"No," Keshi flounced slightly, wings fluttering along behind her like long, wispy veils. "You shouldn't question goddesses, because we are very powerful." ...she wasn't really powerful. She'd never cursed anyone, she'd never threatened to smite anyone. In fact, her entire existence had been a little boring. "Now is when you're supposed to lead me away to a secluded little spot so that you can speak to me of romance with many flowery words, and I show you what it's like to be with a goddess like me." She sounded pretty sure of herself. The truth of the matter was that Keshi really hadn't been with many mortals. Two that she could remember. Immortality made the brain a little fuzzy at times. Keshi lifted her eyebrows expectantly.

Kraken forced a smile that actually didn't need much forcing at all now that the goddess seemed to be in a good humor once more. "I think I know of just the spot, but I hope you'll be able to make do with clever words instead of flowery ones. In this pride, we associate flowers with cowardice."
"I have been trying to think of a lioness from our songs and history that are like you, you know, and so far I have been completely unsuccessful. New songs will have to be composed in your honor, I think." Kraken wasn't very good at clever talk or flowery talk, to be honest, but he was trying. Maybe he should have paid more attention when Kjell boasted. Too late now.
He did remember Kjell mentioning that ladies prefer clean men, and so he finally shook out his coat. Keshi would probably care about that later, if she didn't now. Then he tilted his head to one side in a beckoning sort of motion and began walking toward a spot his brother had told him about having used for just this purpose. Minus the goddess. That thought made him smug, and he imagined himself telling Kjell quality over quantity. And then he imagined being smacked, but it would be worth it.
"I think the songs would have to compare you to all sorts of unlikely things, things that aren't usually nice, and then show how you're like them in the best ways." He thought very, very hard for a moment as he walked and then came up with, "True love is like ghosts, which everybody talks about and few have seen. That should be one of the lines."pinchmonster I totally stole that line from François de La Rochefoucauld.

This was more like it. Even though he'd said that flowers meant cowardice, Keshi was more than a little surprised by the ease with which he spoke such things. They were flowery to Keshi, at least. She idly wondered if the females of these lands would consider them flowery, as well. That thought was gone as soon as it had come. Her smile turned into something a little more feminine as he walked away from her, and Keshi wasted no time in following after Kraken. This was going to be a roundabout way of getting even for Dvija and the way he'd been wronged by his Tempest. "It's a beautiful line," she drew up alongside him and gave him a particularly flattering smile, slow and soft. "Perhaps someday I'll visit again and the song will have been finished and you can sing them to me, or have one of your music-singers sing it them to me. I like songs," Keshi added, her wings dissipating into nothing more than mist. Little did he know that she'd only come back to dump any cubs that resulted from their illicit tête–à–tête.

"I'll work on it in hope," he promised, blissfully ignorant of her schemes, and more than a little distracted by the way her wings just seemed to vanish. "Did your wings...? Sorry. Stupid question."
It had never occurred to him to use cubs to exact revenge on someone. Probably because he couldn't have cubs, himself. On the other hand, it also didn't occur to him that he might end up siring cubs with a goddess. He sort of assumed she wouldn't want that to happen and so it simply wouldn't.
They had reached Kjell's spot and so he stopped walking, but he wasn't sure what he ought to do next. Maybe, he reflected, he should have done like most lions his age and taken a thrall or two, just for the experience. At this point, that was one of those regrets he would just have to live with and hope he didn't embarrass himself too much.
He smiled and hoped that he looked charming.

"Don't want them getting in the way of things," Keshi replied quite succinctly, her tone growing a little ...deeper. She hoped it wasn't too manly sounding. She was only trying to be a little seductive. It seemed to be working, as Kraken was going to be a rather willing participant in things. That was good. She wasn't sure what she'd have done if he'd proved to be entirely unwilling. He looked... Keshi wasn't sure that charming would be the proper word to describe the expression he wore. Perhaps endearing would be better. She wasn't really certain that he could be charming at all. Adorable, yes. Pretty, absolutely. "This is a nice spot," Keshi continued in that deep-hopefully-lusty-voice, batting her lashes at Kraken as her tail wove sinuous designs behind her. At least she hoped they were sinuous. Whatever. Her attention span hadn't ever been what could be considered focused, and this bit of seduction was really stretching the limits. What did one say when one was ready to begin the act? "Come here." That was good enough, she supposed.
