And when she did let him out of her weak hold, her zombie like demeanor hadn't stopped. "I didn't mean to be gone so long, I swear. It's just one thing turned into another and another and..." She rubbed the back of her neck, where Bischofite's hold on her smaller feline form would've translated to a human body.
"I'm so tired..."
But after a little beat to gather her thoughts and eat in slow motion, she reached over and picked up the starseed again, only to put it back down. Now wasn't the time to power up and give a demonstration.
"When I try to interact with the mirror it moves..."
But that was all she had to offer at first because she stood up, sandwich in hand. "There's a lot going on, Xan. And I'm sorry I've been avoiding you. It's not fair, after all you did to get out to just drop our friendship. And I'm so sorry..."
She slumped against him in a half abandoned hug, and spurred on by exhaustion dampening her inhibitions, actually confessed, "I felt like I kinda helped Falco die, but I know that's not fair, I'm sorry."
She looked at the sandwich in her hant and nodded, even smiled a little. "This was nice. Nostalgic, even," She laughed and stumbled back to her own two feet.
"I'm gonna finish this in bed and Caroline and cry about barbecue sauce stains on her white sheets later."
