Cas snorted at the tease, the brown orb flickering in his socket. He shook his head at Lith, "You may be timid and peaceful but there's a wild side to you. Otherwise you wouldn't go along with most things I suggest." He grinned at Lith as put his foot down a little harder than normal, sending a small jolt through the ground at his friend. "Watch yourself Lith. I may just corrupt you."

Used to Casseth’s antics, Lithian maneuvered the jolt in the earth with barely a stumble, shooting Cas a huff and a smile simultaneously. At the last statement, though, Lithian blinked, attention flicking down momentarily to Cas’ lips. Lips that had been kissing Irida only minutes prior. Immediately, Lithian shoved the thought away and diverted his gaze, flushing warmly.
‘Perhaps you have already.’
“You have no idea.”
Thankfully for Lithian’s sanity, the pair separated shortly thereafter, Casseth returning home to his father and Lithian wandering back in the direction of his current temporary residence. In the absence of Cas, though, things that were easier to laugh off before or ignore entirely weighed on him. Guilt. Frustration. Shame.
Jealousy.
He had no right, no reason to harbor envy for a little ysali girl who knew nothing of him and he nothing of her. But telling himself so did not ease the burning in his chest or relax the tight knots of growing confusion and blind want for things that he had no business wanting to begin with. Lithian buried himself in his books, a talent honed to mastery over his short lifetime, and privately vowed that if this unnatural preoccupation with Casseth did not ease soon, he would work — for Casseth’s sake if nothing else — to find another target for his physical interests.
Casseth did not deserve to suffer the romantic pinings of a boy who did not yet know himself, let alone how to communicate his sentiments to others.
