"Yeah, well, you break your weapon and you're kind of ********," shrugged Babylon. "Go ahead and laugh." Maybe by convincing Alexandria that everyone had started out as clueless as he was would help reassure him that he had the potential for greatness.

It was getting late though, and if they lingered for too long they'd be sure to attract unwanted attention. Quickly, he demonstrated the blocks, tapping lightly on Alexandria's arms to show him how to move. "Practice those," he said. "And let's call it a night, okay? Head home. Get some sleep. Et cetera."

"Stay in school," he added after a moment, pulling his lantern back out of the ether. "I'll see you around, okay?"

"Yep," said Babylon, and looked oddly misty-eyed for a second. "I knew a girl - her starter weapon was an apple." And the moment was gone. "You could go to your wonder and try to find out," he added. It wasn't really something Babylon would be able to make any calls about - beyond just generally being in favor of wonder visits.

"You should go to your wonder, anyway. You can learn a lot there," he said, watching the page put his coat back on. "Get your signet ring, and then we can pass notes like freshmen in high school. It'll be fun."

But that was really the proper end of this conversation. "G'night," he said, waving the page off.
