"He father," she spat out, trying to bite back the bitterness. She was still having a hard time with him; forgiving him for leaving her and her sisters...it was because of him that Fianna left in the first time, and now he was back and playing house and just acting like everything was happily ever after. Now Fianna was following down the same path; bringing home stallions that would inevitably leave her one day.
"He's back, for good...so he says," she added with a sneer. "You've been gone for so long, Fianna..."

Note: Fianna is maxed out Fianna shook her head, her brows knitting together in confusion. "He's back?? But.. that doesn't even make sense." She snorted. "You never were very good at jokes, Dee. That's just ridiculous. He ws just some... dumb foal in stallion's hooves when I met him and..."
She trailed off, regarding the look in her sister's eyes. She was serious. And suddenly her mind kicked back into gear. How long had it been since she had found him in those woods? Years. She had changed since then, SO much. Was it so hard to believe that he might have as well?
Her ears pressed back. "It sounds like you don't believe him..." She said cautiously. "And.... I know. I've .... I've done things I've regretted... and I've done things that have helped me come to really know myself. The good and the bad. Sometimes... it feels like I just left home yesterday, and sometimes the true measure of the time I've been away hits me, and .... Dee, I'm so sorry. I should have been there for you."

"Of course I don't believe him," Deirdre huffed, pawing the ground with her mutated hoof. "Do you not think he said that stuff before? Remember how mother was after the first time? So of course all he had to do was show back up and suddenly it was all okay and mom didn't seem to remember how it was when he up and left again."
She gave a bitter sigh, having trouble looking Fianna in the eyes. "I don't want that to happen to you," she said in a small, almost child like voice.

Fianna held her tongue for a few moments, letting Deirdre's words sink in as thoughts rolled around in her head. "I dunno what he said before," Fianna murmured quietly. "I'm.... I'm surprised he came back here. He said he was gonna when I ran into him out in the world a couple of years ago. I never thought he actually would." An ear flicked back.
Fianna finally met Deirdre's eyes again. "I'm a grown mare, Deirdre. I... I've been away for most of my life. Whether he stays or goes, I don't know how much it's gonna hurt or help me now. I don't even know how long I'm goign to stay. But I'll stay at least for a while."
She took a breath and squared her shoulders. "Maybe I'm the one who shouldn'ta left, though, Dee. Or maybe I should'a taken ye with me. A lot happened to me out there, and it's made me who I am now. But that shouldn'ta come at a cost to you. And for that, I am sorry."

"After all this time, you don't think it would hurt you if he left again?" she asked, surprised with a touch of bitterness in her voice. "I mean, I mean..." she shook her head. "There's more to the world than just you and your feeling, Fianna!" She looked incredulous, turning her back and pacing back and forth a bit, trying not to let her temper flare anymore than nit already had. "I mean, what about Momma? Do you think she could go through that again - and what about- "
She stopped, her eyes going wide, almost forgetting she didn't know. "You've missed so much, Fifi," she pouted, casting her eyes to the ground. "You have three more siblings now. Thanks to hiim. What happens if he leaves again? You just wanna let it happen again? What happened to us? Don't you remember anything?"
She snorted, looking disgusted. "Apparently not. I bet Blondie is gonna be gone the moment your belly starts to swell!"

Fianna frowned, eyes averting and shaking her head with a bob of her curls. "Tha's not what I meant." She muttered, already feeling guilty for having put things like that.
"You know... you and mom are the main reasons I came back to begin with." She protested, not entirely willing to roll over and just be chided by her sister, even if they were merited. She felt bad, though, and maybe her protests came out of that. She wished that Deirdre could have found something else to latch onto in her absence, somewhere else to find strength rather than just apparently sinking further down into bitterness.
But that wasn't Deirdre's fault.
She looked up quickly though at the mention of siblings. "I... what?" She furrowed her brow. "Mum and Ethan... he's been back that long?" She asked quietly, ears flicking. SHe'd missed so much, and her stomach took another guilty turn.
"How old are they?" She asked hesitantly, mind already straying to her own sons who had grown and left.
But her anger flared at Deirdre's chiding of Dae. "You have no idea what he's like." She snapped, a little angrier than she meant to sound. "He's nothing like Ethan. And he's... he's more loyal than I deserve sometimes." She swallowed. SHe wasn't going to hide this - her sons weren't something she was ashamed of, despite the circumstances that led to them. "Dee... I had children. Not... not with Dae... and he stuck with me through it all. He didn't even have to, but he helped me raise them. Even when we had nothing more of a home than a place on the road that we felt was decent enough. You... you have no idea what it's like out there."

"They are two young stallions and a mare now," she said, looking away. She had always been a bit bitter - their childhoods were filled with love and stability that she did not have. Yet, at the same time she loved them; they were her sister and brothers after all - and she was happy they didn't have to go through the hurt that she did.
However, she turned her gaze back to Fianna as she continued to speak; she had foals of her own?
"You... you did?" she asked, flabbergasted. Bile seemed to rise in her throat as she continued on - not even with Dae? "Where are they now?" she demanded, looking back over her shoulder as if she half expected them to be there.
