Luka caught what Atsuma said and immediately turned to Kokoro. She was aiming for the place where the donger would be. He bolted into action as his clay creations turned tail and headed towards Atsuma. Once he passed their blast zone they would trigger, providing cover for them. His feet pounded the ground as he tried to get to the girl. The powder, Luka could smell it now. An ignition went off just as he approached, and the sizzling of the line burning. Without hesitation the chuunin leaped into the air, diving forward and grabbing Kokoro. He knocked her to the ground and covered her completely with his body. The explosion happened just after. Luka could feel the heat and braced himself, digging his hands into the ground so as to not get blasted away. He stared down at Kokoro as his flesh seared. His hearing went out with the boom of the blast and for a moment he felt like a serene peace. The girl wasn't dead. He knew he would have some problems in the coming fight, but Luka could get through it. He had battled worse before. Once the blast was over and the debris settled, Luka pushed himself to his feet. He could feel the strain in his back and knew immediately that if he bent too far what remained of his muscles would tear as easily as paper. Without a word he walked off towards Atsuma, moving very carefully and slowly. His hands reached down and he wrapped them around the hilts of his kopeshes; the time for mercy and carelessness was over. A new Luka was in place, the warrior. He had no expression other than one of concentration. "Lord Jashin, grant me the strength and prowess to send you many souls today. The sacrifices will be bountiful; I will wade through their blood and eviscerate them. I shall tear them limb from limb and strangle them with their own insides." Luka said in prayer, very calmly. He stood still and waited for the first hooded figure to approach. It came bursting through the brush, a blowgun raised to its mouth. Luka pivoted and dodged the shots. The figure made the mistake of trying to reload. Luka put on a burst of speed and shot forward, launching his kopesh skyward. The hooded figure tried to stumble away but was too slow to avoid the blade. It caught the person under the chin. Luka shuddered as the blade sunk right through their flesh and bone. He lifted them off of the ground and let their blood flow from the blade to his arm.

Kokoro, as she was attempting to get to the Donger, smelt powder fluffing out into the air. "What the-" She didn't finish saying this when Luka had her pinned to the ground and covered. An explosion followed this and the first thing that came to her mind was the safety of Tochisame. She had no idea where he was. Once Luka had let her go, she bolted away while screaming, "Tochisame! Where are you!?" She turned her head to Luka and he would be able to see the absolute panic she had in her eyes. "I can't help you further until I find Tochisame. Do what you need to do. Make sure we save the client." Kokoro bolted away and was on a quest to find Tochisame. The area was destroyed by the explosion and there was countless piles of debris that Tochisame could be under. She tried to sniff him out, but there was too much dust and powder in the air. The panic in her heart and mind multiplied exponentially. In her panic, she began to just pull up debris and toss it away. She couldn't find Tochisame and it was killing her inside. As she continued to dig through debris, she heard a whimper from a ways to her left. She sped there faster than she had ever moved before and found Tochisame pinned down by a large chunk of earth. "I got you, buddy. Everything is going to be okay. I got you... I got you... I got you..." She began to well up with tears as she cleared the debris off of her best friend. She fell to him, tears flowing out of her eyes, and her weeping in regret. "I'm sorry, Tochisame... I can't believe I let you get hurt..." The wolf reassured his master by licking her cheek then laying his head down to rest. Two of Tochisame's legs and a couple ribs were broken. He wouldn't be able to move himself until he was treated by a medical shinobi. Kokoro analyzed this damage by laying her hands on him. Even a fighter like her had knowledge of basic first aid and could find breaks in bones. Her mind was racing with horrible thoughts. Influenced by her anger, she screamed out for Luka to hear her pain. "LUKA! TAKE ALL OF THEM! SEND THEM ALL TO JASHIN!" She wanted all of those responsible for Tochisame's pain to be killed.

The blast could be seen from miles away. The enemies spared no expense when filling the place up with explosives. All Atsuma had chance to do was cover his eyes and braced himself for the incoming wave of energy the explosion created. "Argh!" He shouted as it propelled his body backwards into a tree. His head, hitting the bark with enough force to knock Atsuma out.
Atsuma awoke with the taste of blood in his mouth. Just like that time before. Everything around him was blurry and an obnoxious buzz filled the otherwise silence of chaos. The blood, where did it come from? Atsuma touched the top of his head slowly. A moist feeling sent a cold wave throughout his arm. "Ugh..." The boy bent over to vomit abruptly. "K...Kokoro..." He mumbled remembering little by little what was happening. "Luka...Stop...her..." Time had stopped tat the moment where Atsuma saw Luka alone. Limping back to where he assumed were his team mates. He was greeted by a crazed Kokoro and Luka. Kokoro shouting for blood to spill and Luka obeying at his own accord. Atsuma's plan had failed. Was this the path he would have to go through with? The scientist was nowhere to be found. The explosion probably meant the end of the old man. The mission was a failure. "Your friends are causing a lot of trouble. The explosion was supposed to have killed them and you as well." The voice was familiar and it was coming from behind Atsuma. The boy that had accompanied the eccentric scientist bore an evil grin across his face. Lifting his shaking right arm Atsuma pointed and spoke, "You...What is the meaning of this..." He asked expecting a quick answer. The boy explained to him how much he resented the scientist and wanted to rid him and his old ways for good, but he had to do it in a way that didn't put the blame onto himself. So he came up with a plan to create a fake mission and hire mercenaries to capture him and whoever was assigned to escort him. They'd find the boy and simply dismiss the whole thing as a bandit raid. The boy raised his right arm and waved towards Atsuma. Two hooded figures swiftly made way to him and grabbed ahold of his arms. The explosion did a number on him. Looking up at the sky all Atsuma could see were more tree. "Shame...I always wanted to die staring at the moon..." The boy unsheathed a small kunai from his pocket and slowly approached Atsuma trying to savor the moment. "Do you resent me gennin?" He asked with the same grin from before. "Hehe. Resent? I don't resent. Everything happens for a reason." The boy was face to face with Atsuma now although much shorter. "Any last words?" With an incomprehensible strength Atsuma broke free from one of the hooded men. His right palm wrapping itself around the boys head. "My allies are part of me. You dare hurt them." A pause was given. The boy couldn't free himself from the grasp. "And resent will be the least of your worries." In the blink of an eye Atsuma's forearm bone extended itself, piercing the boy's head in the process. His life essence vanishing without a trace. His eyes were so lost. Gazing into the abyss of nothing. The two hooded figures tried to regain their grip on Atsuma, but it was too late. The boy was free and his bone piercing through their own would be the last thing they saw.
Kokoro's words would bolster Luka's excitement. He fidgeted in place, still staring down at the body before him. The blood had pooled around the man, his first sacrifice of the day. His fingers twitched and danced around the handle of the kopesh as he turned to his next victim. Three hooded figures burst through the trees and surrounded him. One raised the blow dart but it was too late. With a savage burst of speed Luka was before him. He mustered all his strength into one blow and punched the end of the pipe, splintering it in two and shoving it backward into the man's throat. He quickly reached out and snaked an arm around the dying man's neck, spinning the two of them so the others could not stick Luka with a dart. With a brutal twist he snapped the guy's neck while tossing him aside. Luka raised a hand and pointed at one of them. His clay creations suddenly fell from the trees, all manner of creations. Most of them landed on him, and those that did not would crawl towards him. The hooded figure shrieked in fear and tried to knock away the insects. With a single seal Luka activated them. The light reached him before the sound. He closed his eyes as the warmth washed over him, almost lifting him off his feet. Luka could feel the splatter from the man as well.
The last figure had cut and run, but he would not get away. Luka threw his weapons to the ground and planted his palms on the ground. He forced chakra into his nodes as he loosened his arms and legs. This posture made him look more gangly, but his speed would increase. He released a ferocious shout of rage and took off, kicking up dirt and dust behind him. The man turned and saw his advance and screamed. He smashed into a tree and turned. Luka bent his legs and shoved himself from the ground, thrusting an arm forward. Chakra wrapped around his arm and just as it pierced the man and the tree, Luka let out a groan. The force of his blow had teared what little muscles had remained connecting his shoulder to the rest of him. Luka felt the feeling already draining from his arm. He turned to the man as anger seeped into his expression. Through gritted teeth, Luka spoke. "I let you get the upper hand on me, this led me to believe you were a superior warrior." The Jashinist said as he straightened up as best as he could. The man was barely staying with him, his eyes rolling and blood spilling from his mouth. 'Please', the man croaked out. Luka smashed his forehead against the man's head once before talking once more. "But you are not. You are a coward. You ran from battle. Your death is not for Jashin, it is not worthy. This one is for me!" Luka said before leaning backward once more. He brought his head forward three more times before the man fell limp. Luka stood over him, breathing heavily though not from exhaustion. It was just all so exciting. He ripped his arm away from the man and let him fall discarded to the floor. Without a second glance backward he started the trek back to his weapons. As he walked, he vented this blood thirst, not wanting to scare Atsuma and Kokoro. Luka looked down at his bloodstained body and shrugged. There was little to do about that now. He grunted as he tried to grab his weapon, remembering the sever in his muscles. That would need to be fixed. Luka holstered one kopesh and then carried the other before making his way back to the group. He looked like utter crap, but his eyes were more alive than the two would have seen before. "The researchers, we have to find them. Kokoro..." Luka said as he weakly gestured through the air, telling her to lead the way. After a big battle Luka always felt this strange elation, almost like a glazing of the senses. It tasted like pure ecstasy.

[Ooc: Power went out for like a week because of some downed power lines. Had to stay with a friend until it came back on just so I could have food preserved in a fridge. Power is back.]
Kokoro couldn't move. The smell of blood, powder, and dirt was flooding her senses and her overwhelming sadness over Tochisame's injuries paralyzed her. Luka's words bounced off her skull like pebbles against glass. He spoke of finding the researchers, but she couldn't worry about that. "Tochisame... you'll be alright... Everything will be fine..." Kokoro lied down next to her partner and pet his head slowly. She needed to be there with her best friend and was blinded to her mission at hand. It was impossible for her to think of anything besides helping Tochisame.
[Sorry about the crappy post. Kokoro's kinda.....not there. Hard to write a lot about her not doing much. I hate just writing useless fluff.]

In the distance the two shinobi could see Atsuma's body emerging from the chaos. He walked slowly with a slight limp caused by the explosion. In his right hand he dragged the dead body of the young client. The one that had started it all. His brain had been impaled by Atsuma's bone and created a thick trail of blood where ever the two went. When he finally reached Luka and Kokoro, Atsuma threw the body at their feet with an indifferent expression. "This person set us up." Atsuma announced looking at his team mates. Luka seemed to have braced much of the blast. It was a very gruesome sight and it appeared as if Kokoro was having a melt down of some sort. How did thing end up like that? "What do we do now?" Atsuma asked looking at Luka. One of the clients was dead and he assumed that explosion must've terminated the other one as well.
Luka's frown had evolved into a scowl. How had this mission gotten so far away from them? He had never failed so hard in his life. Luka was ashamed despite the sacrifices he had sent to Jashin. The mission was a failure for the most part, and he had let down his village. Elizabeth would have his a** for this. Quite possibly literally too. Luka calmly holstered his weapons and did his best to wipe the grime off of his face. He walked past Kokoro and her pet and spoke in a harsh voice. "Get him up, we still have a mission to complete. We have to either find the rest of researchers and return them safely, or murder all the traitorous swines." The Jaegerbomb said, very close to exploding himself. He stalked over to the still raging fire and began to furiously kick dirt at it, trying to snuff it out. When most of it had disappeared he walked into the hut. Luka searched for any sign of bodies, clothing, or a hint of the students. When he found none, a trickle of hope entered him. "There are no bodies! The students may still be alive." Luka walked back over to Kokoro and squatted down, looking at her fish-dog while speaking in a softer voice. His anger was not directed at her, but Luka had a hard time controlling himself. He understood that he had to make ammends. "Kokoro, we still need you. Those kids may be alive and your nose is better than mine. We need to try and find them before anything else happens." Luka said, controlling the tone of his voice and even carefully picking his words. He would save his anger for his own time, when the next unfortunate soul happened to piss him off.

Heimer got blown up. The other client tried to set everyone up. Atsuma killed him. Kokoro is having a mental breakdown.
Honey's account got hacked and is apparently locked. She's attempting to get it back. She texted me and wants you to go on without her. She'll fail the mission if you see that she should. Just treat Kokoro as if she can't continue without Tochisame.

Oh wow that sucks! And no I wouldnt fail her for something like that, she'll get full credit. Thanks for the update Hark!
Atsuma didn't quite understand what Luka was doing. Had the explosioned rattled up his head as well. Kokoro as well seemed to be suffering from severe shock. The students were all dead. Killed by the explosion and their were probably more enemies heading their way. He heard the leader ordering her to track the students, but Atsuma could see that she wasn't in the right state of mind to continue with mission. "We can't keep going Luka." Atsuma announced trying to ignore the palms of his hands. The blood of the traitor was crusty. Washing it off wouldn't do any good. "Look at her." He said gesturing towards the broken shinobi. "Look at us!" Atsuma wasn't there, but Luka obviously braced the explosion to save Kokoro. Atsuma himself could no longer fight due to the blast from earlier. "We need to get her and Tochisame out of here" If Luka didn't listen, if the chunnin wanted to save lost lives, then Atsuma would take his friend back to the village to get help without him.
[Now Luka just looks rude! xD] Luka blinked thrice, having becoming almost aware of a higher outer power adjusting the story. Without a word he walked over to Kokoro and lifted her up, ignoring the wounds opening on his back. He couldnt carry the dog fish as well, but suspected Atsuma would assist. Luka trudged back to the village in silence.
