The torches weren't anything significant, but they could be detached from the walls. They might have been important for lighting dark places for those who couldn't see.
The runes on the ceiling were not like those of Hunters, there was nothing of that runic kind for those who recognized the sigils of Hunters. Instead, the glowed an archaic black, and felt oddly menacing. They were meant to seal something inside, something far greater than the students. The students, all of them, were simply caught in the crossfire of something far more powerful, like tiny flies stuck in a jar meant for spiders.
The keys on the wall were detachable, there were six to be exact, but all but one were rusted away.

Lan scowled at the runes, black fingernails scratching at them, wishing them gone, off her person. They marred her and her perfect form. Undignified, she hated them. While not like the markings of her hated hunters, they were marks all the same. "These are not what I would consider flattering decorations to my personage." He voice was loud, intended to be as such. To be heard. " Who among you is of the clans? Who would claim any understanding of how we, I, have come to be here?" Demanding, as always. She took a step forward, nails raking down bars, the echo ringing. " Why do I hunger like I have no harvested in a hundred years?"

After a bout of silence, Shun finally got on the move, making his way to see what Amrita was looking at. He didn't say anything, It seemed strange to him that these keys would be just hanging here on the wall, when they had what were probably locked doors all around. This wouldn't be a very effective prison if they gave them a way out, so he had some doubts on the effectiveness of the keys.
Unless there was another purpose to this place other than to contain.
Cautiously, he picked up the not rusted key and looked it over.

It was a pretty ordinary key, perhaps meant for something with a lock. That was usually what keys were meant for. The design was simple.

A simple key. Shun sighed and went on to try and unlock the door at the end of the hall.

Hungry..... hun...gry.... hungry...
... I hunger....
She woke slowly, slurping her tongue back in her mouth. How she ached, how she hungered, how she wanted to sate her hunger. Hamika rolled onto her feet and blinked at the room and the others.
... Mmm food....
She shook her head and snapped back to a semi state of reality. Great. Wonderful. Ya got yourself into more trouble. Well, time to find away out. She noticed the boil with the key and kept an eye on him
... Tasty...
She wandered over to the wall and ran her fingers over the groves, as if she were looking for a lock or hole.

For the most part, after she had come to, Maple had had her head pressed to the wall of her little cell. With a forlorn look on her face. Even after the gate had opened. She felt so hungry, so drained and so miserable. Especially after she had pushed up the sleeves of her cardigan to notice there were runes etched directly into her arms. Why didn't she just leave when she had the chance? Why did she make these horrible choices? Siiiiigh.
"I'm s-still ... here..." The witch muttered, a little belatedly from the initial role call. There wasn't much to be said to the other demanding question though, as she wasn't of the clans. Idly, her finger had been tracing the runes on one arm. Though they didn't look familiar from any of the books she had read, but they were still there. Glowing.
Mooooooope.

It looked like there was nothing but chains. But it seemed one of the other students had found a key of sorts and was trying to get out. That would be helpful. in the long run. Andrew watched for now conserving his energy. That ghoul was eyeing the one with the key. would she attack the moment that he found something? Andrew eyed her, tail still burning far too low. This ghoul, she was dangerous. She was possibly having the same ideas he was having... clearly the name of this game was to eat. survive. He did not want to be prey. hp: 9

He’d love to have said that his first thought was an apology for leading Aldira to this terrible place, to admit that he’d made a terrible… horrible decision because he wanted answers, and absurdly appearing doors had reminded him of the place he’d last been… But if that even started to be his first thought, it was replaced quickly by –hunger. Hunger and the pit of fear that coiled with that famine in his stomach How little fear he had left made him feel…feral, his voice sibilant. “Ssssso… Hungryyyy.” He hissed through clenched teeth, his eyes narrowed to fine slits. He ran his fingers over the runes to examine them, and then turns his gaze about to see if he can identify the source of the buzzing that pervades the room. – Who would do such a thing? The thought was a moment’s clarity in the fog of desire. He wanted so badly to coil around someone and just…draw the fear right out of them, he swayed from foot to foot but only part of that action was hunger. Part of it was something far more basic and instinctual to his species. “Remi?” He called, catching what seemed a familiar voice. He was so hungry, even the small but intent action of examining the runes left a terrible need. Whoever had lured them here would surely be deeply disappointed when he was among the first to…to dissipate. Despair again, running in a cold line up his spine. He’d just wanted answers, now he was eying an old friend like he was a mouse, ready to slide down his gullet. He bit his lip hard as though that alone could stop the treacherous desire. “…I thought this might have been more like… like that Dream I just had.” He admitted to no one in particular. 4 HP

"I'm kind of regretting this." Amrita murmured to Shun, keeping the comment between them both as he came close enough to snatch up the key she had been about to take herself. "You'd think we'd know better, eh?" She added just as quietly. The Reaper left to investigate another door, and Amrita looked down to see the trap door - interesting.
She didn't have to turn around to see who was speaking. She recognized their voice immediately, and both the tone and pitch made her roll her eyes. There was, deep down, a small part of her that held quite the grudge for this woman; it was the same part of her she tried very hard to pretend didn't exist, so when she did speak it was as calmly as she was able through the hunger.
"I think most of us are Halloween." Amrita explained. "Unless some - like you - came through the doors after we did." Be Nice she demanded herself internally, grimancing. "-And I don't think anyone here can explain our situation anymore than that." Though, now that she was thinking about it, perhaps she should go find some of the younger students she had spoken to earlier, just to tell them Welcome to Amityville; Where what can go wrong, probably already has.
"That's good, Maple~!" The patchwork was trying her best to sound reassuring. "Do you think you could help us find a way out?" She had heard the other ghoul's moping mutter through the echo of the halls; hopefully she could contain her hunger, since it seemed that they needed more eyes to look around.
Then, carefully, she tried to open the trap door.

Aisha was glad to hear voices she knew and yanked one of the removable torches from a sconce on the wall. She didn't have any extra special eyesight or heightened senses so everything was pretty dark. "I'm here too. Amrita? Shun?" The names she could remember. The torchlight cast massive distorted shadows through the corridor and she found a few people gathered by the end, a collection of keys and a door. Except the sight of all of them made her empty insides gnaw. Gnaw. Eat. Tear. Aisha shook the urge, trembling a bit as the feeling of fear started to bubble inside of her chest. It was like a weight, pressing and pressing until she was sure she couldn't stand it. The poor ghoul had no idea she was on the verge of a panic attack. "Where's uh.." What had his name been? The pretty water boil? She moved from cell to cell until she found a ghoul with him and Aisha's heart broke to see him scared and in pain. "Hey do you guys need help? I think the others are trying to get out..." And again her body gnawed from the inside. The ghoul and boil were so close and full of FEAR. Aisha bit her lip. Stamina: 4 Carrying: 1 lit torch

Eat. Consume. Her eyes had taken on a feral gleam; the only thing about her that currently had any light to it... Except for the runes, maybe, but they seemed to glow with the same angry, hungry light. She wasn't herself. Her head wasn't on quite right. Nothing was as it should be... A low growl parted her lips as she dragged herself stumbling to her feet, another wave of hunger wracking her body. "Nn...." Aldara had come here with someone. She had not been alone. She had been following someone. Who? Who...? "Pachua." She spoke his name as she spotted him and her first instinct was to attack; to sink her talons into him, tear him to shreds and feast. The thought encouraged her. The thought repulsed her. It shouldn't have, though. This was his fault. [Stamina: 5 ]

"Oy, B-Ren, you here . . .?"
At least they weren't alone; she did see figures and hear other voices, thankfully. But the smell, the smell--the boil was dank, and somehow that was appeasing to her. Wet, slippery, maybe like a fish--
She shut her eyes tight and tried to will it away, startled as someone with a torch came by. The gaunt look flickering in the light didn't ease her nerves, but she managed to nod nevertheless. "Think we all need some help," Piper murmured. A disturbing amount of thought flooded her mind about whether rotten meat was really as bad as it seemed.
Focus, Pipes.
She swallowed, patted the pretty boil's hair to assure him she'd be back, and grabbed a torch as well before returning. "How, though?"

[Entering] As she came out on the other side of the door everything had changed. Darkness was all consuming but that never bothered here, she was one with the shadows for so long. What bothered her was the pain in her arms, she glanced at them and found them marker. What in the name of Jack was going on here? She also felt something in what would be the pit of her stomach, something she had never truly felt before, or at least never like this. Was this hunger, was this the aching craving she had heard about? She regretted coming here almost right away. Wait....but she didn't come here alone. She heard voices and moved swiftly out of the cell to greet them, to get information, to see if Amrita was there. She was helpful before. "Amrita?" She called out into the darkness. She froze for a second, there where others here....so many others, she hoped that they where all friendly. HP: 5

Lan too, knew that voice. The distinct voice that made her sneer with contempt and loathing. How Ironic then, that the darkness would trap the queen who's color was the same hue. "I would not think to find a queen among the commoners." Lan walked down the cage, pacing. A lion looking for prey, eyes flicking towards the forms of others. Tools. Sources of FEAR. Slowly her strides changed, sending her closer, until she was within arm's reach of the black queen. "Yet here we are your majesty. I take it that your kingdom is not responsible then. If that is such the case-" Lan reached out offering her hand towards Amrita. "Then until we find who has trapped us, let us agree to put aside old grievances hrm? Besides-" She smiled, even in the darkness. The little light available glittering off teeth white and eyes gold. Clean and immaculate- inhuman. A different breed of FEAR yet FEAR all the same that had formed her. "As a member of the clans, it is better to have us an ally than enemy madam vice-president."
