Serafina followed along with the others to the table, knowing that this seemed to be what they were supposed to be doing.

She needed to do what she was supposed to be doing.

Deciding not to introduce herself unless directly prompted, the 'Native' ghoul sat herself down near the horseman, who the ghoul was calling 'Mr. Oldest.' 'Mmur' seemed to be his actual name. Interesting name; how was that spelled? Mmmmmer? Whatever. She needed to dig in and eat the food that smelled divine and act like she was just late or something...

The ghoul reached for some potatoes, keeping up her movements even when Mmur leaned over and whispered to her that they would have to interrogate her quietly. "Agreed," murmured Serafina, leaning towards Mmur, her suspicious eyes turned to the Worst Liar in Halloween. She wasn't only being suspicious to the locals, she was being suspicious to her fellow Halloweeners. That ghoul just was not normal...

"So where do you think we should start?"

Solia stopped and gaped at Serafina. "No, I have said no lies. I do not typically use this body. This is more my original body. Do you not understand the transference of one's mind to another form- what possession is akin to? I do that. That is what I do."

She shook her head, Israfel telling her she was rambling, yet keeping her grounded, in English. "And smallpox is horrible- It decimated thousands of native peoples from invading so called 'settlers'." She gave the pilgrims slightly annoyed glances as she muttered about the disease. So historically inaccurate it hurt. They should have been starving. Half dead and stealing food. She was pretty sure history wasn't this pretty.

As the others sat at the table, Solia inched forward, eying the Turkey with a mix of confusing on strange conflicting feelings.
She'd never been to a real thanks giving dinner before.
The one at Deus hardly counted really.

"............................"
She looked down the table. Consuming food in golem, or as a human was deady.
"..................I can't eat this."

This mission was going horribly horribly downhill and was so wrong on so many historical levels her little old tumblr social justice heart could hardly take it.

Everything was all merry and full of thanks. As one of the pilgrims came to pass the gathering a round of mashed potatoes, he paused and nearly dropped the food.

"What's happening to you!?" he cried. Their outfits were coming undone. It was like their clothing were slowly melting away or something along those lines.

"Oh no no no. This isn't good. Quick! Have some turkey!" he shouted while promptly beginning to shove a turkey leg into each of their mouths.

One by one, each of you fall. The world begins to swim and swirl into a mass of colors, until finally, you hear a loud, throbbing sound, and the world goes black.

It was strange to hear someone talk like the flickering ghoul did. Did she mutter something about smallpox being a bad thing? From what she understood, smallpox and other epidemics spawned huge amounts of FEAR did they not? Wasn't that what they wanted?

Serafina quirked a brow at the other woman, still very obviously suspicious but this time not being so loud about it. Right, they would have to question her quiet-- why was it suddenly so hard to hear? Everything sounded so distant and why was there a leg of meat in her mouth? It did taste pretty good but was there something wrong--

What was wrong with her clothing? Was it dripping? She had never seen clothing drip before. Was this just part of how Thanksgiving Town worked? What had Professor Selene given them? Why was everything swimming? She felt kind of dizzy, but dizzy with colors like a kaleidoscope or something or other, like she was staring through the distance into a swirl of color--

This was bizarre.

That was the last conscious thought she had before everything went black, the loud noise ringing in her ears.

Of course they were thankful, right? They had to be, at least while they were here. She was really curious about what the Pilgrims did to the turkeys here, and why Professor Selene seemed to not want to talk about it. She blinked then and stared at the rather large turkey on the table.

Oh. No duh, Taika, they ate them! Turkeys were apparently for eating here in Thanksgiving Town. And they smelled absolutely delicious, too... But was that all? Was that what Professor Selene had been so evasive about? It couldn't be, could it? That was too easy. There had to be something else they did to the turkeys before they ate them... but what? And would they have time to find out?

She followed the group as they were led to the table of wonderful smelling food. Her stomach rumbled again as the scents assailed her nose. "Mmm," she murmured, then eyed the flickering ghoul. Smallpox sounded fun, actually... Well, as long as it wasn't happening to her. She plopped down at the table across from one of the 'native' ghouls. "No clue," she answered her. "I guess wherever we want?" she shrugged and reached for some turkey, giving the flickering ghoul a glance as she heard her say she couldn't eat it. "Why not?" she asked, wondering if the ghoul would even tell the truth. She claimed to not be lying, but there was something off about her. She didn't look like she belonged in Halloween, really. Well, not that Taika was any less human looking, but at least she had her broom and her magic back in Halloween. Just then one of the pilgrims noticed their clothing coming undone.

She tasted the turkey he shoved in her mouth a split second before there was a deafening ringing noise in her ears. Then everything was black again.

The longer the flickering girl went on, the more suspicious he grew. The feeling was an ill fit—Mmur was naturally curious, sure, but he usually left the suspicion to his brethren. Still, it was probably a good thing that his clothing started melting off or she might have been forced to endure wiggly, inquisitive fingers prodding at her face.

He let out a surprised squeak as the world around them joined in on the melting, and then he was out.
