General info

Grimdark grew up with a heady thirst for knowledge about the world around her, and grew up carefully taking apart things and individuals apart to understand that they were and how they worked. As she grew, she began to write down her studies -- how muscles worked, veins traveled, hearts pumped. Of cultures and clothes and accessories.

Finding a vast cave she could set up, she made herself a private library, and started constructing within it -- cages and pens, work surfaces, preservation areas, collected supplies and tools.. The cave transformed into a prviate museum, library, lab... and a Zoo, capturing and collecting soquili to trap within the cells and corrals, some larger enclosures. Some as samples and specimens of a collection, prized living trophies thought of as little more than property, and others as experimental stock.

During one experiment, however, she captured and strapped down a cursedwalker to try out an 'angeni charm' on, carefully handling the leather necklace by the leather as she explained what she had and what she was going to do to her test subject, study the psychological effects before dissecting to see if any biological changes were made while savoring the terrified panic of her subject. However, the walker got a foot loose and kicked at her arm, the momentum swinging the pendant to make contact with fur and skin.

It screamed to life as she pulled back, trying to claw the burning, painful charm from her body as she roared in anger and pain as the burning sensation spread across all her body, her eyes filling with blinding white light.

An hour later she woke and instead opted to vivisect her still trapped subject instead.

Over time, little changed -- she found like minded, scientific walkers with no morals toward keeping 'inferior' species such as other soquili and familiars, but also a few familiars to aid in her study, transcribing notes as she experimented, making a few friends in her like minded charmed scientific walkers capable of working together with her, but otherwise she is nearly indistinguishable from a non-charmed walker.

- Deeply studies her victims cultures and personal life and habits, and will often catalog their remains for further study.
- Keeps ponies with individuals they like, not just for breeding purposes, but she finds giving them small comforts keeps them healthier longer as subjects. If needing to breed a subject with another subject they dont care for to get certain traits for study or to add to her collection., she will temporarily separate the couple for periods of time to give the female a chance to 'take', before putting them back together to comfort each other so to reduce stress.
- Individuals of her Private collection are well fed and given comfortable living conditions, and given a fond air and at times even spoiled to make sure they don't waste away, but no freedom.
-"Breeders" Are labrats that have been stored away to not be experimented on, but instead used souly to breed
-Her biggest quest is to knock out two angeni -- one with and one without a domain that cannot be used aggressively or defensively, and start cutting off pieces in their sleep to see when or if they lose their domain, and then dissect completely to see what biology they might have different from angeni without domains.
- getting really good at taxidermy, pickling, mummification, and creating ways to display deceased specimens she wishes to keep.

Born to a secluded valley, heavily forested so the only ways to leave and enter were through caves that only the villagers of the valley knew how to navigate by heart, where Familiars and Soquili are bonded as blood brothers and sisters at puberty, Inali the soquili and Isa the bobcat, their bond as spirit twins marking them as meant as a blessing for the tribe, were both brilliant shamans, and gifted with the subtle and instinctive skill of such acute observation and understanding of patterns that it seemed they could predict the future.

Unfortunately for them, however, no one can truly and purely predict the future.

One morning as they ventured from the cave to find a quiet place to meditate, the pair were ambushed by an invading herd, who wished to enter the valley and take it for their own, but could not find their way through the dangerous caves. The two were penned and, to keep him from escaping and to torture him to give up the directions or scare Isa into doing so, Inali was pinned down and his beautiful wings were tied tight with ropes until they burned for oxygen, then slowly cut into stumps, and burnt to stop the bleeding.

And yet, through it all, Inali and Isa stayed strong, Inali begging Isa to not tell, and Isa keeping his jaws clamped as tight as his eyes, not watching... But not speaking, either. After weeks of torment, the intruders then separated the pair by just a gate, and dosed Inali with corpse powder. They'd toss him a different familiar if Isa would speak.

Isa refused, and gave up his life to join his brother permanently as a single being. A skinwalker.

Planned to be set into the caves in the morning,as cursed walkers frequently go after familiar individuals for prey early on, an act that would harm the village and demoralize them at the same time, the invaders left them penned as they slumbered, with just a single guard.

A mistake that prooved fatal as the skinwalker escaped, silently the invaders one by one in their sleep before venturing into the caves.

For home. His Territory.

However his hunt was cut short as his village found him early on, binding him once more in ropes and put into a pit used to trap herds of wild boars turned into a pen, horrified at what had happened, but unwilling to kill him for what he had. They had to find help.

And so, they seek out a young domained angeni,still getting settled into the world of Kawani from having been a domained spirit just Five years prior, a single stallion that lived to the southwest of their valley in the foothills circled by mountains.

A stallion by the name of Cuauhcoatl. After all -- who better to find a cure to their shaman's curse than The Angeni of Learning?
