from the floor, wincing slightly at the pull at his stomach. Ignoring it, he maneuvered Lithian to the bench, laying him down gently and crouching beside him. "You fool. You shouldn't use so much energy on my Lithian." He shook his head as he let his forehead rest against Lith's shoulder.

Ara watched Casseth as he moved, noting the obvious care with which he handled Lithian. She bit her lip before moving in, more curious about her friend's condition than the fact that she was in a room with both strangers and those of oblivionite blood. "I-is he alright?" Ara asked as she knelled down beside Casseth, placing a hand over one of Lithian's.

Casseth jerked up, eyes narrowing at Ara as she spoke. Surprised, as he was by her closeness, it took him a moment before he found his words. "He used too much energy healing me," he said with a frown. "He shouldn't have used so much of his magic."

“Nnnh…no, I’m…” Lithian blinked groggily, shaking his head. “‘M fine…” At the combination of attention from both of his friends, Lithian’s cheeks heated, embarrassment overriding the rest of his concerns, at least for the time being. “Casseth was the one hurt,” he mumbled, frowning and trying to shake off the fog behind his eyes. “Pay attention to him…” Lithian pushed at the seat beneath him as he spoke, working up onto his elbows and then struggling with his palms to sit properly upright. It took more concentration than he anticipated to keep from wincing at the rush of dizziness to his head that ensued.

Out of the way of the rest, Detraeus watched in silence. Between Lithian’s healing and the previous work done on him, though, Casseth seemed far better, overall — certainly mobile — and once they roused Lithian back into walking, they departed from the waiting area. After the concern seemed to have died mostly down, the girl dovaa from the alley — Araceli, apparently, though she had not introduced herself to him personally — began questioning again about the dragon cave, clearly curious and trying to divulge what information she could, particularly on its whereabouts.

When they made it above ground, Takhi parted ways with them, leaving just the four, though Casseth and his long-haired tag-along seemed to be a tightly knit enough pair that Araceli lingered conveniently to the side, looking torn between awkwardness over Casseth’s presence and desire to be there for her friend. Detraeus approached.

“You,” he addressed her. “Assuming you want nothing to do with me, don’t show up tomorrow. It’ll be infested with an oblivionite.” Without so much as waiting for a response, he stepped away again, waving his farewell to Casseth with a flick of his fingers before heading on his way.

Lithian blinked after him, and then frowned, glancing over to Ara and then back to Cas. “Is he always that…abrupt?”

Ara blinked at the oblivionite's voice, an unexpected intrusion to her thoughts. "Wha..." She snapped her mouth shut at his last words, watching as he stalked off away from them. Ara frowned, thinking on his words. How would she feel about showing up and finding him at the caves? Ara, despite her past assumptions on oblivionites, was thoroughly confused anymore. Not only had the oblivionite saved her twice but he had also helped them down to Cassth. Stack on top of that, the way Casseth had reacted to Lithian's faint had left her speechless. None of those things had been what she'd expected from anyone with oblivionite blood. She rubbed her arms as she stared off in the direction he had disappeared. Maybe she would show up tomorrow. She was free to go wherever she pleased, whenever she please. Ara glanced over to Lithian and Cas, eying her friend close as the pair interacted.

Casseth's arm rested over Lithian's shoulder as the emerged from below. He grinned at Lith and shrugged. "Pretty much. He tends to keep to himself but he's a good fighter. I've been training with him a lot lately." Cas pulled away, frowning as he rubbed his hand over his stomach. "I'm not going to lie, I was surprised to see him with you guys. I am thankful he decided to trust you and bring you down." He glanced up, gaze shooting from Lithian to Araceli and then back. "Thank you Lithian. I'll be more careful next time, promise." With that behind them, the three of them exited the Pit. Casseth said his goodbyes to the pair and headed home, warring with himself on what to tell his father about the event.
