Europa wasn't exactly sure of Zirconia's sincerity at that exact moment - she'd gone from unfazed to oh you poor baby in about five seconds flat, after all - but she was to the point where it didn't really matter. Any sympathy at all was more than welcome, and she nodded. "Thank you," she said, sniffling once and then, determinedly, telling herself that was as close to crying as she was allowed to come. "I'm going to kill her. I'm going to rip out her throat." Which was, you know, awfully sad, right? "She mocked me," she said. "She runs around wearing my cousin's face and she thinks that's one huge joke. She killed her and she thinks it's funny." But, like, back to the mirrored starseed. "I'd really like to hear what you find out about those things," she said. "If you don't mind keeping me in the loop." She knew they weren't exactly friends yet, but - Europa always liked to have as much information as she could get her hands on.

"They're not human," Zia added at Europa's distress that the creature wearing her cousin's face found entertainment in the destruction she caused.
She held the starseed in her fingers up to show her again, "Their souls have no light, I've only ever known that to mean they're dead. The Cauldron probably rejects them in the same way it rejects damaged goods and foreign souls. She's a monster, who can't even call herself a basic human being anymore."
It was meant to be encouragement, that Europa's desires for the brutal and bloody end to Leto were just and correct, but to add on something more blatant urging her to try again felt cruel at this point.
They were both too tired.
She did glance at the mirrorseed and back to Europa before shifting back up to her cat girl form. "Right, well so far.. I know it does this," And attempted to magically interact with the mirrorplating the same way she would with any other reflective surface she'd want to walk or talk through.
It reacted in the way she'd come to typically expect. Shifting and moving like quicksilver as the ripples tried to escape her fingers and giving off a distressed sounding, low hum. after seconds passed.

Europa nodded. She was receiving Zia's message loud and clear, but it wasn't like she needed anyone to tell her to keep trying to kill Leto: she was going to do that anyway. "We'll put her down," she said, jaw tightening in steely resolve. "She's got to crawl back out of her hole eventually, and when she does, we'll crush her." But not tonight. Tonight, she stifled a yawn and thought about how her bed would be a totally nice place to spend the next six hours. Focus, Europa, she thought, leaning in to check out what Zia was doing with the starseed. "Well, it doesn't sound happy," she observed. Which. Wait a second."Maybe I'm overtired and that's why I'm asking this, but If they're dead," she said, "How is it reacting to you? Dead. As in totally inert, right?" Which, actually, didn't account for the fact that the DMC was a real, actual thing and not a pile of corpses. Europa rubbed her temples. "I'm too sleepy for this," she said apologetically.

It shouldn't have, but equating 'dead' with 'totally inert' seemed to grind Zia to a complete and total stop that made her stare at Europa, and then the mirrorseed as if she was baffled by both of them.
"...Uh."
It hit her all at once that since the flood of Zirconia's memories got injected into her head, she had this vast knowledge of the magical world and it greatly affected the way she thought of death.
She was thinking of light and souls and she only just now realized that she hadn't really thought of death in terms of biology and what it realistically meant for people.
"Huh."
After taking a second to force her brain as hard as she could to will it into being just unsleepy enough to process, she finally managed to string together a set of words. "Well the original senshi light is faded away and it's not in the cauldron but..." She moved the mirrorseed in her fingers. "Maybe it's twitching like when you shock a dead frog to make it's legs kick?"

Europa shrugged. She understood science just fine, but most of this theoretical magic went right over her head. Four and a half years as a senshi could only force so much to make sense to you. "I guess," she said, but it didn't - it didn't really process for her. Maybe she'd have to track Zirconia down again when she wasn't nearly so tired and get her to explain it then. She would probably be within her rights to do that; they weren't friends yet, but they were closer to that than they were to being enemies. "Would you mind horribly if we worked more on this another time instead of unraveling the secrets of the multiverse tonight?" she asked, stifling a yawn. "I'm completely beat." Oh, right, total exhaustion.
Europa's yawn was contagious as the guardian found herself mimicking the action.
She nodded at the suggestion. "I think we have a few mutual contacts," She said as she shifted back to her civilian form and looked a little wobbly on her feet as she put the starseed in her sweater pocket.
"Call me sometime."
And with that, she turned on her heel and left, fully intending to find someplace to mirrorwalk home.
