I talked to fishing players and asked why do they price high. Answers vary but these are repeated reasons. Someone's buying them. Spent a lot of time catching a bulk by months. It takes months to fish more than a hundred and fifty large fishes of the same kind. I know, I fished stones and caught 74 of them for an entire month time and they are the most easiest to catch and find among boldurs. So apply those to slates and sands.

You say this, yet I have been fishing there for two weeks and can't catch ONE slate boldur. I can catch almost any fish with a distance rod plus, but not a slate boldur. It's kind of pissing me off. :S

skill maybe? took me 4 days from bassken to durem without stopping at port. met some people who just learned how to fish and caught one fish at durem in 10 minutes. its talent and skill.

I'm that second type. I just started fishing Durem and went with it. At first, it was a bit steep to get the hang of, but now I can catch *almost* all the fish. I haven't caught any of the Hellmane fish yet.. and I can only seem to snag Stone and Sand Boldurs.. where are all the Slates??

Seriously, I just must have crappy luck.

xd I'm the same. I skipped Bass'ken lake. If I have to fish at Durem, might as well do it. But that's my personality xd If I eventually have to do the hard one, I always do it first.

As for the slates -- I'm hearing a concensus from my fishing friends that the slates are not coming as often as they used to.

I do know how to deflate market prices at a faster rate in a single day... however I'll be risking my account banned unless I got several people working with me to commit a perfect crime of deflation...

Anyhow, nothing we can do about those who got the gold.
How would you do that? ~ish curious~

Too many eyes on this forum. I prefer discussing it outside gaia. Haven't tried it since I need people ten or more for it to be effective hypothetically and I could decrease average market price to a mere 1k in 1-3 days tops hypothetically I mean.

But yeah, a spark of curiosity is pretty much all I can give at the moment. I intended to use this to help alchemist but after reviewing gaia rules meh... not even sure if I can pass this off as perfect loophole. ninja

Especially since....if you've read the updated ToS (updated Dec. 2013), then yea...there's a clause in there that basically states they can deactivate/terminate your account for absolutely no reason at all. They can simply strip away your account, belongings, etc., without any warning, & without an actual reason. So...they don't even need a rational reason to get rid of problem people anymore XD Hence, be careful ;3

(Though I wouldn't mind assisting you in this endeavor. Just saying).

On the bright side, Old Man Logan will never raise his prices on the Fish Exchange. If buying the fish has become impossible, then just grab a Rod, practice your Fishing skills in Bass'ken and the Bay, and then work on gradually catching a hundred thousand Black Pebbos...I can guarantee that when you finish, Logan will NOT suddenly be asking for five million Black Pebbos!

I'm with you, I invested in an angelic rod because with rising fish prices, it'll save me gold in the long run.

I mean what alchemist would buy at prices that in like 4 days would jack up the market 2m? Most alchemist care about if what they do affects the market for others. However I know there are people out there who try to take advantage of us alchemist. People who try to jack the market up so they can make profit.

From both an alchemist and fisher perspective, I am disappointed at how prices are being played by fishers and buyers. Fishers for they know they are now indispensable and buyers who have little thought about what they are doing to the alchemy community.

I don't agree with how slates and sands are being priced but I do understand it on the fisher point of view. How? fishing game was just a sport and barely profitable, a joke if you consider, yes alchemy made it now noticeable but they are making up for the years that they earned poorly. Not enough to justify current inflation? I agree.

Well it takes skill to be on durem and not many can fish there, we all can agree that. Which is why people who spent time there must be compensated for their skill and valuable time of doing something else. I mean, yeah anyone can collect bugs at barton and find rares occasionally but rare fishes are more difficult to find plus the level difficulty of the place compared to barton huntin spree.

I talked to fishing players and asked why do they price high. Answers vary but these are repeated reasons. Someone's buying them. Spent a lot of time catching a bulk by months. As long as there are people paying they'll increase those pricing. Also, if an alchemist ain't willing to learn how to fish then they suffer to these prices. It is easy to pay gold but it is hard to catch for gold. Imagine spending an hour and catching only 1 slate or 1 sand, you're already considered good. But if you spent that time on barton or tiles, you could earned some gold faster and even in an un-inflated price comparison.

Solution? learn how to fish, takes time and a lot of pain but it's worth it. Complaining about it won't solve it. Empower an alchemist to waffle instead of buying in mp the easy way like the old days were philosopher caches weren't sold on the shop.
