Yes, he was definitely getting under her skin, and Buddingtonite tried so very, very hard not to openly laugh. Laughing would have liked to have been a death sentence in this case, but tried as he might, he couldn't stop himself from smiling. If that earned him a punch to the face or a knee to the jewels, he'd simply have to accept that as an appropriate punishment, because he could not stop his grin from going ear to ear. She was handling this far better than he would have, at least! That gave him some hope...
"I'm absolutely certain you are. Just as I'm certain that you're a master huntress... I honestly pity any that dare cross your path, friend or foe," Buddingtonite said, his grin still intact but his words as sincere as he could make them. He had his fun and now that he had his fill, he was willing to work himself into her good graces again. After all, he had enough enemies in the Negaverse, could he truly afford one that, even in her lieutenant stage, could wipe the floor with him? By her harsh words and her reluctance to give her name, he feared he had gone too far with his little game, and that was enough to weigh down his smile into a more passive expression. "I'm terribly sorry you feel that way. Maybe it's for the best that someone else got to you first, then..."
Considering the last person he tried to enlist had turned into quite the youma... the idea of this one turning into a youma was both off putting yet intriguing to him, and he tried to force the idea from his head before it threatened to consume him. No need to have those pesky flashbacks and feelings of guilt now... not with Cinnabar. He needed to be on the top of his game!
He returned to the realm of reality just in time to see the energy orb coming his way, and instinctively he reached out to catch it. Not that it mattered, as the moment he touched it is dissipated, and the jolt he felt made him realize just how much she had taken in such a short amount of time. Maybe teasing this one was a mistake and he'd suffer for it in the long run? Still, that'd be a problem for future Buddingtonite, as he managed to keep his smile intact, if only barely.
"Only this bar, and maybe another one further up the road, close to that set of apartments over yonder. Usually, if I'm in a casino, though, I'm there for pleasure, never business, so you're welcomed to try your luck there. If you're intent on avoiding me, don't go there on Saturdays... not unless you fancy the idea of putting up with my existence, or getting a little revenge of your own."

The dark haired lieutenant gave the general a once over with a raised eyebrow, setting in her mind the bar and casino he had mentioned as places to never go under any circumstances. She would never be able to perform properly if there was even the hint that he might be around, watching her from the shadows as she made a fool of herself for a bit of energy to fill her quota.
The loss of the energy orb was disappointing, but it was small next to the embarrassment she had felt, still felt. She really needed to find a way to tell if someone was an officer or not on first meeting... or things like this were bound to happen again. How did everyone else manage not to accidentally drain each other, anyway? That felt like something that should have been worked out long before she had hit the scene.
Maybe she should look on the bright side... she had almost enjoyed making out with him and her uppity attitude afterwards had not earned her any sort of punishment from the higher ranked officer. Had it been someone else, she probably would have gotten some kind of retaliation for her sharp mouth, so she was lucky to get off with little more than embarrassment and wasted effort.
Lifting a hand, she waved dismissively as she turned to go, other hand propped on the curve of her hip below her corset.
"I'll make sure to avoid those places in the future and at least now I know what you look like, so avoiding you in the future should be far simpler. You can go back to your boozing now... I have to go make up for lost time." She said as she turned her back to him, hips swinging with her loose stride.

It was certainly an interesting encounter and one that could have gone horribly wrong, had she been the type to go straight for the starseed. The thought of his own mortality was such a major turn off, as much as he pegged himself a risk taker, so any further encounters with Cinnabar would have to be done more cautiously, he told himself. At least now he had the benefit of her knowing his face and placing it to his general status, to prevent further attempts on his life or energy in the future. Both of them walked away from this experience alive, though he had a feeling he was the only one walking away with a smile.
No wonder others didn't like him, he thought to himself, as he found himself grinning at her dismissive stance. He shouldn't have gotten this much enjoyment out of someone else's distress, and yet, here he was, too busy smiling like a jackal and enjoying himself. Whatever chances he had of working alongside her in the future was gone, and he had a distinct feeling that, even he had hadn't pissed her off, he would have no chance in getting into those tight, leather pants of hers. 'A pity... you have a nice walk.'
Her fiery retort was hurtful, but Buddingtonite played it off with a snort, not at all angry for her justified reaction. He tipped his hat to her, as he called back, before returning to his favorite bar. "Very well. It was a pleasure to meet you, Lieutenant. May fortune ever blow in your favor, or however that phrase goes."
He made a lifelong enemy that night, but for the laughs? It was totally worth it.
