He nodded then, finally stopping, shifting to a clearly ‘standing’ pose and swatted at the lines of chalk that dusted his uniform, turning clear stripes into vagaries of what they had been and dusting his hands with a pastel blush. Even his mask had traces of it, which looked more than a touch ridiculous.
“VERY good.” He said with another nod. “Very good, then you should rest this evening. But I have orders to carry with you.” He dusted his hands together in small clouds of chalk.
“I want you to take a star seed, a SENSHI’S star seed… Don’t try out of your depth I don’t want you dead, just one of them. Bring it back to me…”

In all of her days in the Negaverse, Kyanite had never taken a starseed. She had really only touched one once -- tentatively feeling into the chest of an unconscious civilian. It had been such a chilling feeling that she had sprinted away from the body as if it was on fire. Now Zinkenite wanted her to claim one, let alone one from a senshi.
"A senshi?" she stammered, taking an involuntary step back. "I... with all due respect, I have never taken a starseed from a civilian."
Kyanite felt stupid the moment she said it, but she honestly was in shock. Energy gathering was enough of a chore for her -- but killing someone? She had never been able to do it. She had never seen the point of it.

“Then start with a civilian starseed, I think it would be a very…very good bench mark. You can work up from there… after all, If you want to heal, as terrible as their overuse can be, starseeds, are a valuable resource to us in that regard. They work far better than simply energy.
“Bring me a civilian starseed, next time we meet I want to see it in your hand. It’s not an easy task, but you can do this. Marthozite did, as have I… Make us…both, proud.”

Kyanite resisted the urge to feel relieved. How could she? Sure, Zinkenite had agreed to a simpler target, but that wasn't her issue. She had never been convinced that she was capable of murder. That was what this felt like: murder. She understood that energy and starseeds helped the greater cause, but thinking that was much different than actually acting on it. Just thinking about being responsible for the end of someone's life made her stomach do tight little flips.
The chalk hung limply in her dark hands. Her true weapon -- the electrical cord -- was holstered to her belt. It was true that she sometimes wondered quietly what it would be like to have a real weapon, but she still felt so different from her peers. She had watched so many new recruits mold seamlessly into the Negaverse apparatus. Why didn't she fit?
An order, however, was an order. "A starseed," she echoed, tasting the words in her mouth. "Yes... sir." Her voice hinted at a lack of confidence, but Kyanite did her best to look confident about this new development. She just needed to summon her courage and her strength if she was going to survive this.

“I look forward to our next meeting, Lieutenant Kayanite.”
His voice was soft, almost soothing but not so much so as to give her any thought that failure was an option. It was a hard thing to do, but she’d have to find a way.
He moved around her, great coat spreading behind him as he moved towards the tremendous and terrifying door to the rift, and without even a glance behind, vanished within.
