"Could be a dog, I guess." Cassidy's tongue flickered. While she could certainly pick up an odd flavour to his scent, she had nothing to compare it with, and could not even hope to identify it. "A dog wouldn't be so bad. And even poodles aren't so bad as long as nobody cuts their fur in those godawful marshmallow styles."
She wasn't sure that came out as comforting as she meant it to.
"Where is home, for you?"

Vasile smiled and nodded with Cass's suggestion about the dog thing. Perhaps it was true. As annoying and embarassing as being a Maltese would be, he silently reminded himself that being a snake-bird would probably be a lot worse.
He snorted at the home comment. "I don't know anymore. I guess it would be less a place and more of a ... feeling. I'm just thinking back and realizing I wasn't very nice to my brother. I was always trying to hold him back... he wanted to be a movie star like me so bad. I always lashed out and tried to tell him he couldn't compare to me. Now that I think about it... I always assumed I was just threatened by him, but in reality I just don't think I wanted him to have my life, ya know? Like, I know I probably sound like the spoiled little rich boy, but that life really effects you."
He glanced sidewides at Cass and sighed. "Like, you get caught up in the game. All that matters to you is money and the next job. Its like you start judging if people are 'good enogh' to be in your presence or not. I hardly talked to my mom and dad anymore. I just really think, deep down, I missed being a little boy, and I didn't want that for him. BUt of course he'll never know that. He's probably glad I'm gone."

"I'm sure we all have some regrets," Cass said. "I know I do. There was... all sorts of things I wish I'd done, or hadn't done. I bet they do miss you a little. At the very least, they've got to regret not mending bridges with you."
The whole thing was a bit like she had always imagined the afterlife as being.

"Yeah a very little,' he teased lightly. He felt rather exposed at the moment... it had been ages since he 'opened up' to peple before he came to the island.
He shook his head and stood up, holding out his hand to her. "Enough of this depressing s**t. Lets go grab some food and then give the big boys a show!" He waggled his eyebrows and pointed to the camera, then winked down at Cass. "When life hands you lemons, right?"
((Will probably be heading out of town today and tomorrow ;_; ))

Cassidy laughed. "Sounds like a plan." She took a tight hold of his hand, and pulled herself to a standing position. She took a moment to make a rude face at the camera, and squeezed Vasile's hand.
"All right. I'm ready."
