Mpeka's ears perked up one again, watching him splay over the rock and talk a childish babble about enslaving him?
This guy was crazy, but it was the good type of crazy, the type that made her smile like she hadn't before.
And that's really saying something.
She decided to play with him and gently lay her head ontop of his fluffy maned top, chuckling warmly as she gently gnawed on his ear in a playful manner.
But only for a few moments before she nuzzled into his mane again.
"Ahhhh...now I see the use of manes...they make great things to sleep on..." She said jokingly...mind you.
She could just sleep on him, his mane was that soft, but she didn't want to hurt him.

"They're excellent things, manes. Though they tend to make us males big babies when it gets far too hot outside. It's like wearing five extra layers of fur." He replied between murrs, tail curling around one of his back legs. He didn't mind her resting on him; in fact, he rather enjoyed it. Chuckling, he rolled over closer to her, reaching up to n** playfully at her ears.
"That's the only reason you females like us anyways. Cave floors are too hard to rest your heads on." He said jokingly. "We're big pillows. I 'spect some warm sand and one of these rocks would be better, though. We pillows tend to get uncomfortable after a few nights of use."

Mpeka chuckled louder, only to look at him and give off a loud purr as she smirked at him.
Like she'd ever get bored of him!
She then gently placed a paw on his mane and ran it down, almost pawing at him, but more gently.
"I don't think I'd ever get bored of this pillow...he's much too fun."
She said in a strange tone, purring louder before she rolled onto her back and looked at the sky.
The warm rock on her back making her sigh contently.
Okay.
That was strange, like she'd almost been flirting with him.
But damn if it didn't feel good.

Kavu grinned to himself, then flopped onto his side, his back facing Mpeka. It almost sounded like she liked him... But no, how could she like him? There were other males in the Firekin pride that were much stronger than him, and bigger than him, and more accustomed to the Firekin life than him. Still, he hoped it were true.
"I'm glad you think i'm fun." He responded, purring and wriggling closer to her. "Most of the other pillows think i'm... well, featherbrained." More silliness. He silently hoped she felt comfortable around him, even with all of the excess joking.

The lioness watched him, head turned to look at him before she sat up, head over his to just see a dark sillohette(sp???>.<) of her head in the way of the bright beams of sunlight.
She then smirked at him softly.
What was there not to like about him?
He was funny, he was charismatic in his own special way...and he reminded her of that lost cubhood she never got a chance to have.
"I happen to like featherbrained pillows...and trust me...you are just my type..." She said sweetly, tail flicking back and fort as she gently placed a white tipped paw on his chest.
Looking into his soft blue eye's.

Kavu blushed as Mpeka spoke, then stared up at her in silence. She really did like him?!.... Thank goodness. After a few moments of deliberation, he leaned forward and pressed his nose to hers, then pressed it against her cheek.
"I'm glad you like me." He murmured as he pulled away, lowering his head slightly as he anticipated her reaction. His blue eyes searched her golden yellow ones as he continued. "I like you, too."
Even though, he thought to himself, you like bumbling featherbrains like me. He supressed a small chuckle.

Mpeka's eye's widened at the feline kiss but afterward's, she let out a small, affectionate smile.
He like her?...YES! Oh thank you dear Godess!
She then leaned down and 'kissed' him back, nose to nose before laying down and nuzzling into his mane.
"I'm glad." She then licked his cheek softly. "You featherbrain..."
He was a nice guy, a really nice guy.
So what if the other male's of the pride thought wrongly of him, she didn't care.
If she thought he was a wonderful guy, that was good enough to her!
((*sniffs the air* I smell luvvins -w-))

Kavu laughed, then murred, enjoying the warmth of her head in his mane. He reached up to lick her forehead, grinning goofily afterwards.
"What're you calling me a featherbrain for, huh?" He joked, a mock hurt look on his face. "You're so mean. I offer you my mane to rest on, and you call me names." Afterwards, he let out a giant sigh, still joking. "Oh well. I 'spect I deserve it, what with being so silly and all. I'm an egghead too, y'know. An egghead and a featherbrain." He nodded sagely, then paused.
"....which came first, the egghead, or the featherbrain?" He asked, quirking one eyebrow.

Mpeka chuckled softly, he was truly amusing, she then nuzzled her head against his and sighed contently.
Truly a big kid at heart this one, which made him more great.
"Now that is truly a good question...but I'm sorry I hurt your feelings..." She said, playing along with his game.
She then got the most wicked idea in the world and lapped at him maw.
"Maybe I can make you feel better?" She said, almost teasing him as she quirked her own eyebrow.

"It's okay." He replied as she apologized, mockingly puckering out his bottom lip, as if pouting. As she continued, however, he sucked his lip back in and tried hard to look unabashed. It didn't work; his ears were now perked.
"...maaaaybe." He responded, reaching out to lick her chin. Then, when he had almost reached her, he jerked his head to one side and tugged playfully on her ear.

The lioness let out a playful growl, chuckling as she felt him playfully tug at her ear, only for her to do likewise.
He really brought out her playful side, which made her happy and it took a lot to make this girl happy.
She then smiled softly.
"Your much more playful then your brother, I'll admit that." She said in a jokey fashion, even if it was partially true.
She'd never seen Kimeti's playful side...or even knew of it.
Besides, she like Kavuasi and she was more interested in his playful side right now.

Kavu snorted, staring off towards where his family's old den had been. He had never really bonded with Kimeti, but then again, he hadn't been given the chance, either. In fact, the only one of his siblings he HAD bonded with was Kafara.
"Kimeti's got no time for fun. Being king means being serious all the time in front of other pride members." He looked back towards Mpeka, a smile crossing his face. "That's part of why I gave it up. Kimeti's got no reason to goof off - he never has. I, however, like to play." Then, shrugging, he let his head rest on the rock.
"Dad used to like to play, too. But he never did it in front of others. Just with us." He continued, shutting his eyes. "I guess Kimeti and I went both ways. But hey, can't always walk in your father's footsteps, right?"

Mpeka's ears twitched softly, she'd never really known her father, but then again, her mother hadn't for a long time after she and her brother where born.
She then let her smile widen slightly and nuzzled deeper against him, sighing in a very contented way.
"Well I think you went in a good direction...and your right, you can't try to follow in someone else's footsteps...because everyone if their own individual..." She said softly.
She then licked his muzzle affectionatly, once more.
"Besides, I like you this way more."

Kavu seemed pleased by this response. He pressed his nose to her cheek, then let his eyes shut again, perfectly content for the first time in quite a while. He began to purr, thinking intently for a moment, and then spoke again.
"I'm glad I didn't turn out like him, then. Or like Kimeti." Cracking one eye open, he grinned up at her. "If I had, I wouldn't have ever gotten a chance with you. And that, m'dear, would have sucked."

The lionesses ear's flattened back as she let a small laugh escape her, before nuzzling deeply into him, purring much louder.
Yes, the thought of not meeting this male, would've indeed sucked.
Because he was so much fun.
"Indeed it would have." She said softly and gently rested her head against his large mane.
This moment right here.
You could probably get these only once or twice in a lifetime...and she loved it.
